  1. @Aren73 If it makes you feel any better, I feel your pain. I've been a high elf player for 25 years. I was beyond stoked when the initial Lumineth rumors came out.....until they stopped, and half the army were cow heads, with more named characters than not, and no warrior characters. I bought the initial box, but what little if the army there was, and the cow heads, killed my enthusiasm. Luckily, the second wave gave us models I do like, enough to ignore the parts that aren't for me. All I can say is, if there are parts you like, collect and paint those. And hold out hope they may add stuff you do like!
  2. Then add Gordrakk and a Frostlord and you have the starting line-up for Destruction!
  3. This is why I have my best tantrum-throwing-pants on. They're light and stretchy so they don't tear when I'm kicking and thrashing about!
  4. @Tiberius501 After chiding you for your comments reguarding Eltharion and Grom, I deserve that.
  5. @Deakz28 Ha, I wish! I just have faith in Malerion's dastardly plans!
  6. @Deakz28 I predict that there will be absolute carnage with Kragnos, Kroak, the Slaaneshi Twins, Gordrakk, the Sylvanth, and the Stormcast beating the snot out each other.... ....and then in a brief snippet in the background we see Malerion say, "And that, Be'lakor, is how you do a 'Just As Planned.' "
  7. https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/generic?iso=20210503T18&p0=136&font=cursive This should help!
  8. Here's another interesting thing to keep in the back of your mind in reguards to 3E. Warhammer Weekly propsed that they may be changing how Endless Spells work along with the other changes. If so, Teclis + Spellportal may be a radically different set up for the hardcore lists.
  9. A true elf accepts the disdain and vitriol of their lessers as a fine wine to savor in the night before a warm fire in a comfy chair. Also, as someone who lived through the dark days of WHFB 6th edition and the Intrigue at Court rule, I can only laugh at players who think elves have always had it good. You don't know fustration as a player until you lose an entire tournament because the dice decided that your Leadership 10, 600+ point prince on a dragon with all the bells and whistles isn't your general. Instead your spindly 180 point scroll caddy wizard is. And he got sniped by a lucky cannon shot in turn 1.
  10. That's because elves are naturally superior to short, stunted, hairy people. And to think your folk had the nerve to get upset when we showed you how to shave for the first time!
  11. @Yuviel Lightbringer All of your statements are true. But as someone who watched the X-men cartoon extensively as a child, I have an unhealthy attatchment to people who shoot lasers out of their eyes. When I finally get to my Lord Regent model, I am totally painting a glow affect around the eye sockets!
  12. My prediction for next week: Tears. Complaints. Possible full-blown tantrums laying on the floor kicking and screaming. How are the rest of you planning on reacting?
  13. Sadly, my LGS kepps having to close down their open play area, so no gaming for me at the moment. It's made doubly fustrating because the crab joint next door is doing rediculous amounts of business.... On the plus side, I think I've nailed down my color scheme for my first several units, so the painting can finally commence!
  14. I'm a Zaitrec fan myself. The 2k army I was proxying before the new book dropped I ran in Zaitrec and had some good results. I like Alumnia more, though. Movement shennanigans are some of my favorite things. Too bad our Windriders are mostly meh. I miss my Ellyrian Reavers....
  15. @Cronotekk Something similar happened back when they made the switch to 6th WHFB. It's system was so radically different that they made a pamphlet called Ravening Hordes to tide people over till they got an army book. Now this was pre-internet days, but I still think it would be a painful transition like 6th was.
  16. So as a Lumineth player, I just bought another Battletome that is ivalidated in a couple months. Lovely.
  17. @willange The twins Ellathor and Ellania are listed as " Zenith Warsages" in the Lumineth book. I'm not sure the Zenith number more than a handful of prodigies.
  18. Well, that's sad. And if that happens, I'm absolutely sure we will hear the internet's shouts if happiness, as well as the gloating saying we deserved it.
  19. @Indecisive Ha ha ha if someone had described the army to me like that, I might have picked up Sylvaneth! 😄
  20. @GrimDork The only problem I see is if the rumors about 3E are true. One of the most prominent I've heard is they are going to some generic battalions for Matched Play to help balance things a better. That's why I'm just playing with paint at the moment until the dust settles.
  21. The silouettes on the the tendrils aren't the same. That rumors engine has tyrannid style exoskeleton portion toward the end. Meanwhile, the teaser picture has thorny looking parts coming off. Also, the hand and pointed ear lends itself to either an elf or vampire model. Not going to lie, I thought it was a redone Lady Olyndar at first till I enlarged the picture.
  22. @GrimDork Thanks for the ideas. Ellathor has one of my least favorite connections to see on a model, where you have to glue both hands to both wrist sockets. My shakey hands love messing up those sort of models.
  23. @Tiberius501 Sacrilege! You wear Eltharion's picture and speak of Grom?!?
  24. Question: has anyone else painted/assembled the Twins yet? If so, how many sub assemblies did you use? I'm staring at the sprue at the moment trying to wrap my brain around it.
  25. @Siegfried VII I agree. The breakdowns on not just what the list does, but what each unit is trying to accomplish and why certain battalions were chosen was really good. That final list they went over almost made me want to play Alarith from a tactical perspective. And I think one of the most interesting take-aways was the line, "The Loremaster is a character you start all of your listbuilding from, and then justify why not to take him, instead of the other way around." I actually want to give it a second listen when I'm not at work and can concentrate fully on what they're talking about.
