  1. Exactly, ever since the battalions were removed from matched play Alarith/Hurakan in general suffered. But if the temple subfactions become playable again there will be a lot of new lists.
  2. New BT looks imminent friends! With a gorgeous new model as well. can’t wait!
  3. This is 100% not true haha, id expect like all 3.0 tomes there will be a complete overhaul of the subfactions, which is a very big deal for LRL. Because it is a big range with very specific units (Alarith, Hurakan) the 3.0 will have a lot of consequences for LRL. That’s why right not you basically only see Teclis/Sentinels or Fox lists.
  4. The new Enlightener looks amazing; and I’ll have to sell off a bunch of Tzeentch ****** I guess
  5. That is a hot fire new scroll. Too bad the update to Sylvaneth was too big to fit in with my other projects, all good stuff, I hope they finally get Wyldwoods right.
  6. That was a pretty good day for AoS. Lots of new models and a reveal about the overhaul of CoS. Good stuff.
  7. It’s an astounding paint job on a great sculpt. Before the awards went out I saw pictures of that mini in the case on social media and you can tell how perfect the work is. Congrats to Gavin and a solid win for US of A painters. Although my favorite painter in the world isn’t American
  8. thanks for the advice! After the initial review of the new book one thing that just now stuck out to me is we did not play the objective game well in the transition into 3.0. We have no objective shenanigans, and I think that change hits the Akhelian Guard really hard in 3.0, and more so in the new tome with the scrolls/points of Ishlaen/Morrsarr. this list has some footslogging bodies and a few heavy hitters , King, Sharks, Turtle to do be mobile and do work on enemy territory. I’ll check out those artifacts, I guess Unstoppable Fury does make sense on the King now when you can double dip High Tide. So good haha.
  9. Moving on from the silly combat sequencing argument… the new warscrolls are up on the WH AoS app so list build away my friends. I think I may be copying a list earlier, but I’m thinking of my first build for game one with the new book… I’m not really sure on Command Traits/Artefact but I’ll wait till I get the book in hand on Saturday to decide. Nautilar Tidecaster Akhelian King 10 Thralls 10 Thralls 10 Reavers 2 Sharks w/Harpoons 2 Sharks w/Harpoons Leviadon
  10. Sorry homie, that is not how activations work.
  11. On first glance my major dissapointment is Ishlaen Guard. They were an MVP unit for most of the first tome and then going up to the same cost as Morrsarr seems not right at the high cost. Also, there is no sub faction that is clearly the Akhelian Guard build. This book is clear that we are paying for the sins of the past of eel spam lists. that being said there is so much to this book. It is DEEP. So many Once Per Game shenanigans and ways to boost the rituals. The Dhom-Hain allegiance ability is nuts. People are going to be terrified to play this army because of how much variability there will be instead of watching out for High Tide on Turn 3. it’s going to take a lot of games to find the right build.
  12. Don’t forget AoA still applies to mounts, and there doesn’t seem to be too many command abilities on the scrolls eating up CP. So the King and Volty giving out +1 to hit excluding mounts is kind of a freebie.
  13. The Turn 3 Ritual as rumored seems so suspect. 5++ on Namarti? That’s pretty lame, considering High Tide has some kind of strike first effect why would a 5++ on Thralls be necessary or even make sense?
  14. Super cool with the new rituals. Army wide +1 to Run and Charge is so, so good. I’m very excited to see the whole book. As long as Forgotten Nightmares stays the same I think I will be happy. I think the Allegiance ability has kept the IDK 1.0 tome so viable for so long.
  15. The fires of Grimnir burn within you my guy
  16. Right there with you, there was a time I was wishing there was a way to build a tide flip Fuethan list with no Namarti. After playing with the Fury of the Deep Thralls/Reavers scrolls I think they have a significant place in a list. the new tome can’t come out soon enough so we see the full picture!
  17. The Bloodthirsty Shiver rule isn’t as enticing as the Allopex Alpha hitting on 2’s while re-rolling 1’s to hit in Flood Tide in Fuethan right now while getting rerolling ones to wound on the bites all the time. Just need to see the new tome at this point.
  18. I played a game versus SCE Annihilator heavy build to test some of the new scrolls that were updated in Fury of the Deep. And I have to say the MVP were the two units of Thralls, list below. Fuethan Tidecaster - General, Master of Magic, Steed of Tides Eidolon of the Storm - Arcane Tome, Flaming Weapon 10 Thralls 10 Thralls 10 Reavers 3 Ishlaen 3 Morrsarr 2 Allopex Leviadon First Blood he takes top of one, moves his whole army toward the center and drops one unit of annihilators to the bottom right objective. In my turn I get mystic shield and flaming weapon up on my Eidolon and move up in a loose castle, pushing the reavers to my top left objective. He wins priority and throws Stormdrake Guard into my Ishlaen screen and drops two units of annihilators near the top right objective, and makes one charge of annihilators into my eidolon. The SDG kill the Ishlaen after spiking MW shots. Eidolon fails one save, piles in and whiffs on all 2’s. Thralls pile in and wipe the annihilators! Huge difference with 2” reach. in my turn 2, i get the Morrsarr/Allopex in position to charge and kill a unit of shield annihilators on the bottom right objective. The turtle, Thralls, and Eidolon go in on the SDG and wipe them, and the Reavers managed to plink off an annihilator that failed their charge in the top of 2. I get my Aggresive Expansion off the outer objectives and have killed the SDG and annihilators. he wins prio again but gives me the turn and burns the bottom right objective. which I call broken ranks on a unit of Retirbutors, by his turn he’s got his Knight-Imperatant and Praetors left in the center. The Eidolon, Thralls, Leviadon, and Allopex were each putting out 8-12 wounds a piece in each combat. Five Thralls managed to merk a Knight Judicator on their own, 2” reach is a MASSIVE change. As long as Thralls can make it in combat, when they are hitting on 2’s and 2’s they are Stormcast murderers. Thralls and Allopexes impressed me, I did not run the Thrallmaster, but in a list like this, I think he’d be useful. Reavers were interesting, I was using their decent shooting to bait all out defense so I could then change targets and snipe with Allopexes, D3 damage is nice off the harpoons, but I was rolling a lot of 1’s on the D3. He conceded after my T3 and it was an absolute blowout. Every unit was a hammer, the only disappointment was the Morrsarr since AoA was getting used by the Eidolon. overall, I loved the feel of the list, playing with mostly different lists feels a lot better than Eel spam.
  19. At least Nautilar has a purpose now haha.
  20. That would absolutely take the unit up a level if it was a hero.
  21. It says they can 20 damage without the rider attacks, which is actually less than right now. 4 fin attacks at 4 damage per and 2 bites at 3 damage per is 22 damage without the rider attacks. assuming top bracket.
  22. Can we get the source for the Sylvaneth tome leak????
