  1. That is a seriously cool army. Great ideas and great execution as well, fantastic!
  2. Nice work on the cape! It pops nicely and provides a nice contrast with the red and gold of the armour. The beard could use a bit more depth I think, a slightly darker shade in the recesses would make it look less flat.
  3. Perhaps you should try the Gloomspite Gitz then. Quite less linear than the Ironjawz and still not taking themselves too seriously. That's why I am transferring my old Battle for Skull Pass goblins to round bases; it's still the same wacky, fungi-infused craziness, finally given the complete army treatment they always deserved IMHO.
  4. Painting random models, I love it!😄 Some nice paint work in there, the Uruk-hai works well, and the corsair looks promising. Once finished that unit will look great! Random question: is there a reason some of these models are on square bases and others on round ones?
  5. Fantastic conversions! Really great work, can't wait to see them painted.
  6. This is a truly unique take on the Idoneth. Fantastic work so far, and given the amount of thought that clearly went into it already, I will be following this topic with great interest. Also, the creature manning the cannon has a great "Pirates of the Carribean" vibe to it, love it!😃
  7. That is a great scenery piece! I really like the way it ties in with the theme of your army, it has a great verdant vibe over it. It makes you feel like you're in the realm of life right away, so great job!
  8. There are some great conversions in this army so far! Excellent use of different kits, and I'm looking forward to seeing what else you come up with!
  9. @Lurynsar I mostly agree with your post, I also expect some things to go in the near future. Removing Greenskins is an understandable move in itself, however I feel the "replacement Orcs" (Bonesplitters and Ironjawz) are somewhat lacking in model and unit variety. Granted they are relatively early AoS releases, and current factions are a bit more fleshed out, but if someone wants to run a full Orc army, there is little choice with the Greenskins gone. I started out WFB as a Bretonnian player, but I cannot see them work in the AoS setting. GW did not, however, have to remove them completely as far as I'm concerned. Some kits would work great in an updated, generic human faction (the Men-at-Arms kit especially is still wonderful). To me, the one thing still lacking from AoS is a decent human faction. There are hints at the humans of the Mortal Realms everywhere in the lore, but I (and I think many others with me) would love to see a set of human kits and a human army for AoS.
  10. Welcome! I hope you enjoy Age of Sigmar, it's a lot of fun! I am much like you, I never really enjoyed 40K enough to get fully invested in it (although I might build a Kill Team at some point). To me AoS felt like a liberation compared to WFB, since it allows a lot more flexibility in army composition and allies. Enjoy your time on this forum!
  11. Hello there! After browsing the forum for a while, I thought I'd finally create an account. Who am I? Dutch, 32, long-time Warhammer Fantasy player who got tired of the ever-growing unit sizes, which are particularly hurtful when you play Orcs&Goblins and have little time to paint. I disliked Age of Sigmar when it first hit, since it looked like a half-hearted attempt at writing a game, but I really like how it developed over the years. I guess the turning point for me were the Kharadron Overlords, which are a very cool concept. So, naturally, I started AoS with a unit of Arkanauts. The army did not develop much further so far, since I was distracted by the arrival of the Gloomspite Gitz. Plastic Squigs! That's all I needed to start rebasing my Night Goblins, which is happening very gradually. Anyway, I look forward to participating on this forum and showing off some of my work in the near future. Cheers!
