  1. I'm very hopeful for what's to come, don't get me wrong, I have a buttload of NH painted and ready to play with... Rant on: But I find it crazy how different some books/rules feel from each other. It's clear that, because the bolts of the crossbow dudes go through walls and ignore LoS, they were extra careful with rules putting it at 4+, 4+ -1rend, 1 dam.. a pretty weak profile in 3.0. meanwhile, you have the Idoneth book where every single warscroll are just incredibly strong, and where extra carefulness was clearly not used here. I'm having a hard time understand how they write books and rules. It is so inconsistent. Yes their scroll is only partly shown and could reveal some amazing potential, but when I saw the preview with 12' range, 4+4+, -1rend, 1 damage, I literally lolled. Rant off.
  2. So at 27.3 of the Core Rules Book, it says that enhancements cannot be given to Unique characters (27.3.1). Mount Trait is listed in the enhancement and is thus considered, an enhancement. As of today Gordrakk has the Unique keyword on his warscroll in the app. I would tend to think he cannot have any sort of enhancement on him.
  3. I thought named characters weren't allowed to take mount traits. Has that changed in the rules?
  4. What is you guys thoughts about drops in BW? Is it like, go 1drop or 2 drops and if you can't you should go for 2 warlords, or something? Does it matter if we go 4 drops anymore? I figure also that our deployment is fairly castle like and in the back, so I wonder if going first or 2nd matters that much in BW?
  5. I could fit the BS wizard but I feel that he's kinda lonely on his own and it makes the list too top heavy. I felt like he had no synergy with anyone else. I also felt that the Killbow filled out the same purpose of killing big Monsters. Speaking of which, I wonder why Kruleboyz Wizards are not deemed worthy of generating Waaagh points. That's kind of... strange, isn't it?
  6. Playing around with my list a little bit, I kept thinking that I wanted speed and that it was missing from my list. I couldn't fit GGs with Brutes. I feel like I found my list, although unfortunately I'm not playing Brutes anymore. Allegiance: Big Waaagh!- Grand Strategy:- Triumphs:Gobsprakk, The Mouth of Mork (280)Megaboss on Maw-Krusha (480)- Boss Gore-hacka and ChoppaSwampcalla Shaman with Pot-grot (105)Orruk Warchanter (115)- Artefact: Arcane Tome (Universal Artefact)5 x Orruk Ardboys (85)5 x Orruk Ardboys (85)5 x Orruk Ardboys (85)6 x Man-skewer Boltboyz (240)- Reinforced x 16 x Orruk Gore-gruntas (340)- Pig-iron Choppas- Reinforced x 1Beast-skewer Killbow (130)Chronomantic Cogs (45)Total: 1990 / 2000Reinforced Units: 2 / 4Allies: 0 / 400Wounds: 121Drops: 10 I feel like the list has several fast threats (GGs, MK), potentially cool spells, some nice shooting and some long range threat with the Killbow for potential swingy Monster hunting. Some screening with ardboys, I got the Warchanter with Teleport spell and arcane tome, and it all fits into 1945 points.i finished it up with Cogs because it made the more sense to me. It feel better than my Brutes version. What do you guys think? Also, is it better to play GGs in 6s or in 3s now? I haven't played GGs in 3s yet but in 6s they always deleted what they touched.
  7. To me it's just an excuse to play him. Like Malakree said earlier, it fits him well because of the bonus to cast. In Kruleboyz he becomes the center of attention and isn't durable enough. In BW, I can put some Ironjawz with him and it evens out the threats. The opponent needs to make some choices. I dunno, really, that's my justification but I could be wrong. I just love the model and I'm trying to find a way to play it. Do you have another opinion?
  8. Allegiance: Big Waaagh!- Grand Strategy:- Triumphs:Gobsprakk, The Mouth of Mork (280)Megaboss on Maw-Krusha (480)- Boss Gore-hacka and ChoppaOrruk Warchanter (115)Wurrgog Prophet (150)Swampcalla Shaman with Pot-grot (105)10 x Orruk Brutes (320)- Pair of Brute Choppas- Reinforced x 15 x Orruk Ardboys (85)5 x Orruk Ardboys (85)6 x Man-skewer Boltboyz (240)- Reinforced x 1Beast-skewer Killbow (130)Total: 1990 / 2000Reinforced Units: 2 / 4Allies: 0 / 400Wounds: 118Drops: 10 So I got this BW list here that kind of encompasses a lot of the stuff I wanna play and I feel like it's pretty strong. There's speed and power with MK, there's power with Brutes, mortal wounds with Boltboyz, Wurgogg and Killbow, and "some" screens with 2x5 ardboys, and a real useful spell lore. I also got 2 monsters. I like it but I feel a little light on the bodies. What do you guys think?
  9. I believe you cannot fit both Kragnos and an MK in Battle Reg because it only allows a single 10+ wounds general, and the rest must be sub commanders, 10 wounds and less.
  10. Been thinking about going Big Waaagh! For a while and I love you guys' lists in here. Thanks for sharing. Is it me or Arrowboys are absolutely excellent screens that can plink off wounds on a Monster? I mean they are 145pts for 10, that's about 70pts per wounds, which makes them cheaper than Hobgrot Slittaz. I'll be honest though and say that I just want to find a purpose for them because I love their model and I painted them pretty good. I used to use them in BW in 2.0 along with an IJ force but BS has been nerfed so much, that it's hard to justify them. I have a block of 20 and I feel like they could be an excellent screen. What do you guys think?
  11. Yeah, to be fair, I mean I understand that everyone likes to have their armies up-to-date and competitive, but OBR has had some real nice treatments compared to at least half a dozen other factions that just feel dated as all hell, some of which were also kinda dated in 2.0 last year. Khorne, Skaven, NH (now getting updated), FEC, Sylvaneth, etc. Just an opinion, however. I could be wrong.
  12. That is REALLY insightful. Thank you so much. You've made an excellent point for both, lol. I still can't choose, haha.
  13. Thank you, that's very valuable. I see Mir Kainan coming back very often on these boards. When I build a list with Katakros and Soulmason, I seem to run out of points to put both Liege and Mir Kainan. I don't have an extended knowledge of the faction so I'm not sure if I lose to much by not including a Liege Kavalos, if I go the Mir Kainan way? Would anyone care to share their view on the value of either?
  14. Hello fellow Bone Constructs, I recently purchased the Battlebox Bone-Tithe Echelon to get started in OBR. I also bought a Liege Kavalos and 1box of Deathriders. I'm a big fan of Katakros and would really like to build a list towards Mortis Praetorian. Do you guys have any advice on where to go from there with the units I bought? Probably another box of Mortek and Katakros? Any advice is appreciated, thank you
  15. That's super useful, thank you. It does feel like I cannot fully grasp what you're talking about though, I guess it's the experience. I haven't had the chance to play them yet because of pandemic and painting my army takes forever, so experience will come as I play them. Although, I did play them once in a 1000pts game and I hated them, lol. All my units died to a stiff breeze, I felt like I couldn't achieve much. Coming from a Destruction playstyle, I was like.. what is the point of this army? Isn't it supposed to be strong? (I was playing a Pyrofane Cult build with lots of Acolytes, my tzaangors died surprisingly fast, I got charged and everything died. I guess I learned the hard way that Tzeentch cannot be charged. So I started buying horrors to screen stuff.) Can't wait to test my 2k list. This time I'm doing Host Arcanum and we'll see how it goes.
  16. Thank you for the reply. I'm kinda new to the faction so what is Tzeentch current playstyle? I thought it was staying away and doing MW from afar, mostly, screening the board with summons, which, in my mind, Skyfires contribute to. I dunno, in my mind they do at least. Would you care to elaborate a bit?
  17. Would you care explaining why? I'm putting some in my list and was thinking they're a good threat from far away with potential mw.
  18. I totally agree about the 2 birds being classic. It's just I spent a crapload amount of time painting my first LoC. Painting another one turns me off right now. Thanks for the input on horrors. Here are pics of my LoC.
  19. Thank you so much for the feedback guys, I really appreciate it. I refined my list a little bit: Allegiance: Tzeentch- Change Coven: Hosts Arcanum- Grand Strategy: None Chosen- Triumphs:Kairos Fateweaver (435)Gaunt Summoner of Tzeentch (255)Ogroid Thaumaturge (165)The Blue Scribes (135)Changecaster, Herald of Tzeentch (135)10 x Kairic Acolytes (115)10 x Kairic Acolytes (115)10 x Kairic Acolytes (115)10 x Tzaangors (175)3 x Tzaangor Skyfires (210)Umbral Spellportal (70)Soulsnare Shackles (65)Total: 1990 / 2000Reinforced Units: 0 / 4Allies: 0 / 400Wounds: 99Drops: 10 I decided to go for Changecaster instead of Tzaangor Shaman. I think the Changecaster will contribute more to the Fate Points and I don't have enough Tzaangors in my list to justify the Shaman. I could be wrong tho, please correct me if I am. My strategy is basically going to be to do MW from afar, have the kairics as screens (and pinks from Gaunt) and keep the Tzaangors tight and use them as countercharge if ever. I'd like to use their MW ability for each wizard around within 9". Then I try to summon pinks ASAP and try to block movement with shackles. I'm new to this so that's be my overall strat. I feel like Tzeentch has no real hammer and you absolutely don't wanna go in melee because they all die so quickly.
  20. I'm trying to build a fun list for an upcoming tournament. I know Tzaangors suck but I spent ages painting them so I kinda wanna play them how does this list look? Do you guys see any major setbacks and if so, what should I change? Allegiance: Tzeentch- Change Coven: Hosts Arcanum- Grand Strategy: Prized Sorcery- Triumphs:LeadersKairos Fateweaver (435)Gaunt Summoner of Tzeentch (255)Ogroid Thaumaturge (165)The Blue Scribes (135)Tzaangor Shaman (135)Battleline10 x Kairic Acolytes (115)10 x Kairic Acolytes (115)10 x Kairic Acolytes (115)10 x Tzaangors (175)Units3 x Tzaangor Skyfires (210)Endless Spells & InvocationsUmbral Spellportal (70)Soulsnare Shackles (65)Total: 1990 / 2000Reinforced Units: 0 / 4Allies: 0 / 400Wounds: 100Drops: 10 Thank you for your input.
  21. I'm curious also about the artillery unit. At first it was kind of the buzz going around, lots of lists with it, etc. It turns out that no lists have em, even tho the meta is currently full of big monsters (I could be wrong though). I dunno I would've expected to see lists with 1 at least. Is it because Boltboyz spam is just better and more reliable?
  22. Wait.. how do you buy Boltboyz? Am I missing something or its the only unit we can't buy right now?
  23. The Guild of Summoners coven has an artefact that grants battleshock immunity in a 12in radius of the bearer. That's really helpful if you're heavy on mortals (like I am). You can also summon a LoC at 9 summoning points, so it might offer you an opportunity to choose. It seems Kairos is really strong if you have him starting in your list. The "change any dice" ability is really strong (cancel a charge) and he can knows the spells of every casters around so it opens the door for some powerful tricks (warscroll spells only). The latest Tzeentch focus on AoSCoach highlights some really interesting insights. But you're not wrong that they don't seem to have big nukes. It does look like you need to focus fire to kill.
  24. Any idea when we'll actually be able to pre-order Boltboyz? I feel like we're missing a few units to complete our armies.
