  1. Hi, welcome to the Slavs! Slaves! Do yo already know about the Alligiences? It might be something you want to know before starting an army, especially when you concider mixing in some Beasts of Chaos like Bulls. Also there is a new Battletome coming soontm. In general, StD are a quite defensive army. Chaos Warriors are great at tanking damage, especially with shields. They can be used as a nice anvil. Meanwhile our heroes are the ones with the great offensive potential. A Lord of Chaos has two weapons which one has a nice magical skill to make 2D6 Damage once a game. A Lord on Manticore can also wreck nice havoc. Also Deamonprinces are pretty mean things which have access to some nice god-depending abilities. This fits quite well to our Alligience which rewards you heroes for killing things in meele. Beside of this core, we also have some nice buffs from the Shrine and the Sorcerer Lord. The latter one goes especially well with our Chaos Knights as it makes them tankier and also hit more reliable. You can use Knights either as a tarpit, especially good with swords, or a hammer unit to charge enemies down with their glaives and to wreck some serious havoc. A Lord on Daemonic Mount is a great substitute to them as it gives them a better chance for a charge and also improves their hit rolls. You can use some Gorebeast-Chariots for this tactic too, there is also a battatlion for this if I remember correctly. Meanwhile the Pony-Powered Chariots are great units to go for objectives on the board! They are cheap, fast and have also enough defensive potential to survive some shooting Althrough StD aren´t a top tier class right now, they still make a lot of fun.
  2. The undead Pirate Faction from Total War Warhammer 2 got a lot of positive feedback and I could imagine GW is aware of this. Therefore I guess it is at least something the designers might concider one day, althrough I don´t know how soon. The quoted piece you pasted really looks like a hint, especially as WarCom Articles really like to do so in exactly this way: Drop a bit of Lore-Rumours for a time before teasing anything. I would yet be carefull if it is related to a GA Death Faction. Could be also a Stand Alone Kit like the Bugthing for 40k/Blackstone, a completely new faction for one of the other GA´s, an endless Spell, Vol II of Forbidden Power etc.
  3. Please don´t forgett to mention the unwritten rule, that Khorne himself inflicts D6 Mortal wounds to each player who does this😉
  4. Well, the paints are great. Althrough I don´t know at what project to apply them, one will come for sure. Despite of having a new tool to utilize while painting, I also really really like the tough about seeing more painted armies at out LGS. Also beginner may feel much faster driven in as the bareer for painting models up got much smaller now. I mean this is such a great way to get rid of grey models fast. I wish I had this at hand some month´s ago. I´d could imagine using this just to delete my backlog faster
  5. Althrough it´s a pitty that we don´t know the next BT, I think that this is not a bad thing. Time goes by so fast that the next announcement will come like in 2 weeks anyway. It still feels like just a week ago that we´ve heard first time about Fyreslayers, and now we have them on boards and even the new Sylvaneth Box released. Yeah, I would´ve loved to hear about the new Darkoath Book, but yet we´ve seen so much cool stuff today. The new paints are a great addition that will hopefully reduce the grey-plastic-issue a lot of us have. This will benefit the community in general. The 40k releases were great, too. Althrough I feel a little pinch of envy as the new Chaos Knights have way cooler legs than the loyal ones. Obligatory Primaris Release seems also like a great way to overcompensate certain things by adding a new gun to them. I really like the design of the Serpent Ghyran Chaos Warriors for Warcry. Althrough I am still confused about how this will work with the new Darkoath/Slaves-Tome, I am relieft that there is finally a subgroup of them which I don´t dislike from their design. I mean, that two-snake-dude is awesome!
  6. About the two GHB, I habe a wild speculation. I do not wan´t to creaty any wrong expectations, but: The Point Values is one of the thin Handouts/Pamphlets. I could imagine we can get theese for free at out local GW just like the Rules for 40k or AoS (at least as it was in the last edition). This would let the GHB be not necessary to get the updates, and therefore it would allow GW to put more content in it to make the book of a higher value for players. Also Point Values could be therefore changed in a higher pace than once a year. The fact, that it would mean higher costs for GW, is the main argument against my crazy theory
  7. As they dropped thge first Forbidden Power Short, I am quite sure we will get more on this topic. I also expect that the hinted 40k stuff, the Chaos Knights and Admech Transports, will be introduced. For AoS I guess the next book(s) after Sylvaneth may be announced. So far on the List remain: -Ogors (BCR and Gutbusters + Subfactions. Merge into one maybe? Or several books) -Savage Orruks -Ironjaws -Tzeentch -StD (Big Release to be expected, althrough the relation to Warcry is unknown) -Free People / Aelf Tomes (no one knows what to be expected and when, but at gw´s current release politic we can get them either soon or never or anything in between) -Vanilla Dwarfs -Kharadrons maybe, too? I don´t know how much 2.0 the current tome is -Seraphon We also do not know if, and which, new factions are to be expected. Despite of Aelves, which are rumoured since ages, we do not have any clue what may be a new next faction. If any, as GW seemed a bit underwhelmed by Idoneth Deepkin Sales from what I understood
  8. I wonder if the Tree is an endless Spell or Scenery. If Scenery, I really would like to know what will happen with the current one. Also: Whats with the other Endless Spells? Or are there maybe only two because of the sheer size? As Overread stated: Another new Battletomes would be nice to be hinted this weekend. Althrough I am so far mixed on expectations on the Slaves to Darkness as I really do not like that "Overly Man Man-Barbarians. In my taste every second sculpt just looks silly which is weird as the Bloodbound Berserker don´t look silly at all to me but thats taste. I hope for some less weird ****** hairdresses and more heavy plated warriors as StD should actually be 😮 But as this whole "Last Harbringer" thing is currently well hidden by gw we will have to wait
  9. Well, after a few of the 2.0 Battletomes already toyed too much with certain core rules and made the whole balance thing a bit more whacky in my eyes, I don´t know what to expect from mercenaries. When it´s all about having a rule back up for some cool medling of armies for fluff sake, it´s great, but I already know some people who will use this to find some broken synnergies if possible. If I remember back the days when Endless Spells were announced I sensed also several people were afraid from possible balance issues. Right now a lot of people got used to them and an Endless Spell apearing in a list is nothing unusual anymore. I guess we will get used to it one or another way
  10. Small little question: Has there been someone who tried to max out spells that give us a wound reflection with SCE? Like Azyrite Halo + Shield of Thorns of allied Sisters of the Thorn? This together with Staunch Defender, Save Reroll on Sequitors and a Lord Castellant sounds pretty interesting to me. A Staff of Azyr could be used to improve the longlivity of our caster. The big issue so far is the dependance on good casting rolls to keep the trick working.
  11. 40mm yes, but it is really a good bit bigger than the normal herald.
  12. Seems right to me so far :)Only thing I would like to point out is, that you can have only one general command trait in general. While Battalions give you command points and artifacts, no further general traits are added.
  13. Do actually Evocators on Dracoline count for the Cleansing Phalanx?
  14. I will use it as a DP for my Slaves to Darkness. Doing it already with my old Nurgle GUO
  15. Had yesterday my first game with the new Battletome and....boy we ain´t gonna have fun when Gutbusters/BCR´s Tome drop this year. We playes a 2v2 with Khorne + Shooty Lizzards and Kroaknado against Gutbusters and BCR and got smashed pretty badly. I places a MLoK, Deathbringer with Spear, Wrathmongers, a Khorgorath and 2x10 Reaver and 2x10 Bloodletters. Also a Slaughterpriest, Bloodsecrator and a Skulltaker. As the game went I actually was only fightning Gutbusters as the BCR went for some Lizzards on a Stick on the Buffet. It was simply not possible to do enough damage to the Ogors to kill them all before they could to the same to me. Due to the multi-damage and low save the ogors were able to simply tear whole units apart. The only Unit that actually did some harm to them was the Skulltaker, who was slashing and decapatating Ogors after Ogor. The game was a hell lot of fun but yeah, without a BT life can be pretty grim fightning Ogors.
  16. Yeah, especially as for the next Box they can mix up another pairing like Chaos/Destruction without risking that anyone in the community may have an big issue with it. That synergy with the SC!-Box is also one big selling point of the box! Similar like the Carrion Box we have here one Faction that is easy to start with the box-content and a SC (FEC/Sylvaneth) and one rather complex army (Skaven/Gloomspite). It´s just amazing what GW is releasing here right now. It works out way better than what they tried in 40k, mostly as almost every single 40k-dual-box contained some Space Marines. It´s just idioticaly easy to lure some new friends into the hobby, even when on a budget right now
  17. First of all: 12 Squig Herd as the two Goblins belong to the squad The Box looks great in my opinions. It´s nice that GW got 2 Boxes for all 4 Great Alliances (Chaos/Death with Carrion Empire) and now Destruction/Order. Also the selection of all of thoose 4 Factions is quite nice as all Factions deserved a bit more spotlight which they finally got I also like the fact that thoose two armies are a great contrast: Sylvaneth beeing more serious and grim while goblins are rather a funny and mad thing. This may lead to an easier split as both factions adress different tastes. I quess the box will be as limited as Carrion Empire, but stay longer in the shelf due to lower demand Edit: Thinking twice about it I noticed that GW actually put there content one might want to buy twice to start a solid army. Therefore I could imagine the demand beeing not so low as surely some people might buy this box twice.
  18. The box is great what is actually a big issue as I simply can´t store any more army but it would be such an easy way to start the Gloomspite Gits, especially as I have 2 packs Fellwater Troggoth lying around which I really really want to build very badly I guess I have to sell some stuff soon.
  19. I am also wondering about the scale. Seems pretty huge to me
  20. I like this thread as it quite nicely fits to my current struggle: I´ve purchased some old Gutbusters and Beastclaw Raiders from a Friend. Most of the stuff is painted in a pretty...basic way. All the same skin tone, same red trousers, quite boring and technicaly a solid C-. Therefore I want to repaint them and I concidered the following Ideas: Shyish Scoffers Painting the Skin in a basic Ghostly Green/Hexwraith Flame tone, the mounts of the BCR Units will be painted like this, maybe in reverse colors: A Basetone with warpaint assembling some bones underneath. Lorewise it would be also pretty cool: This force of Gutbusters/BCR´s was one of the forces that led an attack against Nagash shortly before the Necroquake (there was some short about armies of the 3 GA´s that somehow failed stopping Nagash´s Malign Portent Plans on Warhammer Community during the Campaign) and was stranded in Shyish after that Battle. They were roaming around the Realm in search for Food (read: Villages and People) but couldn´t find any. Nagash send out a Host of Nighthaunts to needle the Ogors while they were starving during their long march through the endless wastelands. This went on for a long time, with Ghosts appearing only to laugh about the Ogors slowly falling, until once day one cunning Ogor came to the great idea to simply devour the Ghosts. What first of all looked quite desperate and dumb and made Nagash himself giggle and laugh about thoose stupid creatures, ended quite fast in shock for the God of the Death. Whilst in the beginning the Ogors simply weren´t able to catch a Ghost, slowly the tides changed and...the Ogors were able to catch the ghosts and devour them. The more of the ghost the ogors were able to catch and devour, the more souls ended in their guts, trapped and slowly digested. In the end the whole Nighthaunt-Infestation that was send to mock and jibe the Gutbusters was simply eaten, and the skin of the Gutbusters stated to glow in a ghastly green. Since this day the Ogors started to roam Shyish and devour undead hordes, becoming a plague to the forces of nagash as precious souls ended up as food for thoose big parasitic brutes. Eyes of Chamon Painting the Skin of the Ogors silver with an airbrush for a chrome-alike effect, adding some bright colored marks all over them (rave rave rave) I have the Portal from a Mutalith Vortex Beast Thingy as Bit, I would place it on a Stonehorn or Thundertusk as the Big Eye Lorewise this Gutbusters drifted way to far into the unstable boarderregion of chamon where a weird anomaly manifested which they called the Big Eye. It was actually a real eye that belonged to a titan which was torn apart by the instable magic in this region. The Big Eye is therefore a manifested piece of realm magic that is as unstable as one would expect it to be. It´s gaze can turn Flesh into Metal (and also vice versa), Stone into Water, Fire into Ice and so on. Actually manifested weirdsome change, althrough untouched by Tzeentch yet an object of desire of all his cultists. Well, the Ogors are simple: As there is a big maw they are praising, there must be other parts and this Eye is therefore also a godly manifestation. They paint their bodies in virulent/glaring warpaints so the gaze of the eye may fall on them and grant them it´s blessing. I really cannot decide which of both to realize, but I actually rather tend to the second one as weird neon colors and X-Ogors or the Silversurfer are just funnier to imagine and also may finaly satisfy my need for a more popy army design.
  21. I can´t imagine them to remove the Mark of Chaos Rule. The backblow would be too big from all players who use StD´s under a specific God. I am honestly terrified by this tought as I´ve just spend good money to make my Slaves/Blades og Khorne Mix Army more valueable again and to loos like half of my army through such a swplit would be enough to ragequit the hobby~
  22. Althrough I enjoy 40k-close-combat due to "first Rank fights, second fights too" ruling, I guess it wouldn´t work well with AoS. The current system is a bit of a tricky measuring task which can easily be done with a combat gauge
  23. Hi Guys, I´ve got 6 Fellwater Trpggpth frpm a friend, and I am not sure what to do with them. As only 1 is built and 5 are in the sprue, I am concidering either to sell them, or to use them for some kind of cool army project thats more focused on painting and having cool and still playable models. Therefore I have some questions: -Are there any restrictions on Troggoth in an Gloomspite army? I know f.e. than only a pure Skryre Army may use Stormfiends as Battleline. Do Gloomspite have such a restriction or is a Trogboss enough? -Is Mollog worth concidering? And how about a Fungoid Cave Shaman? -What are the chances against armies with a lot of magic? -How is the Trogg-Hag`? The Model is utterly ugly and therefore worth concidering and the profile looks quite fun -Do we have any Value in the Spells and Terrain for the Gloomspite? Thatnks a lot for your help!
  24. Littel Question: Whats your opinion on the following: Chaos Lord on Manticore -Goretide General Trait (Hew the Foe) -Sword and Lance -Gorecleaver on Lance It requires a Battalion within the Army for the second Artifact beside the Goretide one, but leaves us with a Lord who does 4x 3+/3+ -2 4(8) DMG on the Charge, with 8 DMG on Wound Rolls of 6 and still a nice 3+/3+ -1 3(6) DMG without Charge
  25. @King Taloren While I totaly agree that the margin on the product is lower than the 95% that everyone expects, its still way higher than the 4-5% you suggested. As retailers get a 24-25% Discount the real Margin has to be somewere around 30-40% (at least this would be my expectation) Anyone noticed that they forgott BCR and Ogors as mentioned Factions in the AoS Part of the Survey?
