  1. Oh bat riders are that much? Yeah idk something seems off. In a mortal army im taking BTIR for flying over Skarbrand because i want to get in back lines and get those support units out the way asap.
  2. DoK are still everyone's boogy man and FEC needs a point change on big bat riders. I think the trick to beat either is the same things that work against other opponents, forgo summoning, use either Apocalyptic Frenzy or the after you die Blood Tithe boons. I have a match up with DoK this week so ill report back with how that goes.
  3. If you check out the South Cpast Gt stats on AoS Shorts. Had the Khorne player only achieved 1 more Hidden Agenda he would have moved up two places to secure 4th with no ties.
  4. Fyreslayers is really not as bad of a match- up as ppl seem to think. They move 4 inches! Just chaff them and they will spend the entire game tied up in fights they don't want to be in while you sit on objectives.
  5. I was toying around with the idea of running 2 Blood Stokers when tome came out. I'm still trying to squeez 2 into a list but havn't been able to yet. I find that im much more in favor of taking another Priest in his place or battalion requirement hero. But i am still in favor of at least trying it. I really need to get more games in just busy lately.
  6. I think Secrator is still great. Now that he can move its a much better situation. Granted no more battleshock immunity but really mostly running MSU and if need be have CP for that. I agree points should come down a tad on mortals but still viable and im doing good locally with them. The dragon is so kick ass. I have always felt that way. The sheer wounds and bodies you can field is the key. Im always playing to objectives or at the very least preventing my opponent from doing so. Its a fast tarpit into slow grind where im moving fresh units in after first wave looking to land a killing blow with well timed boons from tithe table.
  7. @Riavan that was my original concern too. Back when we started discussing the topic i basically say that for Darkoath to be a good faction with interesting play style it would have to be self contained and im using the lack of any Mark of Chaos rule on any current Darkoath warscroll to point out that this may in fact be what they are planning to do. This make the rules writing a lot easier to balance as you dont have to worry about unintended combos. However, the StD units that currently exist and can take marks will probably continue to do so. I think the ability to take a mark will either be directly on the units warscroll (like generic StD) or possibly there will be God-specific battalions for Darkoath like we see in Beast of Chaos. Both can be true at same time. This would make balancing a lot more predictable over the multiple factions for Darkoath while the generic StD units will stay exactly that, generic, so that they can't be overly swingy if given a mark. This is all just hypothetical guessing on my part. Only time will tell.
  8. Im not saying that the StD will change. I was talking largely about Darkoath. StD will keep mark of chaos but will probably also gain access to some type of Host if you want to run them as StD not a specific god.
  9. @Glaidos 750 is tight for list building but I'll throw something out there. Altar 2x Slaughter Priest (blood boild & blessings bronzed flesh and killing frenzy) 200 Karanak (because the extra 5 hound he can summon gets better in a lower point games) 140 10x Blood Warriors (gore fist and buffs from priest they are gonna be able to hold an objective and protect your Priest) 200 5x Wrathmongers (in lower point game with few units to buff they are better than Secrator for their damage output but alternative is a Secrator with Banner of Wrath) 140 10× Blood Reavers (i assume you need 2 battleline per rules and they bring you to exactly 750 plus they can steal objectives not being defended) If you want to focus on summoning drop a blessing for Blood Sacrifice and use it on Reavers. Dump all buffs on the Warriors and use Karanak and Priest to snipe the opponents support heroes. You can just hold your ground and chew them down then take over board with summons.
  10. @MOMUS almost all my list are 100% mortals not because i need to win every game but i do need to have fun. The deamon side of things is just not that interesting to me. I got like 500 points of deamon stuff for summoning and i rarely even do that. So yes where do mortals stand without relying on Thirsters? Idk but it feels like a much better place than pre-tome. I agree about big smashy solo characters. I got stuff like Warshrine, and Slaughterbrute, their big and fun but not game changing. I dislike stuff like Nagash or Stardrake as it makes the match all about them and how well that character performs. This is main reason i dont currently have Archaon.
  11. Yeah Ben is obviously a great player who understands how to win games. This is the type of list i expected to rise to top of Khorne meta. The last list using Gore Pilgrims was suprising but a good thing as it shows we are viable in a number of ways. This is kinda what i always wanted from a battletome, a number of different builds/strategys that can each be competitive in their own way. At the end of the day this Vengence/Tyrants/Hunts type build is going to rise to the top.
  12. Ok, i dunno why they didn't just leave it on warscrolls. Thanks for clearing that up tho.
  13. Oh.. Good call. I guess that also changed. It used to say it on old warscrolls. Yeah on his own Riptooth is cheap Tithe then. I'm wondering if there is some blood tithe list where we can get to 6 - 8 tithe by end of second turn with dependability. Edit: back when Gryph Hounds where 40 a piece they where most annoying objective grabbers.
  14. If you take Magore's then you also have tp take Riptooth. Can't have one without the other as per warscrolls. Otherwise ya that would make for more interesting choice. I really wish the battalion warscrolls had Blood Warriors in bold letters especially Blood Mad, oh well.
  15. Magore's Fiends and Riptooth where in almost all my list pre-battle tome for all the reasoned mentioned. I havnt used them since tome for a couple reasons. Now Slaughter Priest all have unbind and usually thats as many as i need. This is an important point tho because Riptooth used to get a +2 to his unbind (which he doesn't now) if he was standing next to daemon hero which is very easy to do if you summoned a Bloodmaster for 2 Tithe, which ment you didn't need to waste a slot on a hero just to babysit Riptooth. The other change was that Magore's no longer counts towards battalions which to me is a big one too; as they are much better than 5 Warriors and if you just need minimum requirement they where best choice. They benifit from Goretide command ability now which is sweet. They are still good, i just end up using those points for Judgments now tho. The lack of battalion option is the main reason.
  16. This was answered in last FAQ. If your general is a named character he does not get a Host command trait. The artifact on the other hand can be given to any non-named hero in your army. Does Archaon have to be the general for some reason?
  17. Oh, that is sad. Yeah recently they have made some pretty bold warscroll changes. If StD/Everchosen do get an update any time soon i would expect to see him get tweaked.
  18. Maybe in Bloodlords if you have multiple hero deamons you can get a bunch of heals off across them. Edit: it will be interesting to see what changes to Archaon's warscroll there will be with StD update. I bet his command ability gets reworded or just change completely.
  19. @MOMUS agree with everything you said. It was pretty obvious to me that Vengeance host with the 2 Thirsters was the main point of that whole list. Gore Pilgrims like you said does give you access bto cheap artifact but i guess what im trying to say about Gore Pilgrims is that - its good largely because you get a whole cast of characters who perform well with or without a battalion and you get battle line requirements so it just doesnt feel like tax. I try to point out that yes Reavers are chaff (not really for blood sacrifice) Chaff is good. Blood Warriors make even better chaff. And yeah that makes sense that EU still prefer WHFB so we're not hearing as much from there.
  20. There was 2x10 Reavers. You require 3 battleline Gore Pilgrims is 1 - 2 units of Reavers. I mean it makes sense why they are there in list. Im sure he did sacrifice them either with his Priest or just as likely road blocks to stop advancing hammers for a turn while you nuke them with blood boil or Thirsters. But of all the battalions Gore Pilgrims is kinda most generic lack luster one now. Funny thing it that all the stuff in it, besides, Reavers are actually good on their own now. Although Loathsome Sorcery is good and extended Rage range is nice, Gore Pilgrims best strength is it gives you 3 Priest, the Secrator, and your battleline in 1 drop, thats it. Everything that put in work (Thirsters, Priest, Reapers) are gonna do well with or without any bonus from Gore Pilgrims.
  21. Thanks @Warbossironteef that was the army that took 2nd place i was talking about. I was looking for this list. Im kinda suprised, not cuz of Thirster + Skull Reapers or that its mostly mortal with Reapers of Vengeance host but the Blood Warriors and Reavers. I did not see that coming. I mean most of us here have agreed for awhile Blood Warriors are actually good now but still surprising to see them now making it into top armies. But Reavers? Ok they are cheap, and they are bodies you can throw at the stuff you dont really want to fight, and i guess x10 of them do some amount of damage? I guess just any 70 point thing that fulfils a requirement is good enuff some times. Interesting thing about a mostly mortal army with a deamonic war host is all the things you summon get benifit from the host. Edit: Warriors and Reavers make sense if your running Gore Pilgrims, i guess thats what suprises me. But it is still a great way to fit your whole supporting cast into a single drop.
  22. Thats interesting now that you mention it, you're right. I never hear anything about France. I hear UK, USA, Australia, Sweeden, and just recently Canada. I see they make battletomes in French tho so their must be a market there and players. I think AoS is really just picking up now. All pre 2.0 feels like beta. I have to say i think GW did an excellent job promoting 2.0 and it was very well recieved, most people liked the new direction of game and rule changes. I seen a number of 40k players make the switch to AoS scince Soul Wars. I dont usually watch StormCast but the last episode had GWs head of Sigmar team on it and its cool to see AoS has a team devoted just to AoS type productions now instead of it just being some side gig guys work on once in awhile. He focused on how they are building the game to last for decades to come which was reassuring and it very much looks to me like 2.0 tomes are a good foundation for that.
  23. Its cool to see so many different list. Even all 4 of the Host are represented and seem like solid armies. If nothing else, not being pigeonholed in Gore Pilgrims or deathstar Bloodletters, is a lot of fun. The fact the new book presents so many options its possible to keep switching up your meta and still play competitively. The tournoment @ledha placed 3 seems legit. Lov posted his stats the other day on honest wargamer and Khorne came in 2nd at an event in Sweeden i think. Here is updated stats https://thehonestwargamer.com/april-23rd-stats/ there was sever "big" competitive events around the world since new tome. Im not sure how they choose what events qualify to be added to stats but its only tournoment style ones.
  24. You can use Apocalyptic Frenzy to kill to kill Slaanesh hero before the combat phase even begins. Also Murderlust and the everyone fights after they die allow Khorne to play some nasty tricks themselves. Just have to think about that part of blood tithe table more often during game. Don't forget the Judgments are nit just damage dealets. Depending on how you move and position them (which your opponent can do anything about) you can use them to really mess with opponent's charges and pile ins. This alone can go a long way neutralizing threats.
