I voted yes as Stormcast are the poster boys for the game. The game is called "Age of Sigmar" so it would be a bit weird that you don't have the warriors of Sigmar in the starter set! :D

But cities of sigmar have "sigmar" in the name ;)!

Edit: I voted no because I think it would be better if the starter armies changed so other factions would get new miniatures. We have way to many Space Marines and stormcasts.

    Two examples:

Ogres vs Idoneth - Battle of the hungry souls.

Ossiarch bonereapers vs slaves to darkness - both could be really easy to paint.

I used Adobe as I have it for work. There are dozens of free programs avalible which you can use to convert. Just google epub to pdf converter.

Hmm, I need to try it again. Didn't work well when I tried with the 2nd Lrl book a couple years ago.

I never really played Warhammer fantasy besides space Marines as proxies for the Empire as a kid with my brother. I will however probably buy a launch box for wood elves box so that my old CoS living city with "wanderers" get an army. I also ordered Orion from eBay, a couple years that would fit in that army.

I understand those that feel it's lame that they sell old models, but I would say that it's better than nothing!

  3. To the 40 k players:
So, the latest edition of 40k launched with index cards. The new releases update these cards? Do they still offer the basic rules for free, or you have to buy the new book to play?

Would be neat if GW did offer the rules for the armies free in the new edition, but sell the book for lore, art and such reasons.

I see a lot of folks say kruleboyz were hard to paint, but with contrasts I found them pretty easy to paint. At least the stuff in the starter box. There were a few things like the structure on the back of the sludgeraker that were a bit of a pain but I found them pretty painless overall.

What I find them harder compared to the Stormcast, is all the crooked metal and nails. But yeah, contrast paints work really well with them!

I think chaos dwarfs during 3rd is just hopium at this point.

assuming FEC is released in Jan/Feb and new edition is July I think it’s more likely that we’d get a Dawnbringers book V with either the rumours Fyreslayers wave or a second cities/lumiineth wave.

incidentally the cities book changed the map of Aqshy and turns the Forge Anathema from a chaos dwarf forge to a fyreslayers lodge

it's about time Lumineth got something new! /s

    What about Kurnothi?

    Always applicable.

Take in mind that The Light of Eltharion only reduce damage, not wounds or mortal wounds.

Kurnoth Hunters with Greatsword do 1mw in addition to any normal damage. In that case, that 2 damage from the weapon will be halved to 1, and 1 mw can't be reduced. If that attack had a trigger to do 2 mw instead of 1, Spirit Armour could not reduce the incoming mortal wounds.

    Thanks for your answer!

  8. 1:

Fangsword of Eltharion have a rule that add 1 to wound on charge, then it says In a new sentence "in addition" that 6s gives mortal wounds. Is that only if he charges or it's always applicable?

    2:

Also the same with spirit master:

First part is to ignore positive and negative modifiers and then "in addition halve the damage inflicted by attacks made by missile or melee weapons.

Does that mean if an attack by Kurnoth hunters with great sword that inflict 2 mortal wounds if they get a 6 on the hit, do 2 mortals wounds or 1 (since it was an attack with a weapon)?

    ___

I assume spells or abilities that do mortal wounds go through with full damage.

    Grateful for clarification.

    Sincerely a confused player.

Looks like Duradin and Aelves are still going to be in Cities.

Wonder if the wanderers stay too? Otherwise my CoS army is pretty large chunks of my CoS army is invalid (at least there will be the old world!).

Not big fan of the Scorpion back, but otherwise nice models!

I'll take some more Kruleboyz, troggs, and a side of Gitmob please.

    Thanks. 🤘

I'm working on my Kruleboyz from the Dominon box right now. Some of the models are Lumineth level hard to paint :/! Maybe I'm lazy, but I feel the Stormcast was way easy to paint ;D!

I would like to see factions that need some more love get models, but it will probably be Cities of Sigmar! (My first Aos army made of wood elves, that probably will get ditched in the new book).

I don't think any faction is missing.

It might be one of the earlier factions redone.

It might aso be new . . .

It's actually the new Lumineth book! GW know that i haven't played them since the new book, so why not sell a new one?

It may be that the image I got was too blurred, but from the GMG review I saw Stormcast, DoK, Idoneth, and Sylvaneth as the only allies.  I will of course be confirming once I can get my book this weekend, but I didn't see Cities on that list.

I also didn't see Cities of Sigmar, but it would be neat since my first army was Cities of Sigmar, and then I got Stormcast with the dominion box.

Looking at windchargers, it says that ward rolls cannot be made for wounds or mortal wounds caused by attacks made with missile weapons by this unit. Wind chargers are not able to do mortal wounds though, right?

Does the daggers really count in "sunmetal weapons" for sentinels? the "fluff" text says arrows and blades, but the rules say attacks made by this unit.

Is it just me or does bladelords not feel more worth taking now?

Another question that came up last time I played a game (sometime before summer)

The Wall of blades on wardens, is that if my wardens charge that trigger the ability, or is it if they get charged by someone? I get confused since it says "the target unit"

Teclis - Same as before but after som dmg its 2 spells that are cast as a d12 and then in the end only 4 spells with d10 roll?

As expected, the Lumineth book is mostly minor tweaks to warscrolls and allegiance abilities.

Very hard to get excited about playing this new edition with my army and paying £32.50 on new hardback books when there's barely anything that changes in the rules.

I got it mostly for streamlined rules and path to glory

Agreed. I'm dismayed by how many people are saying "well done for owning thr mistake and fixing it with errata" . We shouldn't need errata, the books should be good in the first place. I hate that gw have bred a culture where we expect to buy unbalanced books and aplaude them when they change the rules two weeks later. They will sell this book for at least a couple of years, faults and all.

If they really can't playtest things robustly without community input then they should sposhing well switch to open playtesting. Release every book's rules six months before it goes to print. Let everyone play it, and then release a fine tuned version when it's ready. Plenty of other companies do just that and people still buy the books. If anything its free marketing.

If they are serious about fixing this book then they should reprint it. Delay the release and let everyone have the actual rules in their book and not tucked in the back on a bit of paper.

maybe this is why we haven't seen the new Lumineth book 😒?
