  1. I live in hope of a Seraphon refresh, such an awesome concept for an army. Saurus, skinks, troxagor!
  2. For me there was an interesting comparison between Dark Harvest, which had very grounded/believable settings and was easy to pick up, and the latest Gotrek book, which was a little fantastical for me. Grubby villages and straightforward roles for supporting characters vs a high fantasy setting and characters that I struggled to visualise. It’s a bit of a trap AoS can fall into from time to time and can make it hard for BL novels in the setting to shine. For me the limited edition release schedule doesn’t work, I’m just not going to drop that much on a book and some of the excitement has then worn off by the time the hardback comes out. I think the AoS side suffers from lack of big name characters for novel series and porting Gotrek over was ok but slightly flawed. I’m not sure what to suggest there as for me the kore interesting perspectives e.g from a normal human/free guild are a bit hobbled by the faction having been more or less abandoned in the game. I like to be inspired to pick up some figures after my reading and get painting!
  3. Sylvaneth are a really interesting concept and it would be great to see them expanded. i always wanted an updated Empire knights kit so something similar for Cities would be great grotbag scuttlers would be awesome!
  4. Love the new character but I've got five each of the edrinriggers and sky wardens so it's a reluctant miss for me. I might see if I can get the character on eBay after the release as I bet a lot of people will pick it up for the tzeetch character, which I have to admit is fantastic even as someone who doesn't care for the faction. I'm slightly disappointed this means no bigger release for kharadron although I didn't necessarily expect one.
  5. I'm 50/50 on whether it is fake or not. I find the necromunda price implausible and if it's US pricing, why is the date format 'rest of the world' I.e. not month day year
  6. Really a cogfort and an updated knight kit would fit the human and potentially dwarf sides really well. The former dark elves have a pretty full up to date range imo. I would love a freeguild captain model posed like the one on the cover of he cities book, rather than the current plastic one who looks like he is poking something to try to free it from a wedged gutter.
  7. Personally I think that new stormcast model is very bland. It looks like the kind of thing you could kit bash from one of the unit boxes. It also feels like a bit of a kick in the teeth to bring out yet another stormcast character a week after the cities book came out with no character model release.
  8. The mordheim freelance knight model would be nice to see again. I was holding out hope for a new plastic General with the cities release but it was not to be and that guy would be a good stand in. Most of the made to order classics though I have managed to source over the years on eBay. The other set I would like to get is the empire villagers. Some very characterful models right there.
  9. Interesting project! A few years ago I made a steam tank for my Stirland empire based on the skaven doombell chassis but I've been thinking along the same lines as you about a more outlandish cogfort type contraption.
  10. If they do psychic awakening style books for AoS there could be a unit or character released here or there. I would have thought that the best hope would be a looncurse style box. Given that they seem to have gone down the faun style for future wood elf type releases a potential character seems more likely for the human faction. I am very tempted by the duardin box although I'm not a massive fan of the copter. I think I held off getting at the time due to large unit sizes. I've got two units of 40 halberdiers and one of 40 greatswords and painting fatigue was a thing.
  11. The Empire have always been very distinctive visually though. Obviously they are based on historical precedents but they are imo pretty unique in a fantasy setting and already incorporated steam punk aspects including things like mechanical messenger pigeons and cannon. Of all the factions, they feel like a more or less natural fit for AoS. Which is why the lack of a character kit is disappointing. Really all that they needed was an updated knight kit and a steam tank/cog fort, as well as potentially a few updated characters. The non human factions do feel very disparate to me in Cities, mostly because they were always very distinctive visually so putting then together doesn't work so well. I'm an old world dwarf fan but I probably would have left the duardin at kharadron and fireslayers and given kharadron a miner/close combat unit and let the old models pass on.
  12. I agree with Zilberfred. Without new models it is difficult for me to have too much confidence in this release and to invest. A new freeguild general would have been most welcome. I don't think there were many realistic expectations of things like a cogfort. It is very nice to see some of the kits get rescued though. The Dr Robotnic flier always seemed an odd one to drop, given how new it was.
