  1. I reckon 10 unit Tzaangs with paired weapons is the way to go. You can shield of fate them to give a ward roll (better one if you have the DD) and Hoarfrost them for that rend. They would still tie something up for a turn and do some damage, whilst you save a choppy unit behind for if you get the double, but the Tzaangs to tie something up if you don't. Their roll a dice for each Wizard around is cute, and would work well against Lumineth/the current GHB pushing for more Wizards.
  2. How's everyone feeling about the new GHB and what it means for our Lord and Saviour? Feel like it's a lot to take in, however am also very excited as to what it means. I feel like the Blizzard spell is a warm welcome for Tzeentch being able to give us more Spell Damage, albeit going to be a sacrifice of putting our Heros in the line of fire. I'm a bit overwhelmed at all the options we now have and it seems like there will be a lot of great lists. I feel like Host Arcanum is going to be a strong one for us, especially for castle builds. Loving some of the new endless spell abilities this season too! Finally some excuses to paint some up and get some use out of them, like gravetide, palisade and malevolent maelstrom! Anyone written any lists so far? I have a couple fo fun ones that i'll share a bit later
  3. Yeah IDK, will need an FAQ, but why give us these abilities if they don't synergize with the Army. I respect that these people are calling these out, it's good to think about, my concern is if they're saying these need to be rolled for, then this would have to be implemented AOS wide, for not only spells, but auto-dispells, unbinds etc, right? Thats my thoughts anyway.
  4. Not sure what you mean by the Enhancement for doubles on casting? Do you mean Arcane tome? If thats what you mean, Gave the Chaos Sorc Lord the Arcane tome to make him 2 caster because of Magister's ability to cast again if first cast in the round is successful, essentially making him a two cast wizzo as his scroll reads at the minute. The list kind of revolves around the idea of the Magister staying alive further back to bring in the LOCs, and then using them as Glass Canons really. Archaon as the Hammer, not much of an Anvil though.
  5. Army Faction: Disciples of Tzeentch - Subfaction: Guild of Summoners - Grand Strategy: Master of Destiny - Triumph: Indomitable LEADERS Archaon (860) Chaos Sorcerer Lord (135) - Artefacts of Power: Arcane Tome - Spells: Levitate Kairos Fateweaver (435) Magister (120) - General - Command Traits: Nexus of Fate - Spells: Shield of Fate BATTLELINE Kairic Acolytes (120) - Kairic Adept - Cursed Blade and Arcanite Shield - Scroll of the Dark Arts - Vulcharc - 3 x Cursed Glaive and Arcanite Shield Kairic Acolytes (120) - Kairic Adept - Cursed Blade and Arcanite Shield - Scroll of the Dark Arts - Vulcharc - 3 x Cursed Glaive and Arcanite Shield Kairic Acolytes (120) - Kairic Adept - Cursed Blade and Arcanite Shield - Scroll of the Dark Arts - Vulcharc - 3 x Cursed Glaive and Arcanite Shield ENDLESS SPELLS & INVOCATIONS 1 x Chronomantic Cogs (40) 1 x Tome of Eyes (40) TOTAL POINTS: 1990/2000
  6. Yeah need the additional spell enhancement to give them levitate.
  7. @Duke of Mousillon, always appreciate your input mate! Totally agree here, and thanks for the reminder that this is how these things work! I guess I want tzeentch to really feel like it is that magical force to be reckoned with, but still fickle at the same time! Maybe 4e tome will bring us some better things
  8. Just a personal opinion really, and I acknowledge this isn't contributing in a positive manner, but I feel 3e tome is going to be a bit lackluster and more of a "you're not amazing, you're not sh**" kinda tome. I'm also just a bit, underwhelmed with not only the state of our tome but some of the other ones that have seen releases as well. I also feel as if our tome and some of the others have just been a bit lazy. Agree that the Arcanite keyword from GS will most likely be added in, but I think there's bigger issues here that GW need to acknowledge and that this one wasn't very well thought out. Maybe they're trying to stabilize things across the board, not sure. I'd be interested to hear what other people feel about the current rules and if they feel that there's a bit too much going on/a bit of rules bloat? I'm more a casual gamer but trying to get more competitive and it just feels overwhelming sometimes the sheer amount of stuff to remember.
  9. Seriously, Arcanite only? I don't have the new book, i've only seen the references online and on youtube, each one of which hasn't mentioned this. If that's the case, I'm thoroughly disappointed. The list was a cheese/joke list anyway, there's other ways to get the LOCs, but man, yeah if you're right that seriously sucks.
  10. Going to chuck this idea into a Guild list instead and run it on TTS. Could be fun for a friendly game, probably took much book keeping for a tournie. Sidenote: if you have Kairos and Changeling, plus 10 Kairics, this nicely fits into x2 Battle regiment battalions, plus 205 pts for endless spells.
  11. Not mad about it if it happens. Whilst his dice change ability is strong, I really think that (depending on how it actually works) getting a fate dice every turn is really going to help a lot more! These rumours are hyping me up a bit. Thanks for sharing @Jaskier! Hoping they don't lose their auto-dispell, that would be pretty average I think because it's a great way to rack up Fate points.
  12. Have a game tonight and tomorrow night, most likely last two for the new book, thought I'd share my list: Allegiance: Tzeentch- Change Coven: Hosts Arcanum- Grand Strategy: Take What's Theirs- Triumphs:LeadersCurseling, Eye of Tzeentch (175)**- Lore of Fate: Arcane SuggestionKairos Fateweaver (435)**- Lore of Change: Bolt of TzeentchLord of Change (400)**- General- Command Trait: Spell Hunters- Artefact: The Fanged Circlet- Lore of Change: Tzeentch's FirestormTzaangor Shaman (135)**- Lore of Fate: Shield of FateGaunt Summoner on Disc of Tzeentch (230)**- Lore of Fate: Arcane SuggestionBattleline10 x Pink Horrors of Tzeentch (250)*10 x Kairic Acolytes (120)*10 x Kairic Acolytes (120)**Endless Spells & InvocationsChronomantic Cogs (40)Umbral Spellportal (70)Core Battalions*Expert Conquerors **WarlordTotal: 1975 / 2000Reinforced Units: 0 / 4Allies: 0 / 400Wounds: 74Drops: 8 Mostly just taking what I have painted at this stage, but I think if anything I'd swap out the Shaman for Ogroid, but his movement and extra spell cast come in handy for summoning purposes. I also want to try the new warscroll for the Curseling, as I haven't tried it yet. Could be fun, could be boring, see how we go hey!
  13. I'd love to see Kairics come down, even by 10 or 15 points, but I'm thinking it might depend on any sub-faction abilities that are tweaked, maybe like Pyrofane cult. Maybe we see some Internet leaks in the coming week or so!
  14. The Tzeentch Wizard +1 to cast ability from the LOC is very welcomed and hopefully there's some hosts that stack on this. Am I right in thinking that this will also apply to STD Wizards as well as they gain the Tzeentch keyword when added? My only real hope is that the LOC doesn't go up in cost because of this, which I feel they will, but I feel that if they stayed at 400 I wouldn't be overpaying for them. New Gaunt ability to have two units in reserve is alright, has some sound utility if applied to both Gaunt variants, spesh if Hosts Arcanum stays the same with pregame move for Gaunt on Disc but I kind of hate knowing that this will most likely replace their Arcane Tome ability. Not sure about the Endless Spell ability atm. I guess we will find out more when the book drops in full. At face value, seems average unless the scrolls get re-written as @Duke of Mousillon touched on. Either way, much like the last book, it's going to have it's ups and downs, smiles and frowns. Least we get it soon
  15. Alright, LRL preview today on the community website. Tzeentch tomorrow or the day after? Sunday pre-order, just in time for summer release LOL. Maybe we're back in Business? 😎
  16. Blink and it'll be gone! You're right, they're running out of time. Woke up this morning to see a preview of the Ogor's BT and felt pretty ripped off. I'm starting to feel skeptical about it now. The Curseling didn't get any sort of review/unveiling like the LRL hero did in the lead up to the Battlebox and now we have essentially had GW go dark on both releases. Worried it's being pushed out because there were issues with it prior to release. All we have is the snippet of the cover, which is the Tzaangor Shaman. So I guess we might see Tzaagors get a focus? But that is 100000% speculation.
  17. Well.... Pretty ready for the announcement of the new Battletome to hurry up and be here lol. In the mean time, has anyone played some games with the new Warscrolls? Any thoughts at all? I'm guessing as we don't have new rules across the board we are in that limbo bit where it's not effective...
  18. No idea sorry mate, I'd say close to 3/4 the size of the base? Judging by the eye?
  19. Totally this hey. Loved them being another caster and the fluff about it, although sucked when I didn't get their spell off LOL. Agreed with the comment that it will mean less dice rolling - @Koala - and it just happens now, I haven't seen point so hopefully they went down? Still salty that all our battleline are losing theirs spells because @Ganigumo has a point about losing Fate points with both battleline now being stripped of spells. I guess we generate them off other spells as well but man, I don't want to let spells through in the way the game seems to be going with a magic focus. I agree the secret agendas need a bit more streamlining. I love some of the other abilities but the one used mostly for Horrors where each models counts as two might be a bit overshadowed with the new Battalion where each models counts as 3? Idk. See how we go. I def love the Secret Agendas, they were fun! Just need a bit of streamlining. Won't know much more until the Tome is out, shouldn't be long now I'd say. I've already seen some leaks for Lumineth, so who knows maybe we will have it before GW even announce it LOL. I think I also want to see a re-write of the Endless Spells. Some were okay, but I never felt the real urge to take them. Maybe they get a decent boost
  20. Mixed feelings about some of the changes we have seen already to the scrolls. @Grimrock agreed that the change to Kairics no longer being Wizards is weird and they have never been a problem. Happy they get the +1 rend now with the scroll, but I'm really starting to question some of the choices they are making with Tzeentch mortals overall, in terms of their viability. Don't get me wrong I think they will still have a great spot in lists, just hoping they don;t lean far towards one side than the other. I guess we need the full Tome before making any final judgements. Was keen on the box, but now I think if anything I'll just get the Curseling separately and wait for the new tome. Excited to see what they bring in/change, always makes for different lists etc, just hope there's balance across both Mortals and Daemons. I think early to mid Sept for the new tome as well?
  21. I think I've missed it somewhere along the posts but how are you adding the extra spell to Kairos to make him 4 cast? Edit: Chronomantic Cogs?
  22. Yeah you can take him. Just need to essentially "Ally" him in, but then it doesn't count as your ally points, if that makes sense?
  23. @Jabbuk, @Beer & Pretzels Gamer thought I would move the conversation back to this forum, as others can see it and also weigh in on the topic. @Beer & Pretzels Gamer im not sure what points you were playing at for your game, but I think some of the best screens you can get in the game are Blue Horrors. Best part about them is that they just split and hold the enemy in place for longer than usual. I think that having maybe 1 or 2 of these, or even up to 3 Brim stone units. If you're running something like a big pack of 30 Kairics, I'd highly recommend at least running a unit of Blues about an inch or maybe even 3 (depending on what your opponent has on the table) to be able to absorb whatever is infront. Honestly a big unit of 20 is also pretty amazing for this, or a unit of Pinks to really protect them. The same can also be said for Tzaangors that are about an inch behind a unit of Brims. Have the Brims go infront, absorb anything that charges them, with the Tzaangors behind and then let the Tzaangors pile in after the enemy unit has attacked to be able to get the advantage. There's also a lot to be said for having you Blues about 2 inches away from something like Kairics, spread out in a nice line, enemy unit charges, then they murder your Blues but when you place your brimgs down, the Brim has to be within 3" of where the original Blue was, so leaves you open to then position them a bit better or may a two model deep wall between you and the important unit you're screening. I hope this helps. Edit: added another line.
  24. I can write something up for you no problem
  25. Hey all, I have just posted my first Blog Entry (thanks to @Gwendar for the suggestion) and it focuses on how to start collecting and build a Tzeentch Army. You can find it here: This was mostly in response to a few people i've noticed asking the best way to start a Tzeentch army. So give it a read if you like. Also for happy for vets to wigh in on the post and highlight anything that may have been missed! @GrimDork this might help you if you're interested in giving it a read!
