  1. The old look was hardly in keeping with their rules either? They are 75 points. Move 14”. What’s not too like?
  2. And for the record, the weight of opinion against people who think things are good far far outweighs the opposite. If people say it’s good, people will say no it’s bad. It’s the exact same both ways. X
  3. Exactamundo. It’s about as off putting as people dumping all over everything claiming it’s hot garbage.
  4. 1) They ain’t supposed to be heavy hitters, and they are resurrect-able. Also, don’t need to be babysat to get deathless minions. Did they drop down a bit in output, yes, on pure warscroll. But in conjunction with other rules, probably on par. 2) Since when exactly was a 75pt throwaway objective capturing distraction unit supposed to be badass? As for combat output, they are pants. But again, they are bats.
  5. But there are lots of other ways to get their damage and wound rolls increased, plus they are battle line now. An improvement. Wight kings have seen a points drop. And in AoS 3.0 buffs can’t be stacked, so +1 attack would be wasted as the vamps do it. Therefore, this is an improvement. Disagree, think the rules have made clearer distinction between battlefield roles. Bats have move 14”, and work nicely within a new batallion. They almost never saw action before, now they will. Improved. Vampire lords is a very wide category, I for one am ok with Named vamp lords having unique and thematic rules. The bog standard vamp lord, is just that. No problem with this change. Oh, they got a +1 save, a more reliable damage output and better heal. Improvement. The cursed city points is a bit of a moot point given availability. But that’s not a good reason for questionable points. But, I happen to think that’s quite reasonable for what you get. The spread of new rules is fairly even, all sub factions get the same amount plus artefacts. Some are better than others. Actually, for once I’d say there isn’t a stand out. Which is great. All the sub factions seem nice and quite different. With new models, comes new rules. And I think you might be suffering from being blind to the rules that already are great or ones which have had a tweak. It’s boring af, but in a nutshell. The following are way better: Blood Knights, zombies, Vargheists, Mortarchs, sub factions, artefacts, spells, batallions and most important rules interactions. But sure, I couldn’t give a dogs dinner about those who wanna sulk and feel it’s all terrible. As I said prev, all feelings are of course valid, but there is AS ALWAYS those amongst us who massively overreact and fail to see the good and instead wanna focus on the negative, which in this case I hand on heart can say is very little.
  6. So hype for sky high Vargheists, wolfen vampires, evasive Manfred, Luka Vai, Wolves everywhere and Blood Knights leaping over screens. We have a very fun couple of years ahead of us. Pure winz
  7. Disagree. That is a legit terrible book. This isn’t.
  8. I’m actually good with this. Because, they are mad killing machines. Just not all of them, and nor should one small 32mm based model in this game be that nails. That’s what the bigger dudes are for. Otherwise we end up in an arms race of, my Chaos lord is as strong as your Ironjawz is as strong as your Beastman lord. They are all hard as nails. And ours, in the context of everything else is the book and game, for a little model is actually pretty robust.
  9. I literally can’t be bothered. It’s fairly obvious to anyone with half a brain, who isn’t a reactionary trigger finger toy thrower. It’s really good, look at the interactions. Anyone who can’t or won’t see it, is either stubborn or incapable of using even a scintilla of imagination. It’s not my job to spell it out for those people. Once that crowd have exhaled all their hot air, the rest of us will get into some really nice list writing and rules crunching. Couldn’t be happier. Oh, has anyone seen or got a copy of the Nef warscroll yet?
  10. Just read all the new warscrolls. You naysayers must be smoking crack. This book is legit good. Jog on phurlease.....
  11. Glad Nagash is borderline unusable, he is boring af. Not upset by vamp lord changes, they’re fine as is wight king changes. Not sure if any of you recall this, but buff stacking ain’t a thing anymore, max + or - 1.
  12. Loving the overreactions. This book is rad, it needing nerfing in lots places and points hikes were also a necessary adjustment. None of you naysayers gonna turn this ship around! Really happy with some of these changes.
  13. Yup, no one knows the rules for AoS 3, it’s sorta pointless going round and around based on AoS 2.0 when we DO know there are some major core rules changes incoming.
  14. I have to say, I wholeheartedly disagree. (a) I don’t buy this false dichotomy, it ain’t that simplistic. (b) the rules I HAVE SEEN must be different to the ones you’ve been looking at? Cos to my primitive reptilians eyes, the look to be a significant improvement on where we were. (c) generally speaking, the broken books have been a complete wet ******. They are OP out the gates, present the most NPE, dominate the field and usually end up being the least dynamic in terms of builds cos there is almost always an obvious path to go down which everyone does. (d) I happen to like it when I see a new book and it doesn’t scream broken. I’m looking for flavourful, thematic, impactful rules which embrace the lore and seem inkeeping with the new model range. So, yeah. I get the HWG has made a thing about sin and bin guy, but it’s really far more nuanced than that, as believe it or most most things are... it just suits ranty threads, podcasts and social media to push these simplistic black and white ITS GREAT VS ITS TERRIBLE. yeahzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  15. Just an FYI, at risk of being gushy.... this thread has been so lush over the last month or so. Something I love to contribute to despite my combative rants, occasional toxic fanboy nature burning a few bridges and ruffling a few feathers. I moved to Sweden end of 2019, just before the plague. Moved away from a great local AoS community in Thanet, Kent and have been missing it a shed load, especially in the last year. There is a decent scene here in Southern sweden, but covid... Been playing a ton of TTS, which whilst nice sometimes feels like a bit of a cold transaction, the bants just ain’t the same. Anywhoo, should the occasion arise and I finally get mothertrucking vaccinated, I’m all about a trip back to UK for a tournie with this new SBGL goodness and hopefully if any of you bloodsucking vamps are about poss share a pint or twelve with you. I’m actually not that much of a see u next Tuesday in real life, lol. So hype for this weekends preorder!
  16. We have no idea if this is an always ON ability or if it’s a CP ability. We also have no idea how prevalent CP’s are in AoS 3.0, and no idea how CP hungry this army will be. We have no idea WHATSOEVER about any of the core rules changes in AoS 3.0 or for that matter what changes there will be to all the existing battletome let alone the ones currently in the pipeline which we don’t know about. In short, we have NO IDEA about anything much apart from there being a new rule which allows Manfred to leave combat. That’s it. Everything else is speculation, and will be for at least a few weeks. So, probably... and sorry if I yet again seem confrontational, we can be a bit chill about everything being bad. Cos. We. Don’t. Know. big love and respect for the passion and informative thoughts tho.x
  17. They’ve already show Count Duval or whatever he’s called, he’s a bit meh but that’s fine cos the model is sick af
  18. These seem likely changes. Nothing major, just slight perks in line with Blood Knights.
  19. Their aren’t. All armies have either some ranged magic output, some shooting, ability to project power, striking out of combat sequence ie before teleports, or ways to stop X unit doing Y. So, I too am not being confrontational, but there are lots of ways to shut down rules such as this. But sure, there will also be lots of times when he is next to impossible to kill BUT he is one model and last time I checked they didn’t tend to win game’s singlehandedly ——- Archaon aside.
  20. Plus we don’t know whether Manfreds ability is an ‘always on’ ability or CP. So, it might not always be available.
  21. Hoping that unlike AoS 2.0 they don’t see rolling 200+ dice a turn as the best way to make skeletons viable. If we’re talking about obnoxious, then this is villain #1. Rolling shed loads of inefficient attacks for modest return. At best it’s boring and slows game down a lot, at worst it leads to people just saying - nah, let’s not bother roll we can just say their dead or whatever. I’d much prefer some thematic unique rules to represent skeletons relentless implacable advances. Don’t ask me what, just not rolling 340 dice a turn. Eugh
