For example: the Italian battletome of Cities of Sigmar is softcover and shorter than the English one: 20 pages are missing because some of the lore doesn't get translated. As a result, the Italian version costs 20€ instead of the 32,5€ that they ask for the English version. Another example: everything gets translated in the German version of the battletome, but it's still softcover so it costs 25€. So they might theoretically do a cheaper, softcover version in English too... they just choose not to.
