Thanks for the compliment. I don't really enjoy painting for competition so i've never thought about Golden Demon. If someone commissioned me to do Golden Demon then I'd probably be more interested :).

Actually I can appreciate the effects of taking care of oneself during a tournament day. Dehydration is a legitimate result of standing, thinking and moving around all day. On more than a few occasions I've woken up the next day feeling hung over from the mental and physical exertion!
Edit:
What's a scenery requirement? I've never encountered that before.
Those dire wolves look great! I'll second the suggestion to just go and aim to have fun. It took a few tournaments for me to understand that but once I did the whole experience became much more enjoyable.
What is that case you have your GHB in? I would love to get one! Would perhaps preclude the need to spiral bind the book, and it would be reusable for each subsequent version!
The scenery requirement is 4 pieces of painted scenery, luckily I have tonnes so that was no issue.
The case i have my GHB in is just an A4 plastic case from tesco (uk), it was only a few £ and it holds my lists and event printouts etc...

Where did you get that case for the tokens and markers?? I have the same tokens and that would be much easier than my current way of dropping them all in a plastic bag.
Its from ikea. I believe it was full of screws before it was re purposed

You should be pleased, it's a really solid paintjob on your slaughterpriest

Great work! It's great to see halflings still knocking about. I think there's still a place for them somewhere in the mortal realms

Looks great Steve!
I don't think it's cheating, it's just clever use of techniques to get a great result

I agree with cb-rex keep the bases neutral so it doesn't detract from the minis.
I'd be mindful of using a different tone of green on the bases, maybe stick to just the brown tones or only use greens in the same tonal gradient as the green on the dryads.
Great looking stuff

Yeah I'm painting one up at the moment too, ID have had it finished sooner but I removed the dead horse from his hand which was a very unpleasant hobby experience.
Don't forget plonk a garden of morr down and get another +1 to cast

Great results and nice that you used the resources GW has for painting as i think theyre underated.
Solid photography too.
Well done, looking forward to seeing more.

Nice colour combo maybe adding some bright green warpstone to some of the bases would enhance it even more?

I used an old digital camera. I really need to upgrade my set up, I've just bought a new background today as the one I've used for the Sylvaneth is ever so slightly blue.
