  1. What about conversions? Conversions can help with fluff while also helping with building a strong army if its something your interested in. My current army is skaven and I'm loving it there's a loose eshin/skryre theme without playing eshin only, I could quite easily add a stronger unit like stormvermin (not the best unit but works for an example) by converting them a bit into "eshin triads" which in fluff are their version of elite but there's no model for them, PLaguemonks painted in black robes and maybe slight changes wouldn't look out of place at all, grey seer? Eshin sorcerer. I'm no expert on most aos armies but surely there's room in alot to do fluffy conversions to blend in units that wouldn't fit in with lore etc
  2. How did they do vs other shooting/ranged armies? They are a cool unit and I had a alternative model in mind but I play vs alot of spell and shooting forces, just assumed they'd get sniped easily without investing into the bridge spell that was mentioned earlier
  3. I'm trying to convert up Veskit from mordheim into a more over the top AOS style and would like him to try live up to his old reputation. I know deathmasters aren't very good but to make one even slightly threatening which do people recommend between sword of judgement (d6 mw on 6 vs heros) and dimensional blade (-3 ap), ones more consistent but still only 1 damage, casual games obviously not tournament level.
  4. Don't think they are short but not aslong as the admech sniper people often use, been awhile since I played against necrons Was just curious really should look ace either way in my opinion 👍
  5. I was thinking of using deathmark rifles too be very interested to see how yours turn out, are you planning to extend them at all to make them longer?

Has my first game today 4 player free for all, My list Arch warlock, 2xstormfiends, 2xdoomwheel Kharadron Khemist, balloon hero, frigate, 10 thunderers, 2xarkanaut Slaanesh Keeper of secrets, mask, harp lady, 3xdaemonettes Seraphon starborn Slaan, sunblood, asroloth bearer, 2xsaurus, bastilodon Turn 1 I went first decided to pop shot slaanesh and sent in both doomwheels (one wiffed) ended up killing 1 almost 2 daemonette units and wounding harp lady. Seraphon moved towards kharadron not much really happened. Kharadron dealt alot of damage in return to seraphon. Slaanesh moved towards me (whelp) lost both wheels. Turn 2 Kharadron went first and wrecked the seraphon. Slaanesh went second (was really needing to go before them to shoot his keeper) summoned in some hellstriders? Chicken riders 😂 thankfully he wiffed big time with the keeper, I scurried away the warlock from the mask and the stormfiends all survived in combat leaving the keeper on 1 wound! Seraphon went next trying in vain to damage kharadron (he put everything into the frigate that just kept healing) and was left with just a bastilodon in the end while I killed the mask and keeper losing a single fiend. Skaven turn i moved the fiends forward towards slaanesh deployment to try kill his last hero so he couldn't use all his summon points, failed mmwp but still blasted him leaving 3 hellstriders, 5 daemonettes and no heros failed the charges otherwise would have wiped the hellstriders. Had to call the game there due to late start but it was really fun! I love this army even though I think the dorfs would have won since seraphon literally did nothing to them. The doomwheels did OK actually but I think the fulminator artefact could have been better used on something else like vigordust injector it was great turn 1 but then out of range maybe I played it wrong? All in all really happy how the army performed stormfiends are just brutal. Shame I forgot pictures was very chaotic

  9. Do gutter runners fall under "damage dealers"? Their warscroll doesn't look bad to my untrained eyes especially if getting reroll wounds from deciever/eshin bonus

  11. What's everyone's thoughts on msu stormvermin for battleline tax? Possibly viable? Not tournament level or anything but strong ish casual if that's a thing. Currently building pure skryre but the long term plan is to mix eshin and skryre so I need a universal battleline however, really not too keen on the idea of 60 clanrats and stormvermin are the same cost for 3x10

  13. Got my first game with skaven coming up in a couple weeks, excited not played skaven since mordheim at school! It's a 4 player free for all 1000 points each so should be amazingly chaotic. 😂 My list is, Arch-Warlock (160) - General - Command Trait: Deranged Inventor - Artefact: Vial of the Fulminator - Lore of Warpvolt Galvanism: More-more-more Warp Power! 3 x Stormfiends (260) - 1x Windlaunchers - 1x Ratling Cannons - 1x Doomflayer Gauntlets 3 x Stormfiends (260) - 1x Windlaunchers - 1x Ratling Cannons - 1x Doomflayer Gauntlets 1 x Doomwheel (160) 1 x Doomwheel (160) Total: 1000 / 1000 Will be playing against slaanesh and seraphon that I've never played against as well as my mates kharadron which after their reboot destroyed my gloomspite so looking scary, should be fun 😁

  15. Fair enough, I didn't know that I'm fairly new to gaming, dabbled in 40k back at school but fantasy always put me off sounded very confusing until age of sigmar. If I were to suggest a rule system for it I'd probably go the route of transports in 40k, so the riders weapons couldn't be used while mounted except for ranged attacks/abilities, then when the mount dies roll a dice on a 1 he's crushed under his beast, otherwise you get a foot hero. Gives a trade off of saving a hero for late game where assets may be short and protection from sniping (kinda lol we all know they can be nuked 😂) with the inherit risk of him dying too without much use I just like it for theatrics, I quite like the current system I love my sneaky little loonboss on foot as well as his big ol troggboss bodyguard who's totally not the real general no matter what lies have been said! 😂

Never going to happen but Iv always thought it would be cool if heros could dismount or their mounts could be killed separately like the witch King in LOTR, would be broken as hell but so awesome 😂 Imagine bringing down a black dragon then having the dreadlord striding out from the crash to keep going like a boss haha
  17. From what I've read in the cities group arlielle can't ambush because of the wholly within 6" of the board edge and her base is too big, unless house ruling to let her hang off the edge
  18. Thanks for the feedback, it's very helpful I'm quite inexperienced with aos especially with positioning so will definitely take your advice. The aura of glory to be honest was just incase really, figured I'd be using warscroll spells more but will change it for the cp spell Volley gun over rockets is mainly just because I prefer the model lol but also cheaper and can still fire if enemies are close

  21. Is there a consensus on pistoliers vs out riders? Initially I thought pistoliers for the battalion because rule of cool but heard outriders out class them
