  1. Hammers is very hard to pass up. 12” range covers most of the board, and even if it doesn’t it you want to be on/near objectives most of the time anyway. It also couples very nicely with high saves (*cough* vindictors, dragons) and in stormkeeps, where your redeemers are tanky and x3 scoring.   3. Don’t hate the player. I’d happily use other units if, you know, GW hadn’t just made most of them complete garbage, left some of them playable, then put one unit in that is head and shoulders better than the rest.

  7. They are extremely aggressively priced. Fly, move 12”, move in the hero phase and charge in the hero phase makes them super mobile MW shooting and can also shoot in the hero phase with a Knight draconis Monsters so count as 5 each for scoring, get rampages, and easy access to a ton of free VPs via battle tactics Lots of rend 2 damage 2 attacks which is great into save stacking super durable at 9 wounds and 3+. They can also hilariously get cover saves. They also ignore spells on a 4+ for… reasons. Theres just so much going on in this warscroll that I look at every multiple of 300 points now and think “this should be a stormdrake unit”

For the same reason that Gav bombs struggled: screening and tooth and nail.* I don’t see more tools to remove screens and you want tooth and nail in the battleplan because kruleboyz are going to be pushing your stuff into reserve. *except there’s one more reason now as dragon knights exist and they are incredible
  14. I’m still digesting this but… I see no reason not to go all in on knights draconis and stormdrake guard. These things are bonkers. Everything else is just… oof. Theres a gardus redeemers list, until someone kills gardus and it falls apart. Theres a double shot list that has one to at winning the game, then falls apart. Theres an annihilator Imperatant list that functions the same as gav bombs. Almost everything oldcast and sacrosanct got shafted. Heroes especially almost all lost something, got worse, or went up in price. Lord exorcist at 175. What is this madness.

Leaky Santa has visited in the night and you’re all on the good list 5 attacks 3+/2+/-3/2 4 attacks 3+/3+/-2/2 fire breath missile. 12" 3-4 d3 mortal wounds, 5-6 d6 mortal wounds 11 wounds, 3+ save. 255 points once per battle, pick a stormdrake guard unit, it can breathe fire in the hero phase at the end of the combat phase pick an enemy unit within 1". roll higher than its wounds, model is slain instantly. ignores spells on a 4+ makes stormdrake guard battleline

  18. Hot takes! chariot is garbage. No run/retreat and charge, pillow fisted attacks, bow is irrelevant, 12 wounds will jack the price up to 200+ Points dependant the judicator is sound. Rend 3 for ruining save stacking models, damage 3 to bully lone heroes, 2+ to wound, hit can be boosted to 2+, a once per game nuke (shame it’s instead of shooting) and comes with a free gryph hound unit for objective/screening/denying unleash hell.
  19. Because people are writing lists to maximise those big hero pieces that best take advantage of save stacking.
  20. Liberators are the worst unit to benefit from this. Vindictors, Sequitors and probably Vanquishers all have much better damage attacks.
  21. I’ve heard rumour that there may be something to show off at the next big US event. Not sure what one that is but think there’s one in a few weeks?
