is this closer to the mark?  Seems strong. Its a big change - almost a new army - but essentially im just replacing my all the AoS 1.0 models with their 2.0 equivalents. That doesn’t feel like value for realworld money.

If you want to go with evos on dracolines I'll choose Lord Arcanum on dracolines to buff on charges.

make 1 unit of evos on foot 10x, make 1 unit of  10x sequitors.

the second unit of 5/10 sequitors if you want to use the warscroll battalion, if not go for lib.

At that point I'll go also with gavriel.

So my list would be something like this:

    Allegiance: Stormcast Eternals
    - Stormhost: Hammers of Sigmar

    Leaders
    Lord-Arcanum on Celestial Dracoline (210)
    - General
    Lord-Castellant (120)
    Gavriel Sureheart (120)

    Battleline
    10 x Sequitors (240)
    - Stormsmite Mauls and Soulshields
    5 x Liberators (90)
    - Warhammer & Shield
    5 x Liberators (90)
    - Warhammer & Shield

    Units
    3 x Evocators on Dracolines (260)
    10 x Evocators (420)
    6 x Vanguard-Raptors with Longstrike Crossbows (340)
    3 x Aetherwings (40)

Endless Spells / Terrain / CPs
    Extra Command Point (50)

    Total: 1980 / 2000
    Extra Command Points: 1
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds: 121

Yeah, i know what you mean, i dont seem to have any aggressive units at all :(  As an army i guess they have to get in position and just hold their ground.

assuming that i keep the 2 battalions, but im prepared to go out and buy new models, do you have any recommendations for the last 580 pts?

I have the same problem(but I have less minis than you), I think evocators, Dracoline unit or ballistas + ordinator could be a solution since you have just the 9x of raptors.

    Also I found this list:

Did well and isn’t so far of what we have.

If you want to save money, play with what you have first.

You'll figure out the problem then you can decide how to fix it later.

    Thank you!

I found that old starter form a friend who changed faction, and I'm going to buy those minis for 70€ or so..that's why I want to have a little program of what I'm going to have and buy in future!...and of course if I'm going to have a good deal or not! ;)

The retributors need 2 more models to make a full unit of 5.

What you have left comes to 880 points so adding another hero like an incantor or something like a Ballista would fit nicely.

Alternatively you can play the Lord celestant as Vandus Hammerhand (I'm assuming based on models you have the starter set) which takes your army to 940 or 990 with an extra command point.

Neither team is overly strong. they both lack real firepower but you can certainly play enjoyable games with them especially if your opponent has a basic non meta team.

Also if your opponent is nice they should just let you play with the retributors anyway, may as well play with what you have while you're learning to play the team, once you've got some games under your belt you will know what you want to add next.

Thank you, however I see most units aren't used a lot and seems liberators are being replaced by sequitors..

I get I need some more experience but if I develop the starter with:

    -another unit of judicator

    -dracothain guard

    -lord castellant

    -knight incantor (maybe?)

Is a good move or is better to upgrade with the vanguard starter?

Ask to save some money ahahaha!

Thank you guys for the patience!

  5. I have found this minis:

    • 1x Lord-Celestant on Dracoth
    • 1x Lord-Relictor
    • 3x Retributors
    • 3x Prosecutors
    • 10 Liberators
    • 5x Judicator
    • 5x Decimators

Is it possible to play at 1k points with some adds or those models are completely outdated?

I'm not going to play a tournament but which models you guy suggest me for a good list if its possible?

Thank you for the replies. Funnily enough I was out buying some models just now to get things going.

I did get the Reavers, mainly because I just really like the models so I will probably try and make them work. If not at least I'll enjoy painting with them. I feel like they could surprise some people and maybe pick off a support hero in turn two or soften up a target for the eels. They effectively have a 17" range for the three shots and with a re-roll run... probably going to bump that to 20". Turn two maybe run and shoot and get 3-5 wounds down on something, maybe more if they are low armor. If they get shot, or I lose them then that's less focus on the eels. Just what I figure I'll try, maybe they'll be awful.

As for another hero, I could change the core of the list to:

    2x3 Morrsarr
    1x3 Ishlaen
    10 Reavers

Then I could either do Volturnos and a Soulscryer for 1000 points, or take a King, Tidecaster, and Lotann also for 1000 points.Or don't take Lotann and take an extra command point.

Pretty excited to get going, thanks for the advice.

Lothan is my favorite model in all of AoS, really a shame is not really an option to play. Go for tidecaster and extra command point.

I can’t say running a unit of 4, but I have ran a unit of three. They are hit and miss to be honest, but are fairly valuable to provide something that doesn’t rely on a charge in order to do damage.

On paper the shark looks good to me, what would it need?

Reavers or Thralls - doesnt matter so much. I just like my Reavers. :)

What do you expect two kings to do?

I’m not sure, My first game will be probably tomorrow.😃

Comparing stats, Volturnos/king is more squishy than a maw but cost less, so I would expect to use them as a good hit and run pieces,  hoping Volturnos/king or king/king charge could take down some important enemy piece.

    Hi Baiardo,

1 you need the turtle for the Akhelian corps,

2 you should take the Tidecaster as general so you can flip the tide of death, and to make Reavers battleline

3 if you flip the tide take the Fuethan enclave to get run+charge in the first round.

4 don't forget to take the cloud of midnight

    ...

    Thank you, really good advice!

better reavers than thralls?(I was trying to use all units in the 2X starter box that I think to buy😄)

why I can’t find list where is played Volturnos+King or double King like double maw from Ironjawz?this two heroes are good only with eels?also, is a good idea wanting to play them together?

  10. Hi guys, this list is still good/played?What you want to change?

    Allegiance: Idoneth Deepkin

    Leaders
    Isharann Soulscryer (130)
    - General
    Isharann Tidecaster (100)
    Isharann Soulrender (80)

    Units
    6 x Akhelian Morrsarr Guard (340)
    6 x Akhelian Morrsarr Guard (340)
    6 x Akhelian Ishlaen Guard (280)
    1 x Akhelian Allopexes (100)
    - Razorshell Harpoon

    Battalions
    Akhelian Corps (100)

Endless Spells / Terrain / CPs
    Extra Command Point (50)

    Total: 2000 / 2000
    Extra Command Points: 2
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds: 135

  11. yeah I messed up with the first list, I choose dankhold instead of rockgut...so I would play something like this:

    Allegiance: Gloomspite Gitz

    LEADERS

    Fungoid Cave-Shaman (90)

    Loonboss (70)

    - General

    Madcap Shaman (80)

    UNITS

    3 x Rockgut Troggoths (140)

    40 x Stabbas (260)

    - Pokin Spears & Moon Shields

    5 x Loonsmasha Fanatics (140)

    12 x Squig Herd (140)

ENDLESS SPELLS / TERRAIN / COMMAND POINTS

    Malevolent Moon (40)

    TOTAL: 960/1000 WOUNDS: 94

but in the end I don't know if this is good enough, the second list like you said could be better!

Hi @baiardo, new player here too with a few games played in 1k points. If you don't mind my lack of experience i can share my thoughts on the way to go at that points range.

I build my lists mixing moonclan and squigs too so i go for a general who let me get in squig herds as battleline, whos actually i put in only because are a cheap bag of wounds, so i usually run a loonboss on mangler squig. For the other battleline requiered i stack a bunch of stabbas. At some point i mind to upgrade to a horde army of 2k, so i usually take 40 stabbas.

After that i'll try to combine heroes and units go can sinergize between them. Maybe a few fungoid cave shamans, or madcap if i run out of points, and a loinboss to bosts the stabbas and and a unit of fanatics to throw them with the hand of gork. Or two units of boingrot bounderz to follow the mangler and try to be agressive, ussually that path ends with them smashed on the floor but if the dices rolls nice they do a decent damage.

I hope i helped a bit, im barely new to aos. And excuse me for my rubbish english, im not a native speaker :)

    Thank'you!

I want to start with a solid base not only "for fun" list, which I like, but also a bit competitive 1k list or at least good for expanding at 1,5/2k
I'm still undecided, there is a way to get good value of the start collecting?

Megaboss on foot is OK for smaller games or redundancy. He's nothing stellar though. Generally you want 2 Warchanters, Ardboys and Brutes to your liking yeah. And get a MK :)

A bit generic but thank you anyway, can you suggest me your favorite 1k list?

  14. This is still an ever green for who want to start the faction right?

  15. Hi, I’m new to AoS, I need help for a good starting 1k army list. I like grots and squigs in the same list.

I read the previous lists, mostly at 2k/or mono squigs but they aren’t for me and I’m a bit confused about what could be a good core to start this faction.

    thank you!
