  1. Darn was really hoping for a change to our battleline. Still can’t complain I guess, I figured priests would go up in price so then staying the same is nice.
  2. I don’t think that one exists anymore. It was the +1 damage for weapons on demon general right? If so that didn’t make the cut to new book.
  3. As much as I’d hate to do it with my 100 painted ones, I feel like one of the best ways to “fix” reavers would be to rebase them to 25s, effectively doubling the number that can swing in a fight. Otherwise they are too reliant on other buffs to be any good. In perfect circumstances I think reavers are terrifying, I’ve had 40 man squads whipped/warshrined/killing frenzied with +3 or 4 attacks absolutely decimate big enemy units but it’s nearly impossible to get them to that point now with the “wholly within” changes to most buffs. i don’t expect even a point cost reduction will meaningfully change their usage as their issue isn’t their price, it’s how unwieldy they are. Other horde units either buff themselves as they get larger, are plainly more self reliant, or can bring their numbers to bear with smaller base sizes. Even the dark feast attack bonus is much harder to apply now. I have 2x40 and 2x10 reavers units and love them; they have been my favorite Khorne unit for the last couple years but they just don’t do what they used to. If I run any now I use them defensively to wrap my backfield units up and catch charges, at least that way staying close to most of our buff providers they can do some surprise work if they don’t get gutted on the charge completely as 10man units tend to. Being a fan of hordes I’m experimenting with 30 blood warrior and bloodletter squads now, it’s promising but boy are they pricey compared to the old reavers
  4. I believe when I ran this I had bloodsecrator (thronebreakers torc), skullgrinder (hew the foe, gorecleaver), 2 slaighterpriests and a Bloodstoker as leaders. 30x Warriors, 2x10 reavers, chaos warshrine, 2x5 wrathmongers, 1 skull cannon, bloodforged batallion and all 3 judgements. I would probably drop the cannon now (played this last pre-faq) and see what else can shift for maybe a thirster, but I really want to try a slaughterborn variant as I think the reapers will do more work and I didn’t care for the bloodforged bonus ability it was hard to pull off after people realized how dangerous the skullgrinder is.
  5. I have used the 30 brick as part of bloodforged in a couple of games so far and it has been a game winner. I’m excited to try it in slaughterborn but I haven’t yet been able to build a list there I love yet. How I used it was to whip the unit up as well as warshrine bless it and bronzed flesh/brazen fury/killing frenzy all turn 1 and goretide fire then up the board to multicharge as much as they can. They have enough bite to do some damage with the 3 glaives and full rerolls to hurt something but most importantly they can tie up a sizable portion of the enemy army for a few turns while the rest of the army moves into position for objectives or whatever else. if the unit does die it’s usually not for a full 3 turns at least with how durable they are and they by then I can usually get by buffs back in range for one last hurrah with the glaives.
  6. I actually run this exact setup most of my games and for 80 points it’s huge fun. Sometimes he gets blasted off the table turn 1, but if he doesn’t he’s almost guaranteed to mulch something into utter paste. I’ve had him put out 20 wounds one one fight before (5 attacks with banner and wrathmongers, lucked out with 2 6s). I like running him as a sort of insurance policy. If my enemy shoots him they aren’t shooting the real buffer units in my army, that’s a win, and I get a blood tithe out of it for his 80 points. If they don’t take the bait, he can punish.
  7. No worries! And I left my book at home and am out for the day so maybe someone can verify but it was either +1 to hit rolls when in range of the batallions blood throne or reroll hits, I forgot which but definitely wasn’t exciting since you can get to a rerolling 2+ with a killing frenzy and demon locus anyway.
  8. I think you ought to recheck the gorethunder cohort - it no longer does what you think it does anymore. If it did still let you shoot twice I’d still be buying the extra 2 cannons I had planned.
