  1. I feel that GW will buy the video creator out and put it on Warhammer plus.
  2. I am going to invest in those circular regiment bases for sure. Although using this as an excuse to get a Beastmen army is tempting. Alternatively, I could get some Kislev, Nippon, or Araby and build up a City of Sigmar to go along with my Stormcast.
  3. It is mostly wish listing, but it is tied to some speculation based on the awesome Morghur Broken realm story, and the principal focus of the edition being on Ghur. Essentially it is easy to speculate on the Beasts rising in prominence during this edition but when that will be and if that is going to be felt in terms of narrative, rules or new models is anyone's guess. However, the same could be said about many other armies at this point. I also think it is safe to assume that there will be some kind of expansion for God Marked Chaos Beasts, to get further support as it feels strange to only have Slaanesh and Tzeentch represented. But I wouldn't willingly wager wether Pestigors and Khornegors would release with BoC or their God Specific tomes. I also secretly hold out hope for Beasts of Chaos as a faction in 40k to become a thing but that is neither here nor there. 😛
  4. I have a small Beast Claw Army and they would love to worship the dark gods and go on a rampage or bring my Dominion SCE up to 2000 points.
  5. I mean along with Radukar these make awesome Maneaters of Shyish!
  6. I am utterly blown away by this reveal it is in Greater Demon or Morathi tier for me. I absolutely love it and it nails the buzzard meets Basalisk/Cockatrice aesthetic I was hoping for. I am much more partial towards the special character build but I will be happy to see either on the tabletop. I can only hope the Stormcast reveals will be half as nice as this terror of the skies. I am a big fan of the Bayou orcs. But I also really want to see someone make a more Nile river themed version of this army with Egyptian Vultures and Nile Crocodiles paint schemes: Just googled Australian vultures... I think there are a lot of cool possible biomes to draw inspiration from for this army.
  7. Well deserved my friend, most love and best wishes from the whole community. ❤️ Now back to the rumours, has anyone seen these new boxes in person and do we know what to expect for previews today? My guess is that we are getting the new starter sets and the terrain set in the coming week.
  8. Someone on reddit posted images of new boxes for 3.0. I am not sure if it has been posted on here before. Overall I really like the aesthetic but maybe it is because I think the mini's look better in a proper diegetic space than a white void. Here is the original link: https://www.reddit.com/r/ageofsigmar/comments/omozla/3rd_ed_rebox_it_seems_wonder_if_it_has_updated/
  9. So I am just scratching the surface of 3.0 and I am really excited for Path to Glory but with settling in at a new job it is something on the back burner, also having completed a lengthy day I have no clue if what I am writing makes any sense. But I have a bit of question in relationship to Path To Glory. If I wanted to use it as the basis for a narrative campaign but I was content with my 2000 points army could I just build towards what I currently have, will I have to purchase additional models in terms of 'fitting' the criteria of where I am in my 'Path', or can I just run my army at 2000 points and use the rewards that are not specifically for adding further units?
  10. Amazing news! Congrats to my best internet comrade in plastic arms. Hopefully GW catches wind and creates a celebratory model for the best AOS fan!
  11. I am really hoping that Malerion's forces have a mixture of Shadowy Aelves and Draconic Aelves. I also want some updated takes on the coldone riders with more traditional draconic mounts. Maybe more serpentine than the Stormcast Dracoth mounts.
  12. I feel like this ought to be it's own discussion so I will jump back to rumours in a second. I think that Stormcast have a terrific and iconic design and that it has its roots in Corinthian and similar helmet designs of antiquity. Furthermore when Stormcast are painted in a bronze I feel the aesthetic influence becomes a lot more clear and visually appealing. However, many people including myself are more interested in a more medieval feel for our heroic paladins. This is why heads swaps are so prevalent and I think the more knightly armour of the Thunderstrike make that aesthetic more desirable. Personally I am shopping around for heads before I begin building my Stormcast but I also know that it will limit me somewhat when buying second hand models, as I do not want to be forced to remove an older head and have to purchase new knight heads each set of models. So Stormcast helmets are an absolute positive in terms of iconography and extratextual reference but they do feel odd next to the more medieval aesthetic of most other factions. However, I am finding most of the newer armies are leaning more towards antiquity and maybe one day the reverse will be true and Bretonnian/Chaos warrior style helmets will be the ones to stick out like a sore thumb. Back to rumours/speculation, if they were to release a Nurgle/Sylvaneth box I think that would be a great way to further tease Kurnothi aelves. Have the pack come with a new champion of Nurgle and Wardancer faun hero for the Sylvaneth. With Kroak and Be'Lakor making such stunning transformations into plastic is it time for the Harbinger of Decay to join the other two best former legacy resin kits into plastic glory? I think they could even do a companion terrain release for Warcry with a Feculant Gnarlmaw and Wyldwood with some small ruins. Here would be my hope for a nice theme: Hunters in the Garden, Kurnoth has re-embodied and wants to take a more proactive role in combating threats to the woods and with the adundance of life energy takes the fight to Nurgle's gardens directly. Sylvaneth: 1x Kurnothi Aelf hero. 2x Kurnoth hunters Nurgle: 1 Harbringer, 2x Blight kings
  13. Everything you said sounds pretty solid and extremely plausible, but since it was not Malerion Aelves, Chaos Dwarves or Dark Mechanicum I shall instead refuse to acknowledge your theory in favour of geeky denial. In all reality I think this is a really good list... I guess my only question is whether or not a new dual box could be in the cards for AOS alongside the Chaos announcement or is it still too early in 3.0?
  14. I actually like Warcry more than AOS proper, but most of my friends prefer the epic scale of 2000 point games. My only personal issue with Warcry was the roll out for supplementary books. I still only have the initial core rules and sometimes have to wrap my head around some of the additional rules.
  15. Nice little tongue in cheek retrospective for AOS, but sadly nothing really noteworthy or new... and overall it is an advert for plus which I am not going to get: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2021/07/14/lets-look-at-how-far-the-mortal-realms-have-come-since-our-first-battles-in-the-realmgate-wars/ Never forget when Sigmar yeeted the titular Warhammer at Archaon and then retired from fighting.
  16. Strange question, but will we get a live preview for all the SCE and Kruelboyz minis or will they drop some in a more low key manner?
  17. As a chaos player Creature Caster has been on my radar for some time but these two are new to me and all I can say is wow. These two dragons stood out to me as really awesome proxies for Zombie and Chaos Dragons* respectively: https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-werewolf-dragon-141759 https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-tiamat-148463 I sadly do not really know anything about 3d printing so I feel they aren't in the cards for me. As for big beasts in the mortal realms I was going to respond with an enormous list, but then I realized your point was correct as most of the creatures and beasts I was going to list are from the World that Was. The newer ranges like Stormcast, Lumineth, Fyreslayers, IDK, Soulblight and each Destruction army** all have some kind of new relatively big beast. The Chaos factions got updates to a number of demonic centre pieces... but overall relatively few truly new big monsters. *I guess technically a proxy for Archaon/Drogor in this case as there are no Chaos Dragon rules sadly **Except ogors whose bigger monsters are all from the WHFB
  18. I am enjoying all the dragon love particularly the focus on Chaos dragons*. I am still hopeful that we will see one in its two headed glory in the not too distant future. I am also tempted to try and make something fantasy based out of the Helldrake but I sincerely doubt my capabilities. Although if Chaos Dwarves do get released either as part of Slaves to Darkness or stand alone I might get an infantry hero and place him on the back of a hell drake and run it as some kind of demon engine or even a Soulgrinder. I will admit I have a strange fondness for the Stardrake, and do not really understand all the hate. Maybe I relate to an awkward dragon wearing way too much armour... My only issue is that it is a little outside my price range for my little Stormcast force. That is why I am personally hoping for more a midrange option between a Dracoth and Stardrake. Malerion leaning heavily towards dragons is the only reason I am a little suspicious about the idea of Tyrion mounted on a dragon. Give us back Malhandir and make him a Pegasus/Unicorn with a weird/dope Lumineth mask! *which of course includes and the Hell Pit Abomination!
  19. To start things off, I sadly do not have any dragons in my lists, nor have I ever owned a Games Workshop dragon in my collection. I am personally enamoured by the idea of dragons as wandering beasts that can be allied to any army. A kit that had optional builds to make it suitable for each grand alliance would be fantastic. However, I feel like the direction the lore is pointing towards right now is the idea that certain armies will have access to dragons and they will be tied to that specific faction. I do think there is something interesting about the manner in which dragons seem to be more heavily tied to Order as they are related to the Seraphon and both Stormcast and Cities have dragons as well as hints in artwork that Lumineth make use of dragons as well.
  20. A well earned retirement, his work has lead to countless hours of fun and is greatly appreciated. 😁
  21. Hey everyone, Between the recent Broken Realms short story and Kragnos' origin, I have seen a number of people extremely excited at the prospect of a return of dragons to prominence within the lore and hopefully on the tabletop. I thought it would be fun to have a dedicated thread to the topic and maybe even a place to share your own dragons. What are you personally hoping to see from one of the biggest staple elements of fantasy and such an important but currently underrepresented part of the mortal realms? I also want to start this thread with the notion that all dragons are welcome. No taxonomical discrimination between drakes, wyrms, undead, Dragonogor, wyverns/cabbages, dinosaur mounted dinosaur, or mutated demonic threeheaded horses. Heck maybe your dragon is a free guild general with the heart of a dragon! If it is a dragon to you it is more than welcome by me.
  22. This is exciting news as I have just jumped on the Thunderstrike Express! I am split between wanting a new centre piece and wanting a unit of flying drakes. Alternatively, Seraphon are so cool they don't need dragons. "Hey Sigmar take this fire breathing winged lizard off our hands, it messes with our Mesoamerica/Jurassic Park vibe". I am not a fan of Space Marines but if that is how Grey Knights look going forward and they are doing a dual release with Thousand Sons (one of my friend's main armies) I might be in trouble. Oh that is a great deal, also the mage in that box feels much less redundant than the Lord-Imperatant as I can more easily use her as a Knight Incantor or Lord Exorcist.
  23. I really like the new sets but as I have the SCE side of Dominion there is not that much value for me as I do not see myself taking an additional unit of Praetors (even if they are my favourite) or an additional Lord-Imperatant. The smaller box is a possibility if my friend that took the Kruelboy half is interested.
  24. If this is true, the idea that I can run all my Slaves to Darkness in Old world has me really excited... I guess I have to invest in those regiment trays that can fit circular bases. Hopefully GW will understand the market for them an make some themselves but I feel like this will be more of a 3rd party styled thing to accommodate for different unit sizes. Actually I think my Ogors are fairly useable as well but I am not sure I would be able to run pure Beastclaw Raiders in that system. Also, if they are actually sharing a scale I will get an Old World army that I will run as Cities of Sigmar in AOS... with my Dominion Stormcast hopefully filling in any gaps for where proxies fall short.
  25. As with most of these abbreviations I have been reading it as Chaos Dwarf rather than phonetically... although a lot of these shorthands often translate to gamers that like to keep things with a weird internal lexicon which I am never a fan of as it can be difficult for new players to keep up... I use the term wysiwyg online but I cringe each and every time. But if and when Chaos Dwarfs get released they will get an official army designation and likely a more suiting acronym... I assume they will have a Latin or Greek styled name followed by Furnace Kings... For example they could have a name like Igneous Furnace Kings which would simply become IFK.
