  1. Hey all! I'm putting together my first list with the new book and looking for some input. Going up against Kruleboyz in a 2k game later this week. Here's what I'm thinking so far -- still working out some of the smaller details as well as the battalions. Leaders Master Moulder (General) w/ Moulder Supreme, Foulhide / 90 Grey Seer on Screaming Bell (Death Frenzy) / 325 Clawlord / 110 Battleline Stormvermin (Reinforced) / 270 Clanrats (Reinforced) / 200 Clanrats (Reinforced) / 200 Rat Ogors (Reinforced) / 280 Behemoths Hell Pit Abomination / Toughened Sinews (245) Other Rat Ogors (140) Rat Ogors (140) Plan is to use the Moulder units as the hammer and the Verminus units for swarming objectives. Not sure how the bell is going to handle itself (wishing I could fit in a Warpseer instead!) but I want to give it a shot. Right now I'm debating whether I should keep the Clawlord for his command ability, or whether I should replace him with a Plague Priest, give him curse, and hope the mass dice rolling turns up a bunch of sixes. Clawlord seems more reliable, Plague Priest could deliver some serious moral wound spam. Thoughts? Interested to hear what everyone's experience with the new book has been so far.
  2. Hey all! I'm looking to get some feedback for a 1500 point list I'm putting together for a game against Sylvaneth. Still new to third edition and getting used to these point increases. Here's what I'm thinking: Grey Seer on Screaming Bell (265) Warlock Bombardier (125) Plague Priest (85) 40 Clanrats w/ spears (260) 20 Clanrats w/ blades (130) 4 Rat Ogres w/ Toughened Sinews (190) 3 Packmasters (60) Warp Lightning Cannon (185) Warp Lightning Cannon (185) Still sorting out the enhancements, but it comes out to 1485. Plan is for the bombardier to babysit the cannons while they unleash the mortal wound spam while the bell, the big clanrat unit (buffed by the priest's curse prayer!) and the rat ogres pursue objectives. The 20 man clanrat unit can screen for the ogres or the artillery as needed. Thoughts? I also have an additional 20 clanrats, 40 stormvermin, weapon teams (3 ratling, 3 warpfire, 9 jezzails), a doomwheel, a clawlord and an arch-warlock I can sub in as well. Thanks!
  3. Hey all — looking for some feedback on a mixed Skryre / Verminus list. Going to be getting my first third edition game in soon. Grey Seer w Bell 265 Warlock Bombardier 125 Warlock Bombardier 125 40 Clanrats 260 20 Clanrats 130 30 Stormvermin 330 Doomwheel 165 Warp Lightning Cannon 185 6 Jezzails 290 Feeling good about the list overall — decent number of bodies and a few solid threats. My main question is what to do with the remaining 125 points. On hand and painted I have a claw lord, a plague priest, the vermintide spell and a mix of weapon teams (ratlings and warpfires). Thoughts?
  4. How are people feeling about rat ogres in the new edition? In second edition I’ve been running a mixed Verminus / Skryre list but the recent Moulder buffs have me thinking it might be time to switch things up. (Good chance to break out some old pewter models I have kicking around, too!) My first thought is to use two units of four paired with a Master Moulder — two separate units increases the chance for them to respawn, plus a little more flexibility. Anyone have any thoughts on / successes with these guys?
  5. Hey all, I’m currently a Skaven and Mawtribes player looking to branch out into a third army as sort of a summer project. Looking for a low model count force and troggoths fit the bill. (Plus I have some old WFB stone trolls kicking around in the garage so I’m already well on my way...) I’m planning to work up to 1k first and start with a troggboss, a fungoid cave shaman, six rockguts and three fellwaters. With the current points that leaves me with 210 left over. Any thoughts on where those points should go? I was thinking bounders at first (love the models!) but the unreliable movement speed isn’t great. Interested in any guidance / suggestions. Thanks!
  6. Hey all, Currently running a mixed Gutbusters / Beastclaw list at 2000 points with the Bloodgullet allegiance. I’ve had solid results overall but I’m looking for suggestions / critiques re: my heroes and their general load outs. Heroes: Slaughtermaster (general) Splatter-cleaver / Nice drop o’ the red stuff Fleshcrave Curse / Ribcracker Butcher Blood feast / greasy deluge Huskard on Stonehorn Blood vulture / black clatterhorn Battleline: 12 Gluttons 6 Leadbelchers 8 Ironguts Other: 4 Mournfangs Endless Spells: Balewind Vortex Currently thinking about dropping a pair of leadbelchers and upping the huskard into a frostlord with the remaining points. Any tips re: spells, hero equipment and abilities would be great as well. Thanks!
  7. Question for any and all experienced Overlords — I’m thinking about getting into KOs when the new book drops. One thing I’ve been considering is replacing some of the rank-and-file minis’ helmeted heads with classic Dispossessed / Dwarf heads in order to give the army a less anonymous feel. Anyone have experience doing this? I’m not super familiar with the kits themselves, are the arkanaut / thunderer heads separate from the torsos? Might replace them with longbeard heads if it’s an easy swap.
  8. Quick question — my apologies if this has been covered already. Will the Mawtribes book be going up for preorder this weekend alongside the Ossiarch / Ogres box? Looking forward to getting the large lads back on the table!
  9. Quick question! I’m looking to sub out my unpredictable / often ineffectual doomwheel for some objective control. I want to bring in a unit of ten gutter runners but the price (and mono-pose minis) are an issue. Would anyone take issue with using plastic night runners in place of gutter runners? I can’t imagine it’d be a problem (same size, same weapons) but you never know.
  10. Hey all, Editing my list in light of the new book and I’m looking for some input. What’s the developing consensus on stormfiends? I’m considering running a block of six (2 doomflayers / 2 projectors / 2 cannons) but I’m not sure if they’ll be worth the points now that you can’t tool them for a specific role. Rat ogres are looking far more viable than before — I’m considering dropping the fiends and adding in a blob of ogres, packmasters for support and potentially an extra warpfire thrower to back up the clanrats. Thoughts on stormfiends versus rat ogres?
  11. Hey all! Gutbusters player here, looking to start up a second force. Planning out 1000 points of Gloomspite to start and I’m looking for critiques before I pick anything up. Not going for a hard theme, instead going for a mix — trying to include some solid objective anchors as well as some speedier elements. Heroes: Loonboss on Giant Cage Squig Madcap Shaman Battleline: 40 Stabbas 10 Squig Hoppers Other: 3 Fellwater Troggoths 10 Boingrot Bounderz 990 Total
