This! I’m pretty much in exactly this boat! I much prefer to have a fully painted army before playing and have wasted time putting terrible armies on the table as a result. I don’t mean non-top tier lists by this, just randomly cobbled together lists to make up points with no internal synergies. So I’ll probably grab one or two boxes based off the previews and the Battletome before going all in on everything else. I love the Katakros model and will definitely be getting that but it’ll probably take a couple of months for me to build/paint so will start with the others.

Yes and No. Endless spells can be as per @michu ‘s answer. However, the example you have given is not possible. The difference being that the ‘endless spells’ available to the Fyreslayers are not technically endless spells but in fact Magmic Invications. To quote the Battletome - “Fyreslayers priests in a Fyreslayers army can summon magmic invocations”. The same would be the case with the Judgements of Khorne. Hope this helps

Started at about 7/8 with a bunch of 40k bits and pieces, mainly dark eldar I think and a few space marines. I Then got really into the lord of the rings stuff, but this was mainly just modelling and painting, which then moved onto fantasy after the films had finished. Like so many others I fell out of the hobby at about age 14. I was then helping clear out some of my mums loft and found a case of old tomb kings a couple of years ago, remembered enjoying painting and thought why not get a couple of new models to paint up as a form of relaxation. Suffice to say, I am now very much enjoying being back in the hobby! And much more involved than I ever was, painting most days and getting a game in most weeks.

20 Tzaangors and a Magister which will finish off my 2K Tzeentch army! Stretch goal is to work out a paint scheme for Bonereapers on a morghast.

Given that the community article only stated that the preorder would be open in October, it’s looking likely to be preorder on the 26th for release on the 2nd November. For a first wave at least. Back on topic, I’ve been playing around with colour schemes on half assembled morghasts. I’m thinking of this green for the armour and a dirty, brownish red for the cloth, with a mixture of bone colours. Not sure what colour is going to be best for the skulls and smoke effects though. Any recommendations?

I’ve managed to finish the acolytes! Note to self, don’t try and batch paint 40 models at once again... Half of the unit of 6 skyfires are finished along with the other 3 discs. Just the remaining 3 tzaangors to finish off. Pics of the 3 completed as well.

That’s the exact combination I used on this guy. I’m not so keen on the dry brush finish for flesh and would go for layers plus highlights if I was to start again, but then again, my dry brushing skills are non-existent! Good luck 😀

Away on holiday for half the month so just Kairic acolytes and skyfires leftover from last month. Hopefully they’ll finally be finished! Not AoS but also build and magnetise a Balrog for a friend

Just a little bit optimistic for my first pledge. Got the acolytes to a point of just needing highlights and basing, but I’m pleased with how they’re going!

Add in wrathmongers for even more skarbrand shenanigans, then you arguably don’t need to take reapers of vengeance. I’ve found that mortals work quite well with him as you want the screens so that he doesn’t get charged first. There’s nothing worse than having him deleted before he gets to fight

Pick up warcry tomorrow 😃 Looks like there’s quite a bit of interest in it around me. My effort at finishing off 40 Acolytes before starting on the warcry models is not going to plan! More to add to the pile of half finished before something new and shiny takes my eye...
