  1. The troll king still gives me goosebumps. You are an inspiration & your conversions (including all that sculpting & the spot on paint job) are a work of art. Infinity/10
  2. Hi! I will attempt to sculpt a model almost entirely from scratch & wonder about the standard size/measurements (in cm not unit size) of the following models: 1. Warcry Iron Golem 2. The basic Gor 3. CoS Steam Tank I own a couple of BoC Gor but they are sadly at my parents house right now (a good 5 hours away) & with the current pandemic I try to stay at home as much as possible. I intend to create a small cadre of Khorne Gors to use as a Warcry Warband (count as Iron Golems?) based on https://ageofsigmar.lexicanum.com/wiki/Volundr_of_Hesphut. This would help me greatly!
  3. Perhaps this can be of use? https://victoriaminiatures.com/collections/female-squads-and-bits
  4. "The Crawling City is a city-state on the Amber Steppes of Ghur. It is built on the back of the Great Worm Shu'gohl.[1] High aloft the Amber Steppes the city has weathered the tide of Chaos that have flowed around it on the Steppes. As the other Great Worms it is ever-moving and isolated, Shu'gohl is unique in so that it leaves a poisonous trail after it. The ground go black and anyone coming in contact with it wither, eaten from the inside by black worms." (https://ageofsigmar.lexicanum.com/wiki/Crawling_City) Introduction Hi everyone & welcome to my sculpture & painting diary which will centered around the amber steepes of Ghur & the metropolis which is the Crawling City. If you decide to follow this thread you will (hopefully) witness my process of creating a CoS-army based on the Crawling CIty, the nomads of Vurm-Tai & the Black Marsh Barony. The primary purpose of this thread & by extension this army is to improve my skills at using "greenstuff" & getting myself accostumed to Age of Sigmar its rules & setting. I will hopefully update once per week with either new sculpts, conversions or concept art. To kickstart this journey of mine I decided to start with something bigger & easier to sculpt. Thus the idea of using giant turtles as Steam Tanks where born. I read a snippet of lore which referenced that giant turtles the size of castles where to be found in the Black Marsh Barony so why not start there? They could act as auxillary & if people do not let me use them as placeholders for Steam Tanks then they atleast helped me honing my skills as a sculptor. The progress so far I wanted a stable skeleton to work with. Some sort of scaffold to the epoxy so that the portions & positioning of the model where sort of correct. For this I used iron wire. I drilled several holes in one of my empty "snusdosa" (for those that do not snus is a form of nicotine pouch common in Sweden) & by threading the iron wire through the "snusdosa" I managed to attach the "body" (also consisting of iron wire) to its future shell/carapace. Until next time I will begin sculpting the general form of the turtle as well as constructing a rudimentary cannon for the howdah as well as search the internet for bitz to convert into crewmembers. Quick notes: - English is not my primary language & although I am a teacher (in Swedish & History) it has been several years since I wrote anything of note in English. Pardon my spelling errors & grammatical blunders. - Let me know what you think of this project. Is it worth the effort? Take care!
  5. Hi! I have been lurking this forum for a while now & today I finally took the first step into collecting my CoS army. I used to collect Ogre Kingdoms (3000 pts/during the world-that-was) but sadly feel out of the hobby & when I returned (a decade later) where shocked to find my beloved Old World turned to ruins. It took me a long while to get accustomed to this new setting but when I finally did I found it charming & wonderful in its own peculiar & sometimes bizarre way. My ambition for this venture is to create a CoS from the Realm of Ghur. I intend to start with cavalry, referensing the Vurm-Tai (https://ageofsigmar.lexicanum.com/wiki/Vurm-tai_nomads). I hope to eventually emulate what I perceive to be the army of the Crawling City with auxillaries from the Black Marsh Barony (Siege Turtles counting as Steam Tanks anyone?). As I'm kind of short on cash I will attempt alot of greenstuff sculpturing on my own (hoping that some of my skillset as a mediocre amateur sculptor). If someone has a recommendation regarding cheap substitutes for greenstuff I would be so happy. I hope I will be able to contribute to this wonderful forum in some way. Some short notes: - English is not my primary language. - Her/she is my pronoun. Hope to here from you all soon.
