  1. It was $200AUD but the price was lowered. The new 40k box is $220AUD and that is in line with the US price given the current exchange rate. The pricing structure here in Oz may be changing for the better. Finally. Maybe.
  2. My two cents: - Mordheim-style more detailed skirmish rules. -More Path To Glory factions. -Triumph and Treachery rules like the 8th edition ones. Most fun Warhammer ever! -A random scenario idea generator table like in Rogue Trader. A D66 table of crazy ideas that are stepping off points for narrative games.
  3. Knight-Questor or the Spears of Heaven.
  4. Knight-Questor or the Spears of Heaven.
  5. WIP Orghotts Daemonspew. It is time for a heavy hitter in my army.
  6. Love the dark tones. He's brutal and brooding. Like a Frazetta painting. Great stuff.
  7. That was my guess to but though it was worth asking to clarify. What about the sparrow?
  8. Do, for example, 30 Warriors of chaos in a single unit count as your minimum 3 battleline choices in a 2000pt game? What is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?
  9. I'm not worried one way or another with the idea of Battleline units. This is just ONE of many ways to play. The rules with their points and restrictions have been written with the specific purpose of creating "balanced" armies for use in "competitive" matched play. If you want to take an all monster army or one just of heroes that's still cool, just play a narrative game or using the four page rule set and its scenario. My only concern with the Generals Handbook is that we will get back to the position we were with 8th (or 3rd to 8th edition, to be honest) where the ONLY way anyone ever played was with points and with that one line 'em up and kill 'em scenario. I want the campaigns and the narrative play options in it to outshine the matched play stuff so that we get some variety in our games and events.
  10. They look great. Nice to see some Dryads that are not just brown and green. I think it would translate to the Aelf/Sylvaneth hybrids well. You could go with pale grey/brown skin of the Alef parts and the same dark black/brown for the Dryad parts. It would be a good contrast like the Dryads on the snow. Look forward to seeing them.
  11. THAT'S AWESOME!! That Mierce stuff is fantastic and I love the arrows and spirits you've added. I've been working on these. There is just five but in thinking I may need five more. Wonderful models too.
  12. No, stage-by-stage tutorial or anything like that sorry. The skin is a basecoat of a grey-bone colour (I think I mixed the old Deneb with Vallejo Beige and some old Shadow grey) with did a very light series of shadow grey glazes as the main shades. Then it was the old Elf flesh over the top of this as a glaze again for the main shading and the "blush" effect. The flesh colour over the shadow grey gives the skin depth like real skin and stops her from looking dead; she's just very, very pale skinned. Finally some galzed highlights of Deneb and Deneb and white. Hope that helps.
  13. Welcome and good luck. I feel the same about 40k ATM. It's too much for me. Too many rules and restrictions. And who wants to read a 100+ page book of rules? AoS is much easier and pleasant to get to grips with. Also, I alway appreciate a Coheed and Cambria reference.
  14. I really, really like these. It's an almost perfect colour combo. The Knight-Questor would look great in those colours. Is that too cheeky of me?
  15. They are not bad. The god specific buffs are good, I've been using the Nurgle re-roll all missed To Wound rolls, but they don't put out much damage themselves. The big advantage is that they look scary -- as befits an ace centrepiece model -- and attract more attention than they deserve. I've been putting it in the middle of my battle line to buff things in the early turns and soaking up damage later.
  16. Wonderfully inspiring stuff. Can't wait to see games being played over it.
  17. This is really great news. It has been an exciting few months watching GW engage with the community again. Bodes very well for the future. I hope that they put all the GD pictures they have up going back to the '80s and the out-side of the UK events. (I have a vested interest with that last one as I've won a couple of things down here in OZ )
