  1. If the stormcast side of the box is ~25 models, what haven't we seen yet? 10x Liberators (5 shield + 5 dual) 3x Prosecutors 3x Ruinator bladeguard Ravenclaw mounted lord Bookcover foot lord Probably 1-2 other foot heros That still leaves around 5-7 models. I wonder if the final unit(s) are redesigns or new?
  2. If sequitors were 130 (same as vindis) I think they would become a valid option, but as long as they're more expensive, vindis and libs just offer more efficiency.
  3. Just finished this up, do you think it will pass as a Lord Relictor?
  4. I think it's a fairly strong warscroll burdened with a too high points cost. Solid damage and range, aoe mortals, and gryphhounds are good for deepstrikers. But it's cost is just too much, like many of our other heros.
  5. You also need enough boots on the ground for the ones in scions. That and home objectives are the reason for the vindictors.
  6. I have an event coming up and with no chance of the new units dropping in time I was thinking of bringing a shoot cast list. How does this look? Celestial Warbringers Ordinator Relictor 2x5 Vindictors 1x5 Sequitors 4x Ballista 1x6 Longstrike Raptors And then either an Incantor and more Sequitors (and make the Vindictors x10), or a Knight Judicator and Aetherwings for more pew pew and gryph shenanigans. I'm still lost on battalions but it is a ton of long range shooting. Definitely not a 5-0 list but hoping it can win a few. Thoughts or tweaks?
  7. What about a more pressure oriented list? Something like this that gets in the opponents face and does tons of splash MWs. Krondys (chain lightning) Incantor (menagerie trait, lightning blast) 2x5 vindictors 2x3 Annihilators 2x3 Annihilators with hammers Everblaze comet Between the spells and annihilator MWs on drop and charge a lot of smaller units and heroes will crumple turn 1. The Annihilators and Krondys are no slouches in combat either. This would be in KE for the bonus + battle line too.
  8. Yeah. Somebody left off the heraldor's whole ability, and misprinted the lord exorcist at 175 pts.
  9. Good point on it taking 2+ turns of combat to even out for the swords. Magnets it is, but lances to start I guess. I could have sworn an annihilator spam list won a tournament before the new book. I found this BoLS article and list but can't speak to other details without more digging. It would still work now but I wonder if there are better tweaks to be made. BoLS The list: Yndrasta the Celestial Spear Lord-Arcanum Celestial Staves: Mindlock Staff Lord Imperatant General Command Trait: Staunch Defender Artefact: Amulet of Destiny 5 x Vindicators 5 x Vindicators 5 x Vindicators 3 x Annihilators 3 x Annihilators 3 x Annihilators 3 x Annihilators 3 x Annihilators
  10. Two questions: 1. If you're going annihilator heavy for the mortals. How many squads? Shields/hammers? My first thought is x5 units but then you almost need to go shields to save points. What else would you bring to round out the list? 2. With the Stormdrakes, I know the numbers have been crunched on lance vs sword, but in terms of actual game play which seems better? With no way to retreat and charge, are lances good enough even with the higher damage? Anyone tried these out in an actual game to compare?
  11. I'm currently thinking something like this: Krondys Draconis Incantor 2xSDG 1xSDG 2x5 Vindictors 2xChariots Probably not tuned enough. But has a few hammer units with some solid objective holders/grabbers. Incantor was more for points, but a voidstorm is always nice on a crucial cast.
  12. That only means one won't get to attack initially. Units of 3 lessen the value of translocation and buffs. The 6th still counts for lightning arcs too.
  13. Until (if) translocation is faq'd, I'm thinking 6 dracolines is a strong candidate to destroy a flank or key target. Unlike some of the other options (paladins) they're mobile enough after the drop to stay impactful. Right now I'm thinking that combo + either annihilators or dragons. You can fit some chariots or vindictors in for objectives too. Looks good.
  14. Exactly. Fluffy and fun. There will be a few games that it all comes together and magic happens, but most stronger builds will ignore or negate these types of traits.
  15. It doesn't seem to be the strongest ability. But vindictors/vanquishers with yndrasta/relictor/arcanum support become this annoying unit that fights, dies, fights again, explodes, then gets reanimated. Definitely fun in theory.
  16. I don't get the doom and gloom, especially this early. While it will of course depend on final rules and synergies, I see a lot of potential with a base of shooting units backed up by 2-3 monster heroes. Especially if the caster vulture can shutdown or mitigate casting heavy armies. With a few tricks to mitigate early damage or control the game flow, the kruleboyz are positioned to be strong in 3.0 (usual disclaimer about points/stats).
  17. The vulture character can also use the mentioned double move spell to move 14 then cast it. 26" range is not bad at all.
  18. Annihilators will also have a weapon option (likely at the cost of the 2+), this will help with their output beyond the mortals. It will be interesting to see if it's replace all or 1-2 per unit.
  19. Final point and edge case for praetors. There are 3 grand strategies dependent on keeping characters alive by the end of the battle (general, wizards, priests). That gives them another role in terms of victory points to consider.
  20. Sequitors at a 3+ are looking good if that change happens. They'll still get to reroll saves in combat, and can get to a 2+ pretty easily.
  21. Yeah, I think raptors vs ballistas ends up being more preference. I think raptors probably are overall better but you almost have to go anvils to get the most out of them. Aetherwings are just solid.
  22. With the GHB point drops, what about something like this? LAoCD Heraldor Incantor Lord Ordinator 3x5 Sequitors 4x Ballistas 6× Dracolines Comet Probably as vindicators, templars (for ballistas on monsters and extra move), or without for staunch. Essentially it's similar to what has been posted before but now you get all 3 "packages" - the dracolines, the ballistas, and a comet.
  23. Thanks for the replies and great feedback! As I expected the shooting list seems better. I like the ballistas, but a block of sequitors just feels right. I'd love to bring a comet but am just finishing up my sequitors now so wouldn't be able to find the points. Thanks again.
  24. I'm building and painting up my stormcasts during the lock down. I have two lists in mind and wanted some thoughts on which direction to head in. List 1: + Leader + Gavriel Sureheart [120pts] Knight-Heraldor [100pts] Lord-Arcanum on Celestial Dracoline [220pts]: General Lord-Castellant [120pts] + Battleline + Liberators [100pts]: 5 Liberators Liberators [100pts]: 5 Liberators Sequitors [440pts]: 4x 5 Sequitors + Other + Evocators [220pts]: 5 Evocators Evocators on Celestial Dracolines [520pts]: 6 Evocators on Celestial Dracolines + Allegiance + Allegiance: Allegiance: Stormcast Eternals + Command Points + Purchased Command Points [50pts]: 1 Command Point ++ Total: [1,990pts] ++ List 2: + Leader + Knight-Heraldor [100pts] Knight-Incantor [140pts] Lord-Arcanum on Celestial Dracoline [220pts]: General Lord-Ordinator [140pts] + Artillery + Celestar Ballista [110pts] Celestar Ballista [110pts] Celestar Ballista [110pts] Celestar Ballista [110pts] + Battleline + Sequitors [130pts]: 5 Sequitors Sequitors [130pts]: 5 Sequitors Sequitors [130pts]: 5 Sequitors + Other + Evocators on Celestial Dracolines [520pts]: 2x 3 Evocators on Celestial Dracolines + Allegiance + Allegiance: Allegiance: Stormcast Eternals + Command Points + Purchased Command Points [50pts]: 1 Command Point ++ Total: [2,000pts] ++ Both lists center around the dracolines, and then it's either a Gav sequitor bomb or 4 ballistas and an ordinator. The dracolines and arcanum are staying, but otherwise I'm open to changes. Which looks the best from a competitive standpoint and which looks more fun to play (can be the same)? Thanks!
