Thanks all for the input on painting the eels, I have no experience with feathering so not sure how to use that.. The Ushabti into Red seems like a nice color combination. Bloodletter glaze was no longer available, I have the red contrast that I can use as a 9:1 Lahmian Medium : Contrast Red mix.

Thanks for the reply, the green is not for me as I don't like the colour that much but a scheme like the one on the Battletome cover is not a bad idea at all.. How would you approach this? Corax White undercoat, Pallid Wych Flesh belly, Khorne Red on the topside and using watered down Caroburg Crimson on the transition. Afterwards adding the streaks shown on the cover and using Fenrisian Grey with a bit of Tallisar Blue in the center of the streaks so the red still is visible on the edges?

The colours they used are in the comments of this Reddit post. Not a complete tutorial though.

With the new rules I decided to switch from Khorne to Deepkin since the sculpts are amazing. Already working on the Start Collecting but I’m stuck with the eels. Been on and off painting over the last 8 years or so but I can’t seem to get the paintjob anywhere decent on the eels. I saw the Warhammer TV video on the eels but my recreation looks awful. I think I want a more solid colour scheme but no clue how to get a nice blending effect. I was thinking Pallid Wych Flesh on the belly fading from Pallid Wych Flesh with a Fuegan Orange shade to Khorne Red. I can’t get the blending to look natural so I removed all the paint and was hoping any of you could give me some tips on how to get a nice blending effect on the eels. Many thanks in advance!

Hi all, Just picked up AoS after I stopped playing 5th Edition years ago. I did a few months of painting about a year ago and for that I picked up a Khorne Bloodbound box (the one with the Skullcrushers). We recently got a new group together to pick up the game and we are now working towards 2k points lists. I'm still doubting between Khorne mortals and Idoneth Deepkin, but since the Deepkin need an update (at least that is what I understood from reading up on them) Khorne is now option numero 1. Since I have no clue about the game itself (I read the core rules and the Khorne Battletome) I was hoping to pick your skulls about my idea of a list. It doesn't have to be ultra competitive (we are just playing friendly games) but it would be nice if it can compete at a local GW store tournament once we are allowed outside again.. Since the hobby is expensive l tried to build the list using an efficient method. Using both Skullreapers and Warmongers since I can build them from 1 box using the legs from the 5 Blood Warriors that come with the Start Collecting Box I need for the Bloodsecrator. Any input would be much appreciated!
