  1. I hope they just go like

Ranged guys. Judicators ( no bows or xbows but just 1 ranged option)

Hunters from the same kit or just delete it. Honestly ive got so much sce i really want to scale things down to fewer options.

  2. The thing with that list is... no interaction. Its just you bombing your stuff. Auto win or if the enemy survives you can play mayb a few turns. Its fun for 1 tournament maybe but it gets boring for both sides pretty fast. Ive played the vex spam and the lack of actual interaction between players and between units felt so boring. At the end of the tournament i didnt feel like i played a game of warhammer i just played a game where i did 1 trick for 5 games...

Wouldnt recommend to build it to any one who loves combat interaction or movement tricks/ interaction

Thanks for the replies! Up ontil now I have been running a Sancrosanct list. Now I am trying to do something a little more competitive. This is the list that I was thinking about running.

     - Army Faction: Stormcast Eternals
         - Army Type: Scions of the Storm
         - Subfaction: Knights Excelsior
         - Grand Strategy: No Place for the Weak
    LEADERS
    Celestant-Prime (330)*
    Lord-Imperatant (140)*
         - General
         - Command Traits: Master of Magic
         - Artefacts of Power: Arcane Tome
    Lord-Relictor (130)*
         - Prayers: Translocation
    BATTLELINE
    Annihilators (300)*
    Annihilators (300)*
    Annihilators (300)*
    Vindictors (110)*
    OTHER
    Stormstrike Chariot (150)
         - Great Stormbow and Stormstrike Axe
    Stormstrike Chariot (150)*
         - Great Stormbow and Stormstrike Axe
    ENDLESS SPELLS & INVOCATIONS
    1 x Everblaze Comet (90)
    CORE BATTALIONS
    *Battle Regiment
    TOTAL POINTS: 2000/2000

I wanted to maximize my deep strike ability. Vindictors hold a backfield objective and provide look out sir to the two Lords. Chariots provide some mobile options, and the rest are deep strike bombs.

    What do you guys think?

    Some advice,

Celestant prime atm isnt really worth it in most cases.
Get spears instead of bows on the chariots
Comet is nice for battle tactic but u can also do lightning blast and cast it in a corner outside of dispel range for free battletactic.
U could use hunters for easy battletactics.
Annihilators with grand hammers are stronger than shields.
Lord relictor can really use high priest to be super reliable.
spellcast savant is our best grand strat atm

  4. What do you guys think of Fjori's Flamebearers?

Would it do something for me? I like the models and wondering if i can make use of this unit outside of the fyreslayers battletome.
For example play it with SCE or Cities of sigmar.

    Initial thoughts are.

    Hero good.

    heartguard x5 useless
Berserkers x5 they want to be a unit of 10...
    10 Vulkite good.

    Special rules. Decent

That's why I am loving playing Astral Templars with 3*5 Hunters as battlelines and high drops. With the three movement-based battle tactics (2 generic + the new SCE one) easily achievable and Magical Dominance doable by counter-deploying (unless Seraphon...), I generally have 4 tactics in the bag and I just need an opening for the 5th (Draconith Destruction if available, for which I am bringing the usual suspects 4 Tempestors). Mind you, I am not saying it's good, but at least it covers the battle tactics side

    I love this.

  6. Hi all,

Me and my girlfriend want to start playing warhammer underworlds together.

Ive got a domitans stormcoven models+deck and she wants to play Lady Harrows Mournflight

But where to go from there? we can both get the deckboxes and play with the models we like. But we still need basic deck cards, a board etc. We do not really care for extra deck/warbands for now but its always nice to have them.

    60010799020_WHUStarterSet2.jpg

Is this still the best choise for us?

or is this also a good option?

Agree with this. Age of Sigmar has 24 solid thematic factions. (9 Order, 7 Chaos, 4 Death. 4 Destruction) We are a good year away from the launch of 4th Edition and with Cities and FEC on the horizon, the game will be "complete". By the end of the year. With each Faction sitting on a V3 version of their codex. How do people feel about the release schedule in terms of Battletomes over the last 3 years? I remember a convo before stating that a "hard cap" of 30 factions for Age of Sigmar would be a good spot. Whilst this is possible, I'm not sure if it would be good for the game if there are as many as that.

I know there are many that will have kittens at the suggestion, but I still think it would be better for the game as a whole if Duardin (Fyreslayers, Kharadon and Dispossessed) - (As well as other Duardin types) were all presented under one Duardin Battletome. With the emphasis on picking one sub-faction but with less effective soup lists possible. I also think the return of Malerion and the introduction of Shadow elves should be presented alongside the Daughters of Khaine under a single Battletome.

For me, Age of Sigmar should stick with '24 Factions' and look to develop and expand on them. A consolidation of the Duardin under one Battletome and the reunification of Morathi and Malerion under another would allow for the introduction of lots of cool Duardin and Shadow Aelf models without expanding the number of factions. There would even be a free space for something completely new. 24 factions is a good amount IMO (With 3-year edition cycles = 34/36 months) Having 10 months worth of space to allow the edition to breathe and for campaigns etc is important.

Or you could say ****** it, add new factions every year or so and double up on releases. With how mature many of the ranges are, they could just keep expanding.

I just want to see updated models and mayb slink some of the ranges. For example i dont like that looks like city's is going to keep most of the warscrolls. I would prefer to soup some. Same goes for stormcast. To many warscrolls seem to ruin the imbalance of the battletome like a lot. And lots of scrolls never see play or are just space waste.

When i look at skaven i just want them to have lots of updated models to get them back into the table. And reignite some of the love for them. When al  the old models are updated we can expand some of the races or get a new race into the lineup.

There is a rumor running around with a all GHB points. A bit crazy for my KOs, that all lists are going to have over +300/+400 points.

    140p for Arkanaurs...

i heard that armies that can still do easy book tactics are going to get a point hike. And other armies that have a hard time doing book tactics are getting a bit more love in point drops.

While Matched Play is supposed to be the most fair way to play AoS,  the balance between battle tactics within both seasons and battletomes has been terrible for the whole edition. I feel bad for someone who decided to start AoS with SoB, I really hope this won’t happen again in v4.

i hope for tournament play we wont allow book tactics..

    for sons.. i feel sorry

    some GHB rumours collated

    battle tactics:

    1. more friendly units wholly outside your territory than friendly units within your territory
    2. kill a unit that destroyed a friendly general earlier in the battle
    3. pick a unit bonded to an endless spell or incarnate, succeeds if you kill the unit, make the incarnate wild, make the endless spell wild, make the endless spell controlled/ bound to a friendly unit
    4. cast 1 or more spells and ensure NONE of your spells were unbound
    5. kill a nominated unit with damage from a spell or endless spell
    6. retreat with 2 or more units, charge with 2 or more units
    7. make a charge with 1 or more friendly heroes and 1 or more friendly battleline and at least 1 of those units is still within 3" of an enemy unit at the end of the turn
    8. pick 3 different friendly units on the battlefield, complete the tactic if each of those units is wholly within 6" of a different board edge and 2 or more of those units are wholly outside your territory

    Geminids is gross again

No commands till end of turn

Unbind range is now done to spell portal not to hero for spellportal

    primal dice:
Start of each turn both players roll a dice. For each 4+ rolled both players get a primal dice. (if both players roll a 4+ both get 2 dice). Then when casting after you have made the casting roll but before any rerolls (cant be used with a reroll) you can add a primal dice in to your CV and roll for the result. You can do this as many times as you like.

Then your opponent rolls their unbind and can do the same thing

if double 1 is rolled in any combination for the cast it does a big miscast which is

3+D3 to the caster and D3 to every other unit within 3. If 2 6s are rolled the spell cant be unbound and both players get another primal dice

Wonder if we going to see a lot of big casters with this higher risk.
    Battletactics seem hard to do.

  12. Im not hating it so much just yet. I see potential here. After this weekend tournament with a lot of dragon/longstrike/fulms spam i hoped for something to happen. Cause it was to much. Even citys where not really citys but just stormcast with another flavor.

im not sure i love it but i dont hate this cause you get punished by getting to much comp units and looking back at some of the games it would swing deff the otherway cause some games where close to 1/4 vp. And winning with a worse list without comp vs a full comp list now matters.

No shade on Cinderfall Gaming but they frequently make videos on whatever they dredge up from 4chan, so I don't put any stock in these "rumours"

if you ask me, Cinderfall gaming puts out to much content for the sake of making content.

Translocation isn't a nerf, it is a correction of what everyone should have known would be the rules...

Don't forget that Stormcast have been performing VERY well with a wide variety of lists. Most without a relictor and half of the release!

We have a good book at the moment, not perfect, but good.

my answer to this would be... No no and no..

with the new book, a lot of lists really looked at the translocation relictor combo. As translocation was forgotten by a few FAQ already many of us believed it was intentional. This even more because al other movement tricks where nerfed or removed.

We havent got a wide variety of lists doing well? we only got a few tournament data and our own data that we discus here. On tournament data we have 1 lists with a relictor 4 fulms and 6 longstrike. Yes this list can function without the relictor but no where near as good. And a knight judicator spam list. Other lists are insert translocation relictor and teleport protectors or imperitant annihilator swarm. Its really not that wide of a variation when you look at how insane amount of troop and hero choise we have.

Good? mayb but mostly pretty boring.

I don't think he's a rule writer - rather oversees AOS in the studio. Certainly he is a skilled player with extra knowledge, but there are a lot of misconceptions about the Stormcast book from people who I've wagered have played very little with it. Better to approach things with an open mind.

Ben told me he isnt involved into rule writing but he has a lot of stuff to say about direction of the game and story line. He's also a pretty skilled player. Had the honor of meeting him @belgium 2 years ago

where he faced of against my buddy's khorne army with his Archaon. Can  tel you he's a pretty sweet player that knows what hes doing.

  16. if translocation gets a nerf, it feels SUPER bad for all my oldcast. Dont wanna go back to shootcast/dragons again.

Yesterday ive played a game on TTS with the new dragons against DOK. My god dragons are SUPER good. Ive played  a lot of games with 15 protectors but damn, dragons just feel insane

That -1 to wound is soooo good on a warscroll like that.

Hate to see only dragon lists. I like the way translocation opens up other variations of lists
