  1. It's unfortunate because I'd really like to have that Crawler to give some range to the army.
  2. So we know that Ossiarch Bonereapers cannot have allies, but does that mean that LoN will not be able to take them as an ally? What is everyone's thoughts about them being FAQ'd into LoN as an ally?
  3. What's the current Tier break down for AoS armies anyways?
  4. I just want to ally that catapult into my Legion of Blood army!
  5. Would be nice to see more of these siege weapons. Ballista's, Trebs, Catapults, etc.
  6. What's peoples thoughts on whether or not LoN will be able to take Ossiarch Bonereapers as an ally? Would love to have that Mortek Crawler to add some range to my Legion of Blood.
  7. What's everyone's thoughts on this? I usually play against Nighthaunt or Stormcast, but will be checking out my local scene in the near future to add some variety to the factions I play against. Realm: Shyish Legion of Blood General: Vampire Lord (with wings), -Aristocracy of Blood -Amethystine Pinions Vampire Lord on Zombie Dragon -Ethereal Amulet -Vile Transference Coven Throne -Soul Pike Necromancer -Fading Vigour Blood Knights x10 Chainrasp Horde x20 Chainrasp Horde x40 Dire Wolves x5 Dire Wolves x5 Aethervoid Pendulum 2000/2000 84 bodies, 146 total wounds. The 40 Chainrasp can be subbed out for 40 Skeletons, but I usually use the 40 man blob to soak up damage and board control, so with that I find that Chainrasp are better, also a little bit more maneuverable. The Necromancer supports the 40 man blob, Five Dire Wolves screen for the ten man unit of Blood Knights which is in range to recieve the Command Ability from the Coven Throne. Depending on what my opponent does, the Coven Throne can be close support. If that is the case then my General (Vampre Lord with Wings) will provide reroll to charges with his Command Trait. I made the normal Vampire Lord my General so he can break off and summon units at the Grave Sites if need be. The other five man unit of Dire Wolves are for objectives or flanking. The VLoZD does his own thing and depending on the type of game is also supported by 20 Chainrasp Horde. Finally I took the Pendulum for some mortal wound generation and it's a fairly safe endless spell that shouldn't come back to bite me unless I position myself poorly. Anyways, I don't really have experiance playing against other armies aside from Nighthaunt and Stormcast, so I'm not sure how it will work. I've tried to figure out a Battillion to use to lower my drops (since this has 9 total drops), but I just cannot fit anything good. If Court of Nulahmia had a Coven Throne instead of a Bloodseeker Palanquin I think it would be a lot better. I've considered making a list with Castellans of the Crimson Keep, but I really like being able to give the Ethereal Amulet to the VLoZD..
  8. Are we expecting to get all the update warscrolls this weekend or only a sneak peek since it is preorder week?
  9. So what does everyone think that Heros are going to be like for Cities of Sigmar since there is such a diverse battleline option list? A lot of the current Command abilities for msc. WHFB Heros state that that their command ability only has an effect on specific key words. I'm wondering if they reworded a lot of the Command Abilities so that the key word is "City of Sigmar" units, however that may lead to some real strong synergies. I know they mentioned on Monday with the Faction Focus: Cities of Sigmar, that units would likely be better if certain Heros were taken as your General, depending on what you plan to field.
  10. I'm fairly new to AOS (been playing for a couple months now) and play LoN, specifically Legions of Blood. None of the Order factions really appealed to me, however I am legitimately excited for Cities of Sigmar and I'm seriously considering putting an army together.
  11. I'm fairly new to AoS (couple months now), but I thought Chainrasps could only be Battleline in Nighthaunt armies?
  12. LoB player here, I can def vouch that a VLoZD & Blood Knights in LoB are super nasty. Plus, the fact that LoB can bring back something like a 40 man Skeleton Warrior horde, it just makes more sense to play LoB. Which is a shame, because I'd love to play Soulblight.
  13. I would absolutely love Soulblight / Vampires to get their own book. I play Legion of Blood and now that I've built my core army up I bought some Bleakswords that I'm going to paint up for some Vampire foot soliders but proxy them as Chainrasp. I just play with friends and not in any official GW tournaments.
  14. I'm fairly new to AoS, only been playing a few months now. However it seems to me that the LoN Battalion's aside from maybe The First Cohort are really bad. My two buddies play Nighthaunt and Stormcast and looking at their Battletome, it looks like there are way better Battalion options with a wide arrange of prices (Battalion and Units). Not only do the LoN Battalion Abilities seem lack luster but to even field most of the Battalion's, you're looking at a lot of points, when you take into account not only the Battalion cost but also the units you must take to field that Battalion. I'm I crazy or does LoN just suck with Battalion's? Side note, I'm a Legion of Blood player so I'm not really interested in Nagash nor his Battalion.
  15. I'm building a 2k list with a VLoZD & a Coven Throne. Like you said, it's really more for support.
  16. Quick question, if I play Legions of Blood and I have the Favoured Retainers Battle Trait, I assume it applies to the Zombie Dragons attacks? Since Favoured Retainers is neither an Artifact or Command Trait. Is this a correct understanding? For reference Favoured Retainers reads "Add 1 to the Attacks characteristic of all melee weapons used by Friendly Legion of Blood Vampire Lords and Legion of Blood Blood Knights."
  17. I think it could work, but what you will find is that the Blood Knights will be focused hard and if they get wiped in that 1k list you're basically left with a handful of Dire Wolves that aren't super great. Five man units of Dire Wolves is not going to wipe anything quickly, they're primarily good for objectives / being a screen. Which means you're left with Neferata to do heavy lifting, however she can be taken down somewhat easily. I play a lot of 1k armies and here is what has worked very well for me. Leaders: Vampire Lord (140) - Flying Horror -Artifact: Ethereal Amulet -Lore of the Vampires: Vile Transference -Command Trait: Walking Death (for D3 mortal wounds on 6's!) Necromancer (130) -Overwhelming Dread Cairn Wraith (60) Units: Blood Knights x5 (200) Dire Wolves x5 (70) Dire Wolves x5 (70) Skeleton Warriors x40 (280) Other Command Point or Aethervoid Pendulum The idea is that you have your Skeleton Warriors push up the main part of the board with the Necromancer supporting them. Blood Knights and Vampire Lord shadow them to provide counter charging. The Vampire Lord with the Etherial Amulet is reasonably tanky and then will be doing D3 mortal wounds on 6's with the Walking Death command trait, so he and the Blood Knights can really put the hurt on things. The Cairn Wraith supports a unit of Dire Wolves sitting on an objective (Cairn Wraith providing Deathless 6+ save), the other unit of Dire Wolves pushes the other side of the board seeking objectives OR tying up a unit in combat for your Skeleton Warriors or Blood Knights to hit. My last game the Aethervoid Pendulum really helped put wounds on a tightly packed group of Nighthaunt. I have ran two 5 man units of Blood Knights before in 1k but they become a primary focus and once they're taken out I lose a lot of my killing power. By having a 40 man Skeleton blob supported with a Necromancer that can put Vanhel's Danse Macabre on them, forces your opponent to take them as a serious threat. Plus you could also put the Vampire Lords Blood Feast on them for more killing power. Now all of a sudden that becomes a huge threat allowing the Blood Knights to flank and hit Hero's or another vital target.
  18. If I were to give my Vampire Lord on Zombie Dragon the Walking Death command trait (from Legion of Blood), does that apply to the Vampire Lords Sword/Lance rolls AND the Zombie Dragons rolls or only the Vampire Lord? The exact wording is: "If the hit roll for an attack made with one of this general's melee weapons is a 6+, do not roll to wound. Instead, the target suffers a number of mortal wounds equal to the Damage characteristic of that weapon." I'm assuming since it says "one of the general's weapons" it is only the Vampire Lord. However the reason I ask, is that I have seen other similar rules state you need to pick specifically ONE of the Commanders weapons for the "buff" to apply to.
  19. Ok thanks. Right now my buddy and I play 1k lists, so the Nagash thing wasn't a huge problem from me since he didn't fit in that list, but with the other points increases as well I can see 2k lists suffering. I'm just happy blood knights went down to 200 points.
  20. My buddy and I just started playing like a week before GHB19 came out. He plays NH and I play LoN. What were the huge blows to those armies? Dire Wolf & Grimghast point increase? Or am I missing something? Again, I just started playing so I very well could be ignorant to the nerfs, lol.
  21. Bladegheist Revanants are pretty good blenders. Two attacks at 3/3/-1/1 and three attacks if you charged. Seeing how they can retreat and charge in the same turn, you can get the three attacks fairly often. On top of that, if they are wholly within 12" of a friendly Spirit Torment or Chainghast they can re-roll ALL failed hit rolls (not just 1's).
  22. In Legions of Blood, the Favoured Retainers buff "adds 1 to the attack characteristic of all melee weapons used by friendly Legion of Blood Vampire Lords and Legion of Blood Blood Knights." Does mean that the Blood Knights horses also get an extra attack or only the Knights themselves?
