  1. Wow this was a really productive day in this thread. There was so much good stuff to read by the time i got home and could relax. @ledha thanks for the report, look forward to more! Thanks for that insight @Chocolate Obturator i have yet to take a close look at a Skullfiend list but between you and @Kaz discussion im gonna have to give this more consideration. Also i have been thinking about getting Archaon. I will definitely at some point, maybe soon, but there always seems to be something more pressing to purchase. Thanks @Sleboda please keep us updated if you use him again. Slaanesh can be defeated, you can play around their diversion and debuffs. Daemonettes are glass, strap on your gorefist. Nuke their heroes with priest. There is no telling what goodies there could be for Khorne not only in new StD but possibly Warcry, its silly to count your eggs before they hatch. Blood for the blood God, skulls for the skull throne.
  2. Lol, this is great. Don't forget Khorne despises fear tho. His blood would be seething and his rage would erupt if he seen his followers so scared of the Slaaneshi, of all!
  3. No point getting upset about Slaanesh. We havnt even seen the point changes yet. Everyone complained when they seen Skaven battletome and now its considered tier 1 ( which by the way Khorne is a counter to). This could just as well be the reverse, looks good in preview and gut wrenching in reality. Besides these two armies getting their updates back to back before GHB 19 hits is good - gives them a window to balance them. I'm sure GHB 19 is gonna shake things up.
  4. Khorne is tricky. They do need buffs... But they also have access to more than most. They are kinda lack luster in slug fest but prayers and Judgments should not be under estimated. Khorne requires some serious strategizing on the pilots part, which all seems counter intuitive of their lore. In a way its also be a more rewarding faction to win with for same reasons tho. Edit: just to add to that. Some people don't care as much about winning as making a fun/interesting story/experience. I always seen Khorne as the punching bags. They are like the random dudes who show up in a scene of action movie to get swiftly kicked in the face and knocked unconscious. But then there is like a few good fights where the leader of the gang shows up and gives the main character a run for his money. He seems interesting but you probably learn very lil about them but you could probably make a whole movie around just that dude.
  5. Yeah this going to be something smart opponent will do their best to play around and you will be trying to reposition yourself to catch them when they thought it was safe. Like a game of cat and mouse.
  6. @Unit1126PLL that could definitely be what the terrain piece or endless spells do.
  7. I wonder why they went with keyword "Chaos Slaanesh" what could possibly be Slaanesh but not Chaos?
  8. Man this looks so good. I'm gonna hold out and see how this all unfolds but i can already hear Slaanesh calling my name.
  9. Yeah good point... Havn't really considered that scince new tome. I could get behind this idea cuz i really like the idea of not having to devote a unit or points towards something im going to sacrifice. I'm cautious tho because it does make Priest more vulnerable while at lower health and the Resanguination could probably be put to better use or another prayer entirely. I'm gonna give this a try tho at some point. I can't speak highly enuff of the Warshrine's Favor of Khorne prayer. First off you only need a 3+ meaning you don't have to rely on altar as much. It doesn't hurt you on a roll of 1. And in combination with Blood Stoker's reroll all failed wounds it turns ordinary units into powerhouses. Its excellent on Reapers who are fighting a behemoth, Blood Warriors whether they are holding off a mob of attackers or long bomb charging, and i would imagine Skull Crushers. Also the shrine its self is just great for a number of reasons, just don't expect it to punch much to death.
  10. Yeah your right. That art with the mortal followers is a real tease and imho in bad faith if they don't follow thru. I'm just gonna let it rest for now and see what happens.
  11. For me mortals could take the place of Daemonettes as im not a huge fan of the sculpts and if you do the math they are under costed and probably due for a point hike. Having a cheap mortal chaff unit to take their place would be nice. The other option, Hell Striders, are just outdated and kinda apparently so next to newer stuff. If we get new Hell Striders thats almost as good as getting a mortal chaff unit to me. I guess the issue is that there is already multiple armies vying for my hard earned $$$ and maybe im just being picky but would really like to see more out of this release, and to be honest i expected more due to how long its been needed and the hype leading up to it. I guess i only have myself to blame for that.
  12. @Kaz Hmm thats interesting. I like the Blood Sacrifice + Resanguination combo... Never considered it because killing your own stuff with Sacrifice generates even more Blood Tithe but i could see how this could be good because instead of devoting units to Sacrifice your devoting 2x Prayers. I prefer Bronzed Flesh over all of them to help keep my behemoths in the fight and basically any other unit hammer or anvil can benifit from it meaning there is never a bad target in range. I use Blood Sacrifice probably more than Killing Frenzy because the Blood Tithe table is just so good. Especially when i know i wont get many BT throughout the match. But im usually looking to pull off Murderlust or Apocalyptic Frenzy as many times as possible and i have a tendency to go overboard and waste Blood Tithe when im using Sacrifice. I really like Resanguination on the Warshrine it can turn him into a tarpit for far longer than it should and if there is any Korgoraths or monsters nearby even better. I run a lot of list with 3 Priest (usually 2 Slaughter and 1 Warshrine) so Killing Frenzy usually makes it in there but its one of those things i don't count on... If i get it off then good but if not oh well doesnt change my plans.
  13. This is super dissapointing to me. I really want to get into Slaanesh and the lack of mortals or alternative battleline is keeping me at bay. They mentioned Warcry but really? This seems dubious as like how many options are there gonna be? Will it be like Underworlds where the units are unique and can only be a max of 1? From what i see on other Darkoath warscrolls currently out their not able to take marks and therefore fall under allies unless in StD army so they seem out of this picture as well. I hope this is a gag to "suprise" everyone with some big reveal...
  14. Im glad someone did math on this. I felt Stoker is just the better of the 2 buffs but there is a lot to unpack here. First the range difference. Stoker is buffing 10 man squads at best and only if you play him smart. Priest buff range is better but relies on a dice roll... Not dependable. Priest has an extra wound, maybe is better in combat? Realisticly you're not trying to get in a fist fight with either these guys but thats where Stokers whip range comes in as he can hide behind other units and pretend to do damage. So really is Blood Boil worth 20 extra points? Imho yes without doubt, however, there is tactics (long bomb charges/murder blobs) you just need the Stoker for. So objectively Priest is better but Stoker adds something unique that nobody else really does, or as well. Its often i can find room to squeeze a Stoker in but Priest would force me to make a hard choice. With all that said i fear any GHB 19 point increases, unless across the board things go down.
  15. If its their turn they get to decide any ties. The only things their allowed to do are the things at "start of phase" you would then get to do whatever it is your gonna do as soon thier done then they carry on with other actions until phase is over.
  16. The player who's turn it in goes first when there is a tie "at start of phase."
  17. @jazman84 this list makes me wish i had more daemons. I think there is several completely optional "improvements" you could do. Not sure how much you really need thermal rider cloak. Its not bad choice but the Secrator can move now and his bubble is still decent. I could see taking this with the large base size of Archaon and BT and wholly within clause but idk if its necessary. I would be using the Secrator to buff up all the hounds not the behemoths, pretty sure just more bang for the buck. But giving Archaon an extra attack with slayer of kings and doghar is very tempting. The question is do you really need cloak if not than Banner of Wrath all day. Second, i dont think Blood Sacrifice is a good choice for your only Priest. Bronzed Flesh is gonna make Archaon nigh unstoppable. Sanguination is perhaps better choice too keeping his wounds up so he fights at top chart longer. Also the Reavers, which i assume you plan to sacrifice are just a straight tax. If you drop them then you have 80 points to spend on Stoker and reroll all Archaon's wounds. He is going to be crushing so hard you don't need tithe from sacrifice. Blood Hunt seems kinda meh. At best it gives you a 5 drop list, an extra artifact (which you may not need), and a command point. If you really feel like you must choose priority round 1 (i would prefer to go 2nd) and need that artifact than ok. Otherwise drop it and get 2nd Priest. Also you will have enuff points left over to take Wrath Axe instead of Skulls. I think do what you feel comfortable with but you do have options.
  18. @KhorneySteve yeah i like to bring warshrine + either Slaughterbrute or Mani-Lord. I have a list with all 3 i havnt tried yet. The brute is actually imho pointed correctly and on par with 5 Reapers. But he looks far more dangerous so often i will place him out front as a decoy to keep my Reapers alive and alternatively I'll put the Warshrine in front of Priest. It usually does the trick and draws the fire away from squishier stuff. All this talk of Archaon has really got me thinking now. He would be insane in a Reapers of Vengeance fight twice list. I'm thinking along side a Thirster or 2. But could also be a ton of fun in mortal list. His large base and flying, along side the fact he can just remove stuff in his way, means he could get some mileage out of Skullfiend CA.
  19. This has been crucial to me. Having a big scarey unit that your opponent over commits to killing has helped me a lot. I usually just resign one of my monsters to be a sacrificial pawn while i move in for the kill with everything else. I like to double down on hammers knowing that my opponent will most likely try to shoot them down turn one.
  20. This seems most likely of all. Another option is have something similar to Stormcast chamber for each God and then maybe a generic StD one or two. I can't imagine NOT having a way to some how align your Darkoath to a particular God.
  21. Yeah i see a point hike coming. I wouldn't get too down about it tho. Khorne kinda got nerfed last book but also improved. Its wierd but the power was kinda spread around more except Reavers got the shaft and Priest became powerhouses. But overall its more balanced and units like Blood Warriors just improved. The big difference was the terrain piece, Judgments, and the Slaughter Host you can pick from now. Slaanesh is going to get a terrain piece, endless spells, and their own host rules. So while initially it may seem like a nerf these things will more than likely balance it out. Also its still possible to see a cheap mortal chaff unit... Guess we gotta wait for Warhammer Fest to find out more.
  22. Yeah maybe 1 turn like IDK or extended pile in range. Im thinking it will be almost similar to Khorne's "Leave None Alive". At start of combat phase pick 1 unit from this warhost wholly within friendly hero that unit can fight first.
  23. That sounds insanely powerful. I know there is something similar in 40k but this would be game breaking in AoS. A army wide strike first is better than getting to choose the turn priority every round. Your gonna basically be able to do so much damage across your enemies army that there's nothing left to strike back or hold an objective.
  24. Tyrants of Blood is probably the most likely to win a tournament. Will it be a Reapers of Vengeance or Bloodlords host is my question. Both Halo of Blood and Leave None Alive are incredibly powerful if used wisely.
  25. Yeah i was considering that. I think a Witch Aelves + Daemonettes would work good but man its costly.
