  1. What was the FAQ? Did it have something to do with stormhosts being painted correctly or something? My army is painted as Anvils and I don't want to have any problems if I decide to run them as a different stormhost
  2. Gotcha that makes sense. How about the order of pulling models as they die? I'm assuming I should pull 1 of the 6 glaives first to maintain the+1 to save ability, but after that what should I do? Should I alternate pulling starting with maces then glaives? Is the MW output or +1 to save more vital? Or is it more of a situational thing
  3. Ordered some Paladins for a list I am building. Gonna build them as Protectors and run them as a block of 10. I was wondering if the starsoul maces are worth it or if I should just build all 10 with the glaives? At a glance it appears the consistency from all glaives is desirable, but does Unleash Thy Hatred giving +1 attacks push the Starsoul maces back into "worth it" territory? Or are they already worth it and I am reading into it wrong?
  4. Oh damn you're right, for some reason I thought retreating and running were normal moves. Well RIP that strategy. I'll shoot off an email to them as well!
  5. Anyone heard any rumblings regarding the possible misprint of not listing Tauralons as a legal unit to take a mount trait? I actually think not having access to the Celestial Instincts retreat and charge mount trait really hurts the Comet Trail ability. As of right now getting into combat is less than ideal as it will only then trigger when retreating out of combat. Without the ability to re-charge, you're basically stuck with deciding whether to give the +1 to hit or having the Tauralon fight.
  6. I know there was a paragraph in the 2.0 core book that confirmed aura abilities do apply to the source, as long as the wording didn’t say “other friendly units.” Haven’t looked for it in the 3.0 core book but I bet it’s there.
  7. Was Lynus Ghalmorian the only named character to get squatted in the new tome? I expect no one gives a ****** since he wasn't great, despite him being one of the few non-Hammers of Sigmar named characters. Was there some ruling on warscrolls originating from white dwarf magazine? Obviously his scroll is utterly out of sync with the new ones so I'm just curious if theres any indication he could be re-added in the future. RIP we hardly knew you.
  8. Wait can the Tauralon take Mount traits?? I read somewhere that the Tauralon isn’t listed under the Mount trait creatures entry. I haven’t gotten any definitive answer yet
  9. - 12 wounds now - pyroelectric blast (cast value 7) now is a blast-type spell instead of drawn-line (everything within 3” of a chosen point (9” range) takes d3 mortals (no roll, they just take it) - His staff is now rend -2 - comet trail ability: if Aventis makes normal move it gives +1 to hit for all hammers of sigmar and hammerhal units within 3” (I believe it counts himself since it just says “friendly” units not “other friendly” units. If this interpretation is correct he has a lot of high accuracy attacks now. - thunderhead crown now heals D3 wounds per turn instead of just 1 generic tauralon is similar - also 12 wounds now - no healing ability - is no longer a double caster, only 1 cast and 1 unbind - comet trail ability is same but for all Stormcast and cities of sigmar instead of HOS and Hammerhal - Lightning orb spell: similar to pyroelectric but 12” range, pick a point everything within 3”, roll a dice, on a 4+ they take D3 mortals - they both still have cycle of the storm
  10. Aventis Firestrike is a beast now. He might actually be worth his points finally.
  11. Okay, the hype is back in full swing after a week or two of a slow dissipation. Anyone heard anything regarding the Lord Arcanum on Tauralon?
  12. Hate to sound like a downer, but the hype is wearing down for me. I'm still interested in making a Kruleboyz army but it's shifted down a gear.
  13. Anyone have any thoughts on Freeguild Guard with the new coherency rules? It certainly made me take a hard look at spears with their 2" reach, especially in units of 20+ In addition, due to the limitations on +/- to hit, are sword/shields as much of an auto-take as before? Are the additional potential attacks from 2" spears (in units of 20 or 30), along with the +1 to wound when charged ability enough to make them viable? Or does it really just depend on the situation? I was thinking in terms of a more defensive plan, spears could shine as they could amass more attacks while gaining +1 to hit from AOA, Hurricanum, etc, while getting +1 to wound by getting charged. While attaning a 4+ save from all out defense when needed, whereas the sword/shields always have it but can't go to 3+ due to the wording of their ability (If I understand it correctly). As MSU's I am guessing swords are still better, so my question is more specific to reinforced units (20/30) Any feedback would be fantastic!
  14. I wonder if Aventis Firestrike is going to get any kind of Ward, or if his main option will still be the Steel Pinions (6+ Ward) mount trait. As a Monster/Hero/Wizard double caster/denier, he seems like a really good bet for stormcast in 3.0
  15. I'm pretty sure they can but a lot of objectives, if contested, favor the unit with more models nearby. I do see the merit in it being sort of a fast objective grabber that happens to have a cannon.
  16. Is there any consensus on the Gunhauler now that it's at 130? Is it still too much for basically being a mobile cannon? Is it better to put that 130 into say some skywarden, thunderers or endrinriggers? Say in a list that already has a 40/10/10 of arkanauts. Also, the frigate at 200 feels pretty solid. Anyone have any thoughts?
  17. Starting Stormcast and need some feedback on a prospective list. Aventis Firestrike (General) (360 pts) Lord Castellant (100 pts) 5 x Judicators (160 pts) 3x Castigators (80 pts) Cleansing Phalanx (120 pts) 10 x Evocators: Sword and Stave (400 pts) 3 x Evocators on Dracolines (300 pts) 10 x Sequitors: Swords, 4 Greatmaces + Redemption Cache (240 pts) 10 x Sequitors: Swords, 4 Greatmaces + Redemption Cache (240 pts) 2000 Points It definitely seems like a pretty meaty list although no Staunch defender since Aventis is named. 5 Judicators and 3 castigators surely isn't enough ranged. Aventis having 2 casts and 2 denies is pretty nice, but couldn't find the points for an Incantor. I was considering downgrading the Kitty-Cators to 5 regular Evocators and with the spare 100 points, cut the castigators and add in 5 more judicators? I'm afraid I will lose too much mobility since they are the only truly mobile unit besides Aventis. What do you guys think? Maybe cut the batallion since sequitors are strong enough on their own? I guess I should say I'm pretty set on running 20 Sequitors and Aventis. Everything else is flexible.
