  1. FYI Everyone, Mini Mag just added rank bases specifically for shining company. Cavalry Clouds too for Dawn Riders. They come in BTB single ranks of 3-7 wide and the ranks fit together to make any depth you wish in shining company I reached out to them with some specs to make some for us, and he showed me the designs when complete, really cool that they are so responsive to the community. Although I would have preferred some ready built double ranks to build with the singles, these are more flexible and can build any configuration except 10 wide. For those you could combine any of the smaller trays like 3,7 or 5,5. You can find them under the 32 mm straight close entries for infantry. Are we allowed to post links to the site? I was just involved in early design process and am not making any money from it.
  2. So when do the army bundles and start collecting boxes usually come out? It would make the most sense to have a unit of wardens and sentinels for the legions, is that what we expect? Or are they gonna go SotM and Hammer Bro’s?
  3. So have any of you that have played already or really been hammering out lists come up with unit sizes and how you are going to rank your wardens? I mentioned I had seen initial designs for shining company mag bases, so if there is any kind of common thread maybe I can drop the manufacturer your needs and make sure that those configurations aren’t missed. personally I was thinking 2x5 in 10 man, 2x10 and 7x6x7 in 20 man and 3x10 in 30 man. The 3 Rank bases would be made by combining a double and single rank, so that these can be used for sentinels as well. Anything else?
  4. I have personal knowledge of some being designed as we speak. Very nice stuff. It’s coming boys don’t worry...
  5. That’s pretty sound reasoning, thanks for the explanation!
  6. Oh I see. That is clever observation. Are the temples only Teclian? I thought they were apart from the political or cultural structure almost religious. Like a nation is either Teclian or Tyrionic but all the temples would exist in all the nations kind of like aspect warriors.
  7. Hey thanks for the response! Sorry I didn’t qualify thematically very well... I meant in the context of a Dragon Rider of old created from scratch, you’re right he has nothing really to do with Lumineth as yet, other than them being the approximate High Elf equivalent. The only point of this was to be able to still use the model. I play locally so it shouldn’t be an issue. Thanks for the points on the Lance and armour. Striking a balance is really hard with the anvil, actually agonizing. There aren’t many ways to get more than 1 save and it’s expensive. Do you think the offense is overkill for a big game hunter and I need to shift more resources to D? Lastly you can only use these characters in matches if the opponent allows it. But if they do, I don’t see any reason why you can’t take the amulet. They gain the keywords required to become the faction and then the Great Nation says; “When you choose a Lumineth Realm Lords army, you can give you can give it a great nation keyword from the list. All Lumineth Realm Lords units gain the keyword.” So keyword wise it’s eligible and I don’t see anything in the Anvil to say they count as named characters, and can’t be given artefacts. Wonder if something like this is worth them FAQing. One one hand they are like house rules, but on the other they did print the rules in an official book. But my guess is this is all hinging on your opponent giving permission in matched anyway.
  8. Fresh from the Anvil of Apotheosis, Caledor lives on! After a rebasing and some touch ups to bring them in line with my scheme of course. So I need some critiques. Tell me if this hits the mark thematically and if it will be somewhat effective on the table. I am not looking for pure power so ethereal is out. Terror should probably be in here but I just couldn’t spare the point, which is part of the genius and fun of the Anvil. I was agonizing haha. LOGIC AND INFO 400 points, max damage 39 plus the breath weapon, role is big damage, objective clearing, and board control as we get mortal wounds from other sources. So I will be using Iliatha Nation, it was between that and Syar, but I think that the Simulacra Amulet is just too good for a model like this. As an alternative Syar would make my force more flexible with the reserves and I would worry less about the weapon being potent with their artifact, so I could build more for durability that way. I am planning a Cathallar, 2 blocks of 20 wardens and 2 blocks of 20 Sentinels or one of 20 and one of 10 as the core of the army to take advantage of the twin command trait and the Legion Battalion. The bravery boost will be nice as this guy will be far from home probably, so they need to be self sufficient. Other than that, I am thinking of some Dawnriders for crowd control and speed, and the endless spell Petrification to control the board with 2 big area threats along with the dragon. Still room under 2k to try complimentary pieces. SELF CRITIQUE So this guy isn’t what I am used to from a durability standpoint, being rather squishy for such a big threatening model that will surely get aggro. I am going to have to use speed, terrain, and buffs to last, but that’s also part of the draw of Iliatha and the Amulet as insurance, which is why I didn’t try to focus more on protection. Do I need to go more rend on the Lance? How effective is -2 against most things? Is three drops low enough to get first turn most of the time? Hopefully in the matchups I don’t, I won’t face a force built to shoot him off the table before he can do anything, but sometimes that’s just how it goes and I am hoping it won’t be too frequent. Thanks for taking the time to read and respond! prince-t__00fbrion-rilyaloc__00eb-and-laur__00ebdrauginir-the-golden (1).pdf
  9. Good points. From what I can see just generally. Syar helps bigger units with the double aetherquartz Iliatha helps MSU by conferring command traits to more than one unit. Ymetrica is Mountain centric Zaitrec is magic overload
  10. You lose shining company on both units in the second example no? The first is very interesting. I haven’t played since warhammer fantasy. There used to be diminishing returns having too many casters (running out of dice) is that not the case anymore? And if we run smaller units, at what point do they lose combat effectiveness and how easy is it to take the wounds to get them there. How many guys can you lose from the 10 while still being a threat, and how easy will it be for the opponent to get them to that point? In Fantasy I used to take an extra ~15-20% in a unit assuming they would be lost before I reached combat. So if I need 10 dragon princes in combat, id take 12 to start accounting for probable losses. Is there no such considerations beyond needing 5 wardens and sentinels or 3 daw riders to cast?
  11. Cool, so they can be ~1 inch wider than the opponent on both ends of the unit and still be in range for most models to attack. About putting high warden front and center, are there precision strikes In combat or anything to worry about? Sniping him out in other phases? He’s more valuable as a wizard right? Could he be back a couple ranks and still cast or does that interfere with line of sight? I am guessing you can’t remove front rank models, so if you don’t put him front and center he would have to be removed as an earlier casualty if his back or middle rank is depleted?
  12. So if we are going to be ranking up again, how best to place the models? Honeycomb seems to let you retain base contact no matter which models are removed. How big are units and how are you going to deploy them? 3 ranks? Where is the champion going? Lastly, does this mean unit fillers are back on the menu?
