  1. Thanks again @Hagen. I'm very happy with the banner, might just be the smoothest banner I've ever painted. I saw the Aos28 hashtag on instagram a couple of times. I'm very intrigued and would love to put together a warband (or two), allthough time will be an issue. I really should clear some of my backlog before getting into another project. I do love to convert and come up with backstories, so this is just perfect. Consider the seed planted...
  2. up next are daemonettes. I finally finished the unit. Not completely happy with the pic. I'm still figuring out how to get pictures that are perfectly sharp and well lit, playing around with lighting and camera settings. any tip?
  3. It's about freakin' time I post some updates. I've finished Lileath and a unit of daemonettes. I haven't taken proper photos of the daemonettes but Lileath has posed for the camera. Looking at the pic I'm not happy with the eyes. But it has been a joy to paint her, the mistweaver model is amazing. If she is any indication for the upcoming elves we're in for a treat. The arm is shaping up nicely and I finally feel like I'm clearing some of my backlog. Let me know what you think, more stuff to follow shortly (I hope)
  4. I think I can wait until summer for aelves and slaanesh... need to save up to spend it all on my two favorite armies (combined?). is your source implying that the winged daemon=malerion? Cause I thought that was obvious.
  5. I actually really like the new mounts. Looks gun to paint. If only there wasn't a stormcast on top of it. Allthough I even like the sleeker look of these scouts. I wonder though, will we ever see a horse again, or only fantasy beasts? The pelts these new stormcasts are wearing don't really look like they come from weird fantasy beasts...
  6. I just thought by myself how simular the artwork is to silver tower. That piece has the big baddie in the background. So looking at the background we see... a stormcast ?
  7. This time it will be the other way around. The guys in the new box are allready available:( first we get yet another stormcast release and then a whq box with only excisting models? A big part of the appeal (to me) of silver tower was all those amazing new models. Mistweaver, ogroid thaumaturge, tzaangors, kairic acolytes, brimstone horrors... all new units with exceptional great models. A shame we won't get another amazing box like that
  8. @hagen thanks! I wanted to do this conversion ever since silver tower was released. The mist and the moon iconography is begging to be used as lileath. I'm with you in hoping we will see a continuation of the storyline with lileath's haven. @Davariel i'm really pleased with the face, the mask bothered me too. Otherwise the model is exquisite. If this is any indication on the quality of future aelves then every elf player can be happy. I'm going to try and paint Some more daemonettes and then I've got some dark elf stuff planned.
  9. Although I'm still working on the daemonettes on foot, I got distracted by the arrival of a belated christmas gift for myself. I got the Mistweaver Saih on sale from bitsandkits. The model is amazing and it makes me very curious to see what the elves will look like when they finally get some love in AoS. I converted the model to represent Lileath (godess of dreams and fate, often associated with moon iconography) after she lost most of her power during the final stage of the end times. I swapped the mirror mask for a female head and got rid of some of the spikes. She won't be painted right away though, I need to finish some other stuff first. I really shouldn't buy more miniatures...
  10. Atia posted there will also be a new plastic changeling.
  11. Maybe the piece of the world that was that grants a look into the future is a remnant of the Phoenix temple on ulthuan. In the chamber of secrets membera of the Phoenix guard could read the future in wordt written with fire. this is just a guess ofcourse. But it Could be a way to expand on the Phoenix temple faction.
  12. Damn, that is one Awesome daemon. So many Nice details. I especially love the wavy feathers on his wingtips and the hunched pose. I can only hope one day we'll see an equally awesome keeper of secrets. Maybe next year will be Slaanuari... Also, no shared sprue with Magnus.
  13. The last couple of days have been productive, meaning I've finished 3 models:P First up is Sigvald, really an awesome model/ I had a blast painting him and challenging myself to do the best NMM I've done so far. before starting on the mounted daemonettes I've gotten from made to order, I thought it would be a good idea to get the daemonttes on foot done. That have been lying around , ready to get painted, for months. The first two are up and I'm really happy with the color scheme. They'll fit nicely with my keeper of secrets.
  14. there is a boxed game coming featuring dark eldar gangs fighting each other on hoverboards. The harpoon piece could very well be used by a model in that game. I don't think we often see a metal shaft for a weapon in AoS. what confuses me on the harpoon is the blue circle, which is painted like a light and not as a gem.
  15. I picked up my daemonettes last week, and they had been zitting in the GW store for at least a week. Before that I got a confirmation email that they were made and would be send.
  16. work took up all my time, but two weeks of Christmas holliday are finally here. I've got a lot of projects on the go, my backlog just keeps growing. But I've managed to finish some things. Here's what I'm working on. First up are the sisters of silence , converted (slightly) to fit in as Slaaneshi chosen. I've ordered the old female inquisitor to take the unit up to 6 models. after finishing the sisters I got a little sidetracked by an idea I had for Sylvaneth. I thought it would be cool to sculpt mushrooms on the faces of dryads to make them look like 'clickers' from the Last of us game. Painting dryads was also a fun break from painting NMM and dark armour. Right now I've started work on Sigvald the Magnificent. Always liked that model and I hope my NMM skills are good enough to do him justice. So far it has been fun painting him. When he's finished I already have more models lined up. Thanks to Made to order I finally will be able to create a unit of mounted daemonettes and I converted a dark elf sorcerer.
  17. Chaos dwarves did use magic, allthough then they would slowly turn to stone. And there were some hints to the chaos dwarves in the fireslayer release. That doesn't mean I think it is a dwarf or a fire mage. Could be either. I dont really like this piece of artwork.
  18. got a message on Instagram from GW, they wantend to feature my elves on their site. I think that's pretty cool?
  19. @Darth Alec thanks man:) I don't play so I didn't really think about it, but I guess they would be chaos warriors or chosen. The 5 sisters will form a unit of six with Sigvald. The Sigvald model carries a big sword so they look good together. The black armour fits in nicely with my Marauders and dark elves (more on those later). I imagine the sisters and the Marauders forming a warband of seekers, looking for Thalion in the age of sigmar.
  20. @Double MisfireThe legs for the mounted prince are from the silver helms kit. Here's a pic of my first painted sister. I like how she looks, but I don't think I will use the exact same scheme for every sister.
  21. @Double Misfire I had to Google tassets:p they're actually the wings I clipped from one of the Phoenix guard helmets.
  22. It's your lucky day @Hagen, I just took some shots with a proper camera instead of my phone. Although I'm still not completely happy with the pics, they're not as sharp as I'd like. The mounted prince is actualy inspired by your conversion for prince Aelrik. Great to see you posted some more work on you blog! I finished the honour guard, consisting of princes from six different elven realms. the complete unit Prince from Elyrion and princess from Avelorn (possibly a former maiden guard?) Princse from Caledor and Lothern (Eataine) Princes from Chrace and Cothique next up are sisters of silence as Slaaneshi warriors, accompanied by the Sigvald model.
  23. Just a small update. I finally found some hobby-time. I went back to the conversion for te caledorian prince and painted him, although he still needs his shield. I'll take some better pics when the unit is completely done.
  24. @JackDaw thanks man, I think it is a good sign if different people choose different models as their favorite. @Ademo I'm really happy with the shield design. as Cothique and Lothern are both known as seafarers, I wanted to give the Cothique prince different haraldry, based on a different sea-creature than the Lothern Sea dragon. The kraken is also mirrored in his helmet design. @Hagen YES! I'm so glad you joined this forum, I'm very happy to be the one that pointed it out to you. I think you'll like it here:) It would be really great if you continued your Aestyrion. They were a big inspiration for these princes. It would only be right if they in turn inspire you to return to that amazing project. My NMM and overall painting has improved I think. Allthough there is still so much room to grow. getting better brushes (Windsor&Newton series 7) and not holding the model itself while painting has helped a lot. This project has become a lot bigger than I intended. When I first started I thought I had enough stuff lying around to create a small Slaanesh warband. But I have bought lots of bits and models to expand the force and find myself thinking about the backstory all the time. The amount of models that need assembling and painting keeps growing... But I'm having a blast. sharing my work on this forum and Instagram is an important part of that fun and I'm very thankfull for all the critique and comments:)
  25. Time for some updates! I've been working hard on the honour guard. I finished three of them, princes from Lothern (Eataine), Cothique and Avelorn. allthough I think I need to go back to the Princess of Avelorn, her eyes don't look good and I'm debating with myself to change the colour of the sashes on her spear to green, similar to the sea dragon cloak of the Cothique prince. I've also finished the horse of the Elyrion prince. Somehow the white of the cloth was harder to paint then the NMM gold... I find myself facing paradox, on the one hand I'm really enjoying painting these and want to keep at it, but I also really want them to be finished... pics:)
