  1. I'm honestly not sure what else you were expecting. It'll be one of the toughest battleline units out there...
  2. It's a 4+ save you can re-roll and potentially improve to a 3+ save with the right subgroup rules. That's really solid for a battleline anvil unit.
  3. It doesn't sound like they have something like that. They sound pretty traditional in how they do warfare except that they can get resurrected
  4. Their Battleline is certainly a great anvil, however in an objective based game without fix rank&file formations you need more than just that. Their monster infantry looks good too but I feel like this armys success will stand and fall with how good the cavalry is.
  5. I did a thing. 🤔 http://https://i.imgur.com/wP5A6jy.gifv
  6. I doubt it. GW doesn't really sell many boxes with 20 models, not even for horde armies.
  7. Was just gonna say. The +1 save one sounds really good.
  8. Clarify "this". If it's about the 1s and 6s, then there's only one other option. Tell your opponent which is the 1 and which is 6 before the game begins. Nothing difficult about that.
  9. Not sure why you are this confused. Skulls are usually 1s and faction symbols are usually 6s (with the exception that some dice only have the faction symbol and on those it's often a 1 because GW is derpy but I think they've learned). The hands are just holding up fingers 2-5. That much should be obvious. Also there are some dice that are entirely artistic and supposed to be collected instead of used in actual games like the squig dice or the death guard dice. The Bonereaper dice are kind of a hybrid imo. They are perfectly fine to read, however I don't like that the symbols are carved in instead of printed on.
  10. An all Necropolis Stalker army sounds like something I can get into after putting my hobbyknife to work on them.
  11. A whole 3 people dared to disobey him? Damn what a scary feat to kill 3 people in the hundreds or thousands of years he probably already "lived". 🤣 I'm pretty glad that he's the model that's in the boxset as it's easily my least favourite model of the whole Bonereaper range and since I'm not getting the box I don't have to worry about missing out on him. I honestly still barely believe that they are supposed to be Nagash's most elite guys. 25mm bases and spears just feels wrong. Them being called a legion feels wrong too for an elite faction.
  12. Funnily enough I prefer the way command points get generated and used in AoS and 40k Killteam compared to main 40k. Also bravery/LD/morale/whatever it's named has it's issues in 40k as well. Even if you play an army that can stack a -8 modifier to the LD it's not worth going for such a tactic at all. The last Warhammer I've played where LD mattered was WHFB 7e and there in fact it was pretty much the core mechanic for how to win fights and the movement phase was what decided whether you can win the fight or not. So an entirely different beast than AoS and 40k today. You say you don't like flavourful rules like the slaaneshi combat thing or Nighthaunts ethereal thing, but something like that exists in 40k too. Like the Genestealer Cult deployment shenanigans and daemons having basically the same as Nighthaunts in that they all have a 5+ invulnerable save which completely ignores armour penetration and is only not as much of a problem due them being 90% melee which sucks in 40k and 40k throwing around enough dice to not care about a poor defense like that. AoS being melee focussed may not leave much room for errors, however the other side of the coin is 40k being so shooty that whoever goes second can pick up a bunch of his units before having been able to ever use them in the game which can quickly snowball into a win for whoever went first with the more shooty army. Feels to me like this is mostly a case of "the grass is greener on the other side".
  13. You are apparently way more optimistic about GWs capability than I am. I'd rather have the current status quo than them betting it all on one card and if they ****** up we having to live with it for the next few years. Edit: or any developers capability that is. Videogames don't get regular patchnotes for no reason. Nothing is ever right the first time.
  14. Eh, by taking away the FAQ/Erratas the first release wouldn't magically become better. It wasn't the case before in any of the warhammer systems and it won't be now. All it would do is leave us hanging with potentially broken releases for several years. Quick FAQ/Errata releases are a GOOD thing, not bad. How quick people seem to forget the past...
  15. I just hope that whenever Seraphon get their new tome it'll also include new battleline models.
  16. Available models in the webstore are one of the most unreliable sources to predict future releases. Many models become unavailable for some time before coming back with seemingly no change and for no reason all the time.
  17. You also need only about 1/3rd of the models compared to WHFB 8e. The "and" is what's important. Just complaining about it doesn't help at all if you still buy it.
  18. I honestly wasn't referring anything specific. It was just an example how to justify the harbingers of war idea. In case of the construct birds it could still work, just in a less natural way as in the Bonereapers sending out those birst to clean the bones in preparation of their arrival.
  19. GW products become regularly more expensive and that will continue as long as people are willing to buy their products. Not sure why people are surprised by it every time. Vote with your wallet and if you aren't in the minority GW will listen.
  20. They could still be harbingers of war just in a more natural way. Like they follow the Bonereapers around since they are a source of easy food, so whenever the Bonereapers approach a city they fly ahead in their greed to get their fill.
  21. Wow they look so much better than I was expecting.
  22. Even without that you should know it. It was a huge event that affects every realm and every faction after all.
  23. To be fair the Idoneth Deepkin dice really are horrible to read. They are transparent and use a bunch of parallel wriggly lines. It's like the Blood Angels Dice are really easy to read from a distance but the Space Wolves dice aren't. Just because both have a custom look doesn't mean they are equally hard to read.
  24. It worries me how long you think it takes to count fingers. Personally it doesn't take me longer than counting dots. 🤨
