  1. A soulsborne game sounds awesome, but building out Soulbound into a Planescape-like party based crpg is my dream (but with free choice of making character).
  2. I painted a few things, some Wargames Atlantic. I put the Harvesters in the box at my friend's house but I still have the skeletons. Nothing special, and freehand with a headache isn't great.
  3. Not directly AoS, but there has been a large cleanup in Forgeworld 40k models. In true GW fashion, the greater demons went last chance to buy when they were out of stock. Khorne herald now also gone, so AoS is totally empty. I don't see FW making new stuff for AoS, and suspect 40k will be limited to titans, vehicles and 30k leftovers.
  4. Space marines making GW lots of money leads to GW making space marines (of any place on the colour wheel). Which leads to those fans getting more while others with neglected factions slowly stop being interested in the hobby. I have 5 from a starter set because I wanted some space skeletons, and can't imagine wanting more. Their infantry is uninspired, and their vehicles seem like they can be folded from the box they came in.
  5. Also Chosen Axes have most of the diversity of Fyreslayers and could be their Start Collecting-ish.
  6. Games Workshop is big because Games Workshop is big. On one hand it's easier to find a game of Kill Team/40K/AoS/Warcry than Space weirdos/Stargrace/Conquest/OPR. On the other hand because they have all the things for the hobby, which makes it less daunting to start. They do have very talented designers and make good lore (on average), so that really helps.
  7. I don't think the spell looks very good, but there are options I can print. The party is still very far from ready for it anyway.
  8. I made some halflings from Bretonnisn Bowmen and a few other models to include in my Guard.
  9. Yeah, I had been eyeing the Mournghul for a big bad monster in my rpg game, but I'll have to find something else.
  10. If they had properly communicated the FW stuff was falling out of rules, it would have been a lot better. One edition warning at least. Now it's just bait and switch, but that's how GW does.
  11. This was not a painting month, so I haven't really finished much.
  12. That is all compensated by his friends being really cute! Thanks, the vagueries of post-season Underworlds continue to elude me. They do look good, don't they?
  13. I could swear I saw the Thorns of the Briar Queen as a separate box in the Nighthaunt section (webstore only). Sure, without cards, but I only care about the models. Can't see it now so it could be misremembering, or be rotated. That price is higher than the entire box of the first few seasons.
  14. I think it's a few months after the next box is out. I'll be grabbing one as well. Perhaps two, one to gift to a painting friend.
  15. I absolutely agree the metal slayer heads were comically large, but I think GW can do better than copy and paste emotionless faces under the facial hair. You can see expression under a beard and mustache. Even a few faces that are just angry, like the Warden King, would make them less boring.
  16. Yeah, Bugmansson, Drekki and the Codewright have better heads than others. It seems most current dwarves (Fyreslayers, Hammerers, Longbeards) were sculpted with the facial hair already on. GW can sculpt emotions, but it's a lot easier if you do that first, and then add facial hair.
  17. Destruction dwarves! Dwarf ancestor spirits! Thomas the pain engine! Valkyries of Valaya! Female Kharadron and Fyreslayers! Models that show they can sculpt more than a neutral face full of hair!
  18. Sorry, I did not know. That's weird then, they seem rather religious.
  19. There is a chance I'm going to make that into some sort of energy spear weapon with a techy space lizard. Here's hoping for a good Vanguard box.
  20. I forgot to add my Bastilladon! It's not based, because I don't have a plan for basing yet.
  21. I like the theory of Fyreslayers, but if all you have is naked dwarf, I want to see diversity in the stuff that's there. I almost purchased the SC often, but I already thought they were running out of variety in that box alone. Looking at it now, I should have looked at the shields and picks, and it would just be enough for me. But then there's another few heroes that look exactly the same, (and two that are different), and the other more expensive infantry that looks largely the same (though I like the magma pikes). For units called berserkers, they have the 1000 yard stare of an office worker on thursday morning, without even the memory of emotion. I want to like them, but I just don't think they are good designs.
  22. Irondrakes and all ironbreakers except one have face covering helmets, so not the best example. Longbeards and hammerers are admittedly not much better. It isn't impossible to have at least some variety and expression in dwarf faces (A few different shaped noses, some smiles, an open mouth, raised eyebrows, differences in hoe deep the eyes are, some faces are notably fatter, some have deep froens etc). Metal dwarf slayers were also more expressive (the sculpts don't hold up, but they have expression), so GW can do it as well.
  23. One of the biggest issue is their faces. They have only one expression. And it's a rather neutral face. Look at just the face, and tell me the difference.
