  1. Hey gang, I was looking for some input on the list I'm gonna run (just a 1 day thing) this weekend. I know we're all waiting for the new Battle Tome to drop but we gotta do something to pass the time, right?! Anywho, what are y'alls thoughts on this list? I'm still trying to decide if I want to swap out Bash 'Em Ladz for Power of Da WAAAGH!. My idea is to move the army up, put said shaman on the vortex, then WAAAGH! bomb everything, but vortex and re-rolls is just as tempting. LoL I'm still getting the feel for Ironjawz so any input would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance 😃 Allegiance: IronjawzMortal Realm: HyshLeadersMegaboss on Maw-Krusha (420)- General- Choppa and Rip-tooth fist- Trait: Hulking Muscle-bound Brute- Artefact: Gleaming BladeOrruk Weirdnob Shaman (120)- Artefact: Aetherquartz Brooch- Spell: Da Great Big Green Hand of GorkOrruk Weirdnob Shaman (120)- Artefact: The Golden Toof- Spell: Bash 'Em LadzBattleline10 x Orruk Ardboys (140)- 10x Big Choppas10 x Orruk Brutes (340)- Jagged Gore-hackas- 2x Gore Choppas5 x Orruk Brutes (170)- Pair of Brute Choppas- 1x Gore Choppas3 x Orruk Gore Gruntas (140)- Pig-iron Choppas3 x Orruk Gore Gruntas (140)- Pig-iron ChoppasBattalionsIronfist (160)Bloodtoofs (80)Endless Spells / TerrainChronomantic Cogs (80)Balewind Vortex (40)Total: 2000 / 2000Extra Command Points: 3Allies: 0 / 400Wounds: 121
  2. Might wanna check out West Wind Miniatures, they have some pretty solid range of Viking miniatures https://westwindproductions.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=192_74_180
  3. Alright, this is a list I'm working on for a tournament next month. It has all the standard Ironjawz stuff with a few exceptions. Before you discount the Megaboss hear what my thoughts are on how to use it. The idea with him over the Warchanter is that he can affect multiple Brute units as opposed to the Warchanters single unit. With Cogs up, and the bonus speed from the Battalions; everything should move up the board fairly quick. Now, the plan is to have the Shaman teleporting up different units while the Megaboss moves up and helps protect the Shaman. Then, once everyone is in place, the Shaman teleports the Megaboss next to the Brute units! If I position everything correctly (and terrain doesn't mess thing up) the Brute units should benefit from the re-rolls. Either way, at least 2 Brute units will for sure get the benefit. The real question is, which buff is better? Is +1 to hit or re-roll 1's to hit better? I'm gonna test the army out a few times and see how it does but, I wanted to get some feedback beforehand. Any input is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance! As this army as a Speed Freaks(ish) army, all their boots will be painted red. Cause as we all know, RED GOES FASTA!!
  4. LoL I can dig it, though coming back from Warmachine (after playing in Warhammer tournaments for 15+ years) it's hard to shake the "winning is fun" mentality. Not to say anything bad about that community of players mind you, because they are mostly awesome people; the list building there is different. In Warmachine you are encouraged to take the hardest and meanest list that you can since it's what everyone else is doing. Plus, there are FEC lists out there that are far worse than mine =P Honestly, I'd love to be able to take a softer/fluffier list; seeing what's doing well at tournaments dissuades me from that though. I don't think my all GK on foot list would do too well against 40 Eels... If you don't mind, what does your list for FEC look like? Or, if you're not currently playing FEC, what would you run if you were? You're very active on the forums (which is great since you provide constructive criticism) so I'd be curious to see how you would optimize a list. Thanks for the word of caution; that's what I've been wrestling with! How do I best use these spells without it working out better for my opponent?! LoL I guess that's something practice will have to teach me. 😃
  5. For sure about the Chalice, that why I plan on summoning Serfs around it. I've been talking to a few of my buddies that have been playing for a while and this is the new list I came up with based on their suggestions. LoL it's juuuust a bit different than the above list... 6. LoL glad I found this post; I didn't want to add to the FEC mega-thread anything unnecessary. There is a tournament coming up in July and this is the list I'm thinking about running. Let me know what you guys and ghouls (yeah, I'm still usin' that...big deal, wanna fight about it?) think if you don't mind. If it turns out too weak then I'll probably try and run the nastiest Gristlegore list I can make. Thanks in advance 😃 Allegiance: Flesh Eater Courts - Grand Court: Court of Delusion - Crusading Army Mortal Realm: Aqshy The bonus from “Crusading Army” is that everything in the list adds +1 to movement and +1 to charge rolls. When the Cogs are up and running that will give everything in the army +3 movement and +3 to charge rolls! This list is built to be stupid fast. The idea is to capture objectives super-fast and/or engage my opponent and summon up troops behind them. Leaders Abhorrant Ghoul King on Royal Terrorgheist (400) - General - Trait: Magestic Horror - Artefact: Magmaforged Blade - Lore of Madness: Blood Feast - Mount Trait: Gruesome Bite So this guy’s trait allows him to summon a unit of 3 Knights (Crypt Horrors or Crypt Flayers) for free each turn, which is pretty slick. His signature spell, if you will, allows me to pick a unit and give them a 5+ ward save for a turn. The TG trait allows me to re-roll missed attacks with its gaping maw. Abhorrant Ghoul King on Royal Zombie Dragon (440) - Lore of Madness: Monstrous Vigour - Mount Trait: Razor-clawed This guy can spend a CP and summon a Courtier (Infernal, Haunter, Ghast or Varghulf) which more often than not will be a Varghulf. The bonuses that the Varghulf gives will come into play quite a bit. Now, this guy’s signature spell allows all friendly FEC units wholly within 16” to re-roll failed wound rolls. Pretty freaking nice eh?! Abhorrant Archregent (200) - Artefact: Thermalrider Cloak - Lore of Madness: Blood Feast or Spectral Host (haven't decided which would be best) Ahhh the Archregent, this guy is almost too awesome for words. His signature spell allows me to pick a friendly FEC unit and add D3 attacks to ALL of its melee attacks. Plus, he has to choice to spend a CP and summon either 1 Courtier (Haunter, Infernal, Ghast or Varghulf), 3 Knights (Horrors or Flayers), or 20 Serfs (Crypt Ghouls). Most likely he will be summoning Crypt Horrors along with the GKoTG. So that will give a total of 6 Crypt Horrors and a Varghulf to boost them up. Crypt Ghast Courtier (60) Uhhh, this guy is just here for the battalion... Battleline 10 x Crypt Ghouls (100) 10 x Crypt Ghouls (100) 10 x Crypt Ghouls (100) Behemoths Royal Zombie Dragon (300) Battalions Ghoul Patrol (180) Endless Spells / Terrain Chronomantic Cogs (60) Chalice of Ushoran (40) Charnel Throne Total: 1980 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 1 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 83
  7. LoL well, in all honesty, I took the Royal Family battalion so I could get another artifact. I figure if I use one of my Ghoul Lords to summon a Varghulf or some such then the "muster" thing will come in handy. Yeppers, that's the idea, cast a spell then dance, cast a spell then dance 😃 And whoops, the second Ghoul King should have Monstrous Vigor, not Spectral Host...guess I was getting a little too click happy. Yeah, I was toying with the idea of switching the Generals around, though I didn't know if that would make the list too powerful. Heck yeah, I want to keep Feeding Frenzy going as long as possible! That ability is just stupid good! I'm trying to make the list outside of the norm, that way it will catch people off guard. LoL in over the 19 years I've played at tournaments one thing was certain; you could always expect quite a few people to show up with the same list. Because of that people would tech against it and or have played against it enough to where they knew how to handle it. Though if I throw a curveball list their way...
  8. Gotcha, so my suspicion was correct. LoL it's nice to know some things haven't changed I suppose, and as fun as that list would be to run, I wouldn't want my opponents to have a bad time. With that in mind, I put together another list that is along the same vein, just without ALL the nasty. Would you mind letting me know your thoughts on it? It's rare to get honest and constructive criticism (without all the negativity associated with it) and I appreciate it very much.
  9. LoL well crud, I guess I'll have to change up the list a bit. There was a pretty slick looking list that I found online somewhere, I believe the name of the person was Ben Johnson? I love the idea of all those Terrorgheists flying around but I come from way back in the day; I switched over to Warmachine when AoS came out. So the thought of running 4 Terrorgheists doesn't seem like it would be any fun for my opponent to face. That being said, is that list (if you're familiar with it) too OP and or no fun to fight against? I really dig the idea of it. Having all those things flying around, combined with all the different unit types that the Abhorrant Ghouls can summon, looks like fun on a bun! If that list isn't viewed negatively by most players then I might just use that one.
  10. Good morning all. As I'm new to this army and game (coming over from Warmachine) I'm looking for some feedback on my list. The general idea behind it is to have the 3 critters flying around and causing havoc where needed, which is increased by the -2 Bravery. The Crypt Horrors will be the anvil units and will be supported by the Ghoul Lords when needed. They should be resilient enough to last for a while, especially after I summon a 2nd Crypt Haunter Courtier. The idea is to keep the Ghoul Kings close enough to were the target of the Ghoul King w/ Banshee Blade is suffering for the -2 Bravery. Since that Ghoul King will get to attack twice (still need to roll 6+ on the hit) I'm hoping he'll be able to dish out some serious damage. So what do you guys and ghouls (I'm not apologizing for that =P ) think, is the army sound or does it need to be changed up? Thanks in advance!
