  1. I haven't used them since 8th edition WHFB days, but I know a couple of CoS players who rave about Shadow Warriors since the BT dropped. I like my Reavers (my current painting project), but your army comp is a lot different, and might benefit more from what Shadow Warriors bring to the table as a chaff unit.
  2. Not sure the Thralls are doing much for you in this list. I know you said you can't really change it much, but if you're looking for future investment, they're the first thing I'd change. As it is now, they're probably on bodyguard duty for your Tidecaster. And hopefully can grab some backfield objectives.
  3. Not sure I'd include the Leviadon if you aren't using the Ahkelian Corp battallion. Especially if you are using the King as your general, you probably want more eels than Namarti.
  4. @Thiagoma Yes! All the yes! Especially since Teclis is supposed to be mostly ethereal now. I'd like to say Tyrion is some dramatic action pose, riding some fantastical new Hysh creature (a crystalline dracoform perhaps?), with spirit-Teclis floating behind him.
  5. I hope they release a Tyrion model. I'd be severely disappointed if we only got Teclis.
  6. Heh, to date myself a bit, I still have my copy of the original Warhammer Quest. Some good times wrapped up in that box.
  7. So, that's actually an interesting thought. Reaver Knights and Swordmasters were two of the concept art pieces they flashed up, along with archers and spearmen. I wonder if that was a sly little hint that that is then direction they're going with the new line?
  8. Much as I would love a resurgence of my White Lions, I think re-imagined Swordmasters are probably the way they'll go. After all, "enlightment" seems to be the theme of Hysh, and the Swordmasters were enlightened sword sages.
  9. Man I hope so. I'd love to see Tyrion leading the new dragon-riding faction. Although I heard someone spitballing winged-lion cavalry the other day, and my Chracian heart skipped a beat!
  10. Gotta say, your blog has inspired me. I realized since reading it that I've accidently managed to hobby every day of the new year! And thanks to the new teaser of Pointy Aelves, my current project even has a deadline. Thanks for the help kicking me into high gear!
  11. I hope they bring Tyrion back with Teclis. They way they've described them up to this point they sound rather dependent on each other. Hinestly, the Twins are what got me into Warhammer in the first place, I can't wait!
  12. But one is battleline and one isn't. And while Thralls aren't horrible, they aren't amazing on their own either. I don't usually use the Namarti Corps battalion, and I don't use my King as my general. So if I have to take battleline, a mix between Thralls and Reavers works. Also, I hate to say it, but my Deepkin army just got put on a shot clock. Teclis' Pointy Aelves are coming, and while I enjoy the fish aelves, Tyrion (and I guess Teclis) are why I originally got into Warhammer!
  13. I like them, but they do take some practice. They're an excellent chaff unit, and great objective grabbers.
  14. Thanks! And funny enough, I almost did a Skorne army back in the day. As for color scheme, I just lifted the Fuethian color scheme right from the Battletome. This project was more about me getting back into the hobby after a really long break, and I wasn't sure how good I'd be. So rather than hurt my brain going over my color wheel, I just went with what they had. That way I can focus more on re-teaching myself to paint. If you don't have the Battletome, let me know and I'll be happy to list things out for you.
  15. After an incredibly busy holiday season I managed to finally finish my Soulrender! It was nice to be able to focus on just one model after the unit of Thralls, so that will probanly be my pattern going forward. My character models will be reward for getting the full units painted. So, onto C'ularad. He's a jovial guy, for a Soulrender. He has a very black sense of humor that has made him more popular with the troops than Soulrenders usually are. There's also the fact that he's usually right in the thick of combat with the Namarti, unlike the rest of the Isharann. Stay tuned for progress on my unit of Reavers next!
  16. @Acid_Nine Mine's on order, but it won't be here till Friday. My Christmas present to myself.
  17. @Greyshadow I hear that with the kids. I work for the postal servoce, at this point I'm looking forward to Christmas day just to have a day off.
  18. Also, while drinking and reading this, finally got some hobby time in! Here's a WIP of my Soulrender.
  19. Ha ha ha I love how we're running with this idea! Funny how out of no where we almost have a viable shark army!
  20. I think you'd have to drop a shark, as sad as that is. You're kind of all-in with how this army is working, I say you just eat any incoming magic and go hard. Your Ishlaen chase objectives, and you use your Soulscryer and amushing sharks go mage hunting (except for maybe the random Nagash or Morathi).
  21. Not sure if the Tidecaster really adds anything to that list. He's not keeping up with the rest of your forces, and isn't going to be force multiplying much. Maybe a Soulscryer instead for potential ambushes with the sharks? And what enclave would you use?
  22. In a more hobby related question, anyone have any advice for the flying stands for the eels? I've never used them before, and my eels have been running around being bluetac'ed to the bases, but it's now time to start basing and painting them.
  23. Thanks for the input. And I use Battlescroll because I'm old and it's what I've been using for years.
