  1. I'm an IJ player at heart. They are my first army. When I first saw the Kruleboyz I wasn't sure and was waiting for the battletome. After seeing the content, I think they're amazing. The fact that we can have such drastically different armies within the same battletome is a privilege to me. Kruleboyz are that army full of tricks and shenanigans that good players will be able to exploit and bend the game. The whole army has mortal wounds on 6s (something destruction has never had access to in the past, tbh..) and the tech to buff it up even more is so cool.. I dunno, overall I think they will be my next army and I'll do Big Waaagh build with my IJ as well. It's a tome that's really deep and I feel like people who are not liking the army, are expecting a classic hard hitting melee army like the Ironjawz and that's just not what they are. You have to change your mindset to welcome their differences and embrace them. Count me in for that learning curve. People who want classic durable/hard hitting battlelines, etc. I suggest you go BW and you'll be pleased. Can't wait to get the battletome.
  2. Hey everyone, I'd like to get your opinions on how to finish my 2k list of Guild of Summoners (mainly arcanites). I know it's not a popular build but I'd still like to try to make it work and be good. I like the theme of it and the models. Right now I'm at 1710 points and I have basically 3 options to finish my list and I'm not sure how. I'd like to know what you guys think as it will also guide my final purchase. The list: Option #1: Finish my list with a Changeling and Endless Spells. This list is inspired by Ash McEwan's list from Cancon 2020 I believe. So the Changeling's role would be to provide 2 casts, bringing my total potential cast at 12 spells in turn 1, but also give the opportunity to steal an objective early game if my opponent deploys badly, or summon the Lord of Change on the other side of the board, as Ash was suggesting. Plus the model is really cool. Option #2: Finish the list with the Curseling and Endless Spells. Curseling is a 2 cast wizard as well, and also fairly strong anti-magic. An interesting choice. Option #3: Finish the list with The Blue Scribes and 10xAcolytes. Blue Scribes would certainly provide additional reliability to all of my cast, making me re-roll them. So this is really strong. Plus I add another unit of Acolytes to make up for the single cast of the Blue Scribes, still keeping my total cast potential at 12 spells. I don't have endless spells to help with mortal wounds, however, and I don't have the other side of the board LoC summon potential. So which option would you guys pick and why? I'd like to hear your opinions on that. Thanks!
  3. How do you guys feel about our Endless Spells? I have 120pts left to fill up on my Guild of Summoners list and I'm not sure what to fill it up with. Right now I have the Umbral Spell Portal and Cogs for a total of 115pts, but I ordered the Tzeentch Endless Spells and I'm just not sure how to fit those in. What do you guys think? For example, I could take the Daemonic Simulacrum for 90pts and leave 30pts on the table but I'm not sure if it's worth it.
  4. Quick question guys. So with the new FAQ rules that non ward saves now stack with ward saves... Does this mean that Ardboys in Big Waaagh! are now going back to getting two 6++ after saves? (One for the shield + one for the BW ability)
  5. Finally!! God I've been holding onto those last 2 boxes of Brutes, waiting to see if they would get a change like this. I was wondering if I would sell them. GUESS NOT!
  6. That's interesting. Fair point. At the same time, I can't help but feel like too much terrain obstructs the board for bigger bases. In my circle, we have some guys that like to do big terrain setups, more "thematic". In more than one occasion, I was playing IJ, and felt like I couldn't move my cav or my MK where I wanted and it kinda sucked the fun out of the game for me. While on his side, he didn't have big bases so it put him in an advantageous position. GW put a minimum # of 8 terrain pieces and I think it's alright for me. The people you play with can always put more if they want. It's a minimum. I guess it's up to the TO, huh.
  7. I believe his comment was posted 3 days ago, before the FAQ release
  8. I only see a mention about Arcane Bolt in the new FAQ. Where does it talk about Mystic Shield?
  9. I feel like this change is really good for everyone. I mean they lose their stupid value but it also raises the interest in including Acolytes if you want wizards in your battleline, instead of pinks being strictly better. It's good for internal balance in my mind.
  10. Really cool changes! So as for the Musician and the Icon Bearer, it says 1 in every 10. Does this mean that the unit of 5 summoned but the Gaunt Summoner can't have either in their unit?
  11. What about the unit summoned by the Gaunt Summoner? (5pinks) Could you use a return mechanism to bring back some since the minimal unit size is usually 10?
  12. True, true. Against the Great Unclean One, I guess they fared pretty good. I did something like 8 wounds. It was the 2nd time I played the MawKrusha (the first time was 3 years ago) and it was such a beast. The damage ramp up with Violent Fury and Mean'Un was just absurd. He did all the work in the army and cleaned everything. Though, when the 2nd Great Unclean One charged him, he took so many mortals that he was really crippled. I had a 2up save w/Mystic + Best Day Ever. Still the Mortals really got him, even with the 6up shrug. I know mortal wounds have always been the most reliable damage but I think this edition specifically, it's our salvation. That's why I'm hoping for mw on 6s in BW
  13. I have a feeling that what the Kruelboyz will bring to BW might be mortal wounds on 6s. I mean every Orruk side brings their signature features and poison-tipped weapons seems to be one of theirs. Mortals on 6s would be so good. Then those Arrowboys could really do some work. Crossing fingers.
  14. Had a game last night at 1500pts against a Nurgle list with 2 Great Unclean One. This was my list: I ended up winning the game and I gotta say I loved how the MK performed and also the Arrowboys block and the Wurgogg with Wardok synergy. Wurgogg is +2 to cast all the time; Arrowboys provide a ton of bodies and chip damage; and I got 10 Waagh Points turn 1 and hit 20 turn two. I'm wondering why we don't see lists with a block of Arrowboys around here. I mean, with the current meta full of monsters, 60 attacks at 4+ 4+ -1 Rend (with Brutal Beast Spirit buff) is nothing to scoff at. It's a ton of medium attacks and a good portion makes it through on those monsters. Anyways, thought I'd share my experience. I really like the feel of the list. Brutish Cunning on the MK was invaluable to deliver the pain. I think in BW it's a must have. I do think that the Warchanter is really the linchpin of all of our list because he makes us able to actually kill stuff, otherwise the damage isn't really there. I'd like to take this list to 2000 points adding 3 GGs for a unit of 6, a unit of Brutes, a Warchanter and Emerald Lifeswarm for 1990.
  15. Really cool tournament summary, thanks for sharing.
  16. Is this the rule you're referring to? "A unit is eligible to fight if it is within 3" of an enemy unit and it has not fought in that phase, or if it made a charge move in the same turn and it has not fought in that phase." So if I understand correctly, you can charge in the hero phase, retreat to be out of combat in the move phase, but can then pile in later, even if you're outside of 3", because you made a charge move in the same turn. That's some next level sh--. In which scenario would you want to do that exactly? Could you elaborate a bit on your strategy?
  17. Wow, I gotta reread the rules carefully because I don't compute how this works, haha. I thought you could only pile in and fight if you were within 3in.
  18. But how can you pile in if you're 3.1in away?
  19. Good day everyone, I'm having a 1500pts match next week and I want to run BW. I can't make up my mind between two lists and I was wondering what you guys thought about it. Basically, the dilemma for me is: Do I take 20 Arrowboys to synergize with my Wardokk and Wurgogg or I just fill up with IJ units instead? Would appreciate if some guys who have run those in the past could share their thoughts. Here are the lists: Arrowboys version Ironjawz version Thanks!
  20. So, I have a strange question about Chainghasts. They're a unit of two models.. how does it work for movement? Do they need to be in coherency of each other at all times? Can I simply move one one way and the other the other way?
  21. Wait, so this brings up a question I had when I received my GHB 2021. The Core Rules has 750, 1000, 1500 and 2000 (even 3000) but the GHB 2021 only shows 1000 and 2000. Could someone clarify what happened in-between? As for the number of battlelines, I use Warscroll Builder and everything seems legit.
  22. Hi again Ossiarch generals, Ive been trying to figure out the models I should buy for my 1.5k list of Mortis Preatorians. Here's my sample list: Allegiance: Ossiarch Bonereapers- Legion: Mortis Praetorians- Grand Strategy:- Triumphs:Arch-Kavalos Zandtos (205)Katakros, Mortarch of the Necropolis (470)- GeneralMortisan Soulmason (140)20 x Mortek Guard (280)- Nadirite Blade and Shield- Reinforced x 15 x Kavalos Deathriders (190)- Nadirite Blade and ShieldMortek Crawler (215)Total: 1500 / 1500Reinforced Units: 1 / 3Allies: 0 / 300Wounds: 80Drops: 6 Do you have any advice on if I should take a Mortek Crawler or a Gothizzar Harvester? I had the Gothizzar in first for the healing and monster keyword but with Katakros in, maybe it's overkill for healing? What do you guys think?
  23. So, I've read the FAQ and it says that Katakros counts as A general and not THE general of your army. It says "even if it's not the one chosen to be a general." Does this mean that we get 2 generals in the army or it means that it overrules your general choice and become the only general?
  24. So when you run Mortis Preatorians with Katakros, do you make him your General by default? I'm guessing yes because he has a special CA that can only be used if he's the general, but at the same time I'm not sure because we're losing on the artefact and command trait? Anyways, just curious if he should always be the general in MP.
  25. Greetings Boneshapers, I'm building a small OBR project, a 1.5k list and I was thinking of including Katakros because I absolutely love the model. Should he be played at that level or only be reserved for 2k games? I would run morteks, a harvester, deathriders, a soulmason and the man himself. I mean is it too much points for 1.5k to put on a single model? I hope that makes sense
