  1. So I have a thought/prediction/wishlist for the Kharadron release.  I'm reasonably positive that they haven't decided the direction they want to go with them yet, and are sinking most of their bigger efforts into Seraphon and the upcoming Dawnbringers, so the skybeards are probably only getting one kit.  But what will that kit be?

While I'm sure that a random foot hero is that actual answer to that question, that's kinda boring, and honestly not what I think the army needs.  So what do they need?  More sky boats!  So what kind of kit do they need?  A dual model kit that lets you make a new class of ship, as well as a special character version of the same model of ship.  Not only would this be a cool kit, but you could use some of the extra bits to kitbash some of the other skyships.

Any GW reps reading this can DM me and I'll let you know where you can mail me the money for this awesome idea.

  2. @Vasshpit All kinds of crazy contraptions, about a third of which blow themselves up or crash.  But the flagship is called the Jolly Orruck, with a gigantic, stitched-shut, enflated squig as a zepplin balloon that's pulled forward by two chained maw-crushas and fires squig catapults.  If that doesn't inspire a Grotbag Scuttlers army I don't know what will!

Stormcast don't have nearly the playerbase saturation that space marines have, and honestly there are a couple AoS factions that could easily give stormcast a run for their money (or outstrip them) if they got pushed a little harder with starter sets and the like. I'm thinking Gitz, Soulblight, Slaves to Darkness, and Dawnbringers for starters, and maybe even Ironjawz.
I remember hearing years ago that Orcs and Goblins were one of if not THE most popular faction from fantasy, but I can't remember where I heard it.
Plus there's no reason a dawnbringer crusade couldn't be accompanied, assisted or even led by a stormcast.
IMO if they break the mold and remove stormcast its gonna be Lumineth vs Umbraneth.
I'd be super hype if they did baddies vs baddies though, like Gitz vs Chaos Dwarves, or OBR vs StD

I would be beyond stoked for a Lumineth vs. Umbraneth box.  I will be over the moon for Malerion to show up, because when he does, Tyrion won't be far behind to lay the smack down!

Also, I'd like to point out that Isle of Blood did sell well among High Elf players, and they were the most played of the "good guy" factions.

  5. Hey all, I'm sorting through my backlog and finally getting around to the Kruleboyz portion of my Dominion box.  Can any one suggest some good ideas for color schemes for a Hysh based army?  I was thinking a sickly yellow for the regular Kruleboyz, but I'm not sure what to do with the Hobgrotz and monster critters.

  6. It took me a while, but I think I finally managed to port my AoS2 list to AoS 3.  I could use some advice on Enhancement choice though.  It looks something like this:

  7. I'm cautiously intruiged.  So far, I haven't really been a fan of the elementari, possibly because they aren't dragons.  That said, I could see having at least one monster being a starting point for competitive lists, if for no other reason than the utility.  In that scenario, I think Avalenor beats out Sevireth in most lists.  We have a plethora of harassement units, but few true hammers.

Now, what could change all of this is the rumor of secondary objectives for each army that has been floating around.  That could really flip things topsy-turvey.

Edit: When Lord Tyrion finally arrives, I hope he brings home with him the Phoenix Guard and Phoenix riders where they belong.  At which point I will once again have a Phoenix in every army list.

  8. Quick, someone get @Yondaime a Cathallar to deal with the psychic trauma!

In all seriousness, not really.  The generic battalions they've been teasing are actually rather intruiging.  And our battalions aren't really that amazing, they're mostly used to lower our number of drops.  One of the other little tidbits floating around is that battalions might not affect drops any more.  I'm honestly hoping this is all true so that it encourages more build diversity.  Maybe there will be a reason to take models that don't see competitive play more often (looking at you Bladelords!).

  9. At this point, Alarith players might be out of luck unless you play narrative only.  The new battalions are going to be the only ones available during match play, and I'm not sure the Ymetrica subfaction is enough to carry a competitve list by itself.  Sorry to all of our Hammerbros!

On the plus side though, I think Alumnia's stock is on the rise, especially with the smaller board size.

  10. Well, after finally getting a chance to sneak a look at the new stuff, it looks like I am splitting the box after all.  My daughter started watching over my shoulder, and when she saw the SCE models she said, "Those are cool daddy!  Can I play with the angel girl when you get them?"  Good thing I really like the new Kruleboyz!

On to more important matters.  It has come to my attension that there has been much elf slandering going on these last several pages.  As I am too noble and just to read the words of the lesser races, all I can say is that I can hear your jealousy, though it sounds very far off, as though the noise is coming from the height of my knees. 😎

I’m inclined to agree with you on the Kragnos stuff. Yeah, a Gorkamorka centrepiece seems like the obvious move, but it also feels so right. Even the non-greenskin Destruction races worship a facet of him, unless I’ve misunderstood? I can only assume there will be some new Destruction races coming that are so left-field, it wouldn’t make sense for Gorkamorka to represent them. If not, I’m increasingly feeling like Kragnos is a strange choice for Destruction...

I’ve been wondering if this new subfaction of Orruks is as much to expand the Orruk Warclans book as it is to unite it. Obviously they’re potato cam smudges right now, but I can kind of see the wildness of the Bonesplitterz meeting the forged iron of the... Ironjaws. It would be one way of uniting two closely-tied subfactions that otherwise feel quite disparate, while at the same time providing a broader range of unit choices/a ‘refresh’ to an existing Battletome.

To build on that, if they do it right, the Dispossessed could do the same for the rumored Duardin soup book.

On a side not, has anyone noticed on the US site that almost the entire Cities range is out of stock?
