  1. Ok, first off... all feelings are valid and I’m sorry you feel a bit hard done by, that sucks. Now, if I may be a bit more optimistic about things and impart (not again...) my thoughts and responses to your views, some of which will be shared by others. Re-skinning old models with beautifully detailed, incredibly engineered, creative takes on old tropes is something we should all welcome. I think it’s a false dichotomy to say we have to either keep old crud minis or completely re-invent the wheel. Some archetypes are strong, and defy reinvention for the sake of it. So, for me at least re-skinning ugly as hell dire wolves 10/10, skeles 10/10, zombies 10/10, blood knights 10/10, bats 10/10, new vampire lord 10/10, wight king on steed 10/10. Re the MANY new Vampire Lord sculpts, oh woe is us... We now have three new vampire lords one of which ties into the narrative of cursed city (great), a new ratty one and that masked lady. The former prob will only work as a named character, fine. The latter, due to irregular base sizes, possibly also true. By for now, put assumptions about names characters aside, pretty please. In addition we have a new named vampire lord on a wolf (stunning model) and two incredibly dynamic and very imaginative new models in the form of Luka and her buddy. These are a massive departure from anything we’ve seen before for Soulblight, and are really stunning - yes they are a bit marmite, but have you seen the entire Fyreslayer range?! So, you are also making some HUGE and quite negative assumptions without seeing any rules as to why taking named characters is actually a bad thing. All salty speculation, totally choosing to disregard anything close to rules or actual facts. They might be excellent buff pieces and my guess based of recent trends, is that they will be impactful and characterful. If nothing else, THE RULE OF COOL PREVAILS always. If you only want to play this game to stomp face and play bruk shiiiiit, I can direct you to LRL. So, if I may be so bold chill your boots a bit there cowboy. We have already had some VERY CLASSIC re-sculpts. I feel today was more about revealing some new never seen before stuff, and in that sense they wowed us. Yes, we’ve seen dire wolves before. But the jank we had until today is getting on for 15-20 years old. Ok, next up. OUR ZOMBIE DRAGON AND VAMPIRE LORD ARE GREAT MODELS. Move on. They also share a kit with the terrorghiest and ghoul king and as a long term FEC player and member of the WhatsApp group and owner of 4 of these models (zd and tg’s) I can resolutely say you are the only person I’ve heard complaining about what is still a a really nice and quite intimidating centre piece model. They absolutely are not about to scrap two kits, for another one. As to your point about taking the whole crew of villains from cursed city, that’s a good call. It stops scalpers, which are a menace that’s the first thing. It makes cherry picking things from an otherwise hard to find box also much harder to do. And, REALLY, pretty much all characters from the Warhammer quest games are sub-par in AoS, they are supposed to be. Otherwise they are introducing a very expensive pay to play bar which is unfair. You should, rather than moan about that see it as a nice flavourful and thematic addition to your army. I am fortunate enough to have one and I absolutely LOVE that I can have Radukar and his cronies pre-cursed city, or him on his own hench style after the adventurers failed to kill him. That is totally rad. Literally one of the coolest things they have done in a while. I have never wanted elite footmen, that’s not why I play this army and never has been. I’m sorry if this sounds mean, but if that’s what you want, play another army maybe? Paint them up as undead? I for one an absolutely pumped to run a patchwork army backed up by weird narcissistic self loathing monstrous vamps. It’s exactly how they should be. I’m also mad pumped to get the book, to find out how Nef and Manfred and Vhodrai fit in. There is SO much we don’t yet know, today is literally the tip of the iceberg and as someone who has played Warhammer since I was 9 (I’m 43) this is the most excited I’ve ever been about the hobby. Sorry you don’t feel the same. x
  2. Everything in terms of models.... well, endless spells too... I guess. Ok ok Ok Ohhhkaaaaay
  3. They literally said on the reveal video, THIS IS EVERYTHING.
  4. I have waited 15 years or something close to that for today’s boon. We win the internet today. We have simply the best looking army. Ladies, gentlemen I salute you all.
  5. Can someone please invent a time machine and send me back an hour so I can sort out this god forsaken mess?!
  6. I’m in Sweden, we’re an hour ahead. Just imagine how much worse that feels. I’m in the future and I still don’t know what’s going on.
  7. Call me a heretic but I’m all about keeping stuff as it is, but drastically updating miniature range and massively overhauling rules. I frickin love Zombros, Skelebobs, Doggos and Batties lead by Vamps. Sure, gimme a few new units, but personally I play Undead cos I love the existing lore. Sure, throw us a new Vampiric Centaur Gribbly or two, but I really don’t want a massive AoS style reinvention along the lines of Lumineth, Ko etc. Etheric Bong Wizards from the Realm of Heinrich Von Deathghist, nah.
  8. Let’s call a ♠️ a ♠️ the Palanquin is utterly turgid bum gravy. The amount of time, money and effort it would take to paint that is so completely out of whack with its in game utility. It’s also a super lame build of the kit compared to the other two, and if I’m brutally honest it always felt like a weak sauce cash grab. If the rules were half decent, I’d get behind it. Currently the meh is strong with that one. That said, I’ve never been especially wowed with the Throne either. The Mortis engine has always felt like a far better utility piece. Cheaper, with a great casting buff, it has an aura heal, screams and blows up.
  9. Given how our current Mortarchs (discounting Vhodrai) are weak as p i s s rules wise, it shouldn’t be hard to top them. That is, unless the seriously beef up their rules (please please please). I’ve never quite wrapped my around how Manfred and Neffy are supposedly these baller vampires, yet fall over to a stiff breeze. How exactly was it they survived the utter destruction of the old world?
  10. Wow. So, new leaks suggest ALL unit champions in AoS 3.0 will be able to issue commands from the new generic ones (stand and shoot, flee, defend +1 save and also attack +1 to hit). Which means we can expect some big FAQ’s to OBR, and might give more weight to us getting archers, i.e. we will likely be able to benefit from stand and shoot too and will therefore need a unit able to do this.
  11. Has anyone managed much success running Morgaunt? Defo seems like the red headed step child of the courts. I’m gonna go out on a limb and predict they drop to 80pts for 10 in GHB 21. Also feel that with potential battalion losses incoming and move to generic our strong Mordants build will be thing of the past, competitive wise. Putting to one side what we don’t know about said generic battalions, the meta will, I’m guessing, shift somewhat with greater focus on effective sub-factions and command traits. How do people think we’d fair in that climate? Finally, I’m one of them jammy ‘c u next Tuesdays’ that got two copies of Cursed City (haters gonna hate), how rad are the Vargskyrs?! Absolutely binning off the old Vargs.
  12. Pretty sure it’s the mental new centaur camp thing predicted / leaked a while back
  13. I think maybe, just maybe... its time to let Abhorash go. x
  14. More importantly, wtf is this? It looks big, batty, pasty and with pointy things. Well, thats my professional opinion anyway.
  15. INTERESTING Usually the WD articles relating to AoS are watered down, fun takes on things in the respective factions. Perhaps this pic might lead us to believe its as simple as we get two types of Vampire lord? I know we shouldn't read too much from this, but bestial companions and different mounts seems very sexy. 'If you like the idea of creating your own characters then you’re in luck, as Anvil of Blood provides you with guidelines to do just that for a Necromancer, Wight King, and your choice of Martial or Arcane Vampire Lord.' 'You also receive a number of destiny points which you can spend on adding nuanced skills, upgrades, and equipment, and you can even accompany your deathly lord of choice with a bestial companion, or mount them atop a monstrous or esoteric steed.'
  16. I flogged off all 120 old skeles, 40 great weapon grave guard and 140 zombies. Simply couldn't let go of my old metal grave guard with sword and board. Oddly they are pretty much same head height as new skelebobs in cursed city. It's just the SIZE of the head thats so off. Gonna keep them tho, cos they are charming and cost a smegging ton. That said, I am really hoping Gdub release some turbo bad ass hench af chad like grave guard.
  17. It's our terrifying new Korsagi unit armed with f3ck off massive glaives. Obvs.
  18. Lest we forget how amazing they were when they first came out. Finally, uniformed easy to rank models!
  19. And there you have it, confirmation SGL will still include Graveguard and by the looks of it, still using the old kit. https://www.warhammer-community.com/2021/04/29/get-this-exclusive-ghal-maraz-coin-from-your-local-warhammer-store-in-may/
  20. Chill your boots. Games workshop haven’t officially stated on their community site or white dwarf that the game will be unsupported going forwards. This is all speculation based off some comments by Gdub on social media. Even if Cursed City was a limited run, it doesn’t mean there won’t be subsequent additions to the game. That is just further speculation. I absolutely hear your saddness not to have picked up a copy, really it sucks. I have two copies, one still in shrink wrap with a key. Far be it from me to be an opportunistic scalper 🥸 but if your so very desperate, make me an offer. AoS however is a much bigger product line. It’s their flagship product, and nothing their board game does regardless of connections thematically or narratively will have any impact on the AoS product. All will be well we will get our Vamps, our new heroes, our centrepiece models, new endless spells, battle line and elite units. Special dice, cards, tokens and ltd edition books. The only serious issue going forwards, will be availability. If you don’t manage to be there on pre-order day, at 10am ready to buy expect to be disappointed. It’s always this way to a certain extent, but right now even more so. BUT, as it’s a flagship product it will always be in stock and for years to come. It’s just if you're like the rest of us frothy mouthed consumers who are so easily manipulated and wound up by GW into thinking that the world is ending if we don’t get our toys the minute they are out. Final thought, Covid is a c u n t. It has effected everyone in the world. And I don’t know about you, but I’ve always played hammer (for 32 years now) as a form of escapism and a sanctuary from the crud. It’s a world and place I love to explore, a game I’m obsessed with wedded to a community I dig. If anything gets in the way of that, ie covid, it really really bites. Right now, for me at least, I need this escapism more than ever. And for it be taken out of reach, by the very same company we look too for our fix, without good communication or clarity, sucks. Thank 🦆 we have this space to offload and support each other. Much love.
