  1. Waiting another two months will be agony. As soon as we get the full core rules I want to just start playing.
  2. Ah, that's an interesting theory I hadn't heard yet. Unfortunately it doesn't follow, because the Slaughterpriest has the same 5+ Save in 4th that he currently has in 3rd.
  3. How do you mean? If it's just an indicator of a 4th ed warscroll then why bother? 4th ed scrolls are significantly different in layout and color anyway. Why would a randomly filled in value with a random color be a marker for 4th edition? But you also have to reference Health and OC in the enemy phases as well. What if you get spells cast on you? Health check. None of the other stats are colored. And like I mentioned, white text on green is much less readable than white on black.
  4. I'll ask this again to get back to rumors, but what the heck does the green fill color mean for the Save value? Does it mean anything at all? Some people suggest it makes it "easier to read" but I disagree; it's not more legible than white on black. Why only the Save value? Why was no other stat colored? If you were to color a value green, the first instinct would be Health. Health is always green in games. From a purely visual aesthetic, it looks bad. None of the most common answers people have given make sense to me. Either there is some hidden meaning we're not aware of yet, or it was a pointless, incohesive whim of graphic design. This is like my white whale of AoS 4th.
  5. It's easier to find criticisms than compliments. I think it all looks good, and prayers could be a fun mini-game.
  6. Well Lumineth might have something that gives them more options. But we all shouldn't suffer for the crimes of Elf Wizards.
  7. I'm not sure why you guys want to memorize multiple spell lores for multiple heroes in a game. That's a nightmare to me and I'd probably swear off magic forever. I'm happy they stuck to one lore per army.
  8. 1) Roll a D6 Chanting Roll 2) Gain that many RP unless it's a 1 (then you lose D3 RP). 3) Decide whether you want to "Cast" the Prayer with your points 4) If you do, cast the prayer and lose the RP cost. If not, keep the points. You can decide to hoard RP for better effects.
  9. They should have showed us the Clanrat warscroll with the Skaven history article.
  10. Those Kroxigor are awesome, beefy as hell. Now gimme 6 Health Troggoths!
  11. Two Thin Coats is great. Most of my stuff is Vallejo. Army Painter is supposed to be releasing a new formula of "Fanatic" Warpaints that are supposed to be quite good--eager to try them out.
  12. Their purpose also doesn't match their aesthetic. They're supposed to remind the SC of their humanity, but they just look like monks draped in bible passages. They should be holding trinkets, pets, or themselves be recognizable elements of the SC's life. Like what if one of the memorians was just their kid? It would be more impactful and drive home the cost of their affliction.
  13. As an owner of both the old and new goblins. The old ones had way more character to them in their expressive faces and outfits. The newer ones are fine--better proportioned, yes, but boring.
  14. I don't really understand these Armored Troggoth rumors. Not saying they're wrong, but why would they design a second Troggoth unit that's all about being tough? Rockguts are already the "tough stone skin Troggoth" archetype. Unless it's a totally different kind of troggoth that just happens to wear some armor.
  15. My guess is that they look more similar to the old Chaos Hellcannon crew.
  16. They continue making the same mistake of thinking the only thing Slanns can be good at is tactically nuking the opponent with 40 NPE mortals a turn. We really don't need to design them that way.
  17. Stormcast having army-wide Finest Hour is rad.
  18. I don't think it's an error. It's a way to cut down on rolling dice for the sake of rolling. Instead of having to roll a 3+ and then roll D3 mortals, you do it all in a single die roll. It also makes it so you'll never only do 1 Mortal. It's a clever streamlining of what we're used to.
  19. Can I say, I'm so pleased with the direction they took on USRs. Each ones explicitly identifies its effect. It's much easier to understand, and there's really nothing to memorize. This works better than something like "Sustained Hits" or "Devastating Strike" where you have to digest and retain what those phrases mean.
  20. I think this all looks great. Counter Charge in particular is going to be fun. I'm hoping there's less save stacking through spells, abilities, etc., but other than AoD, I'm a fan of these commands.
  21. As much as we complain about this, that, and the other thing. The AoS model design team always knocks it out of the park. It's just a question of whether or not the ball lands into your particular zone of interest.
  22. And with every edition it becomes truer.
  23. I know it's little consolation for the inevitable, but it's worth reminding people that Beasts, Bonesplitterz and Sancrosanct will all get Index battletomes at the start of 4th ed. They won't be updated, but you still have about a year of playtime left with these models. Again, it doesn't alleviate the pain, but these guys aren't dead quite yet. I say enjoy them while you can.
  24. That flag might be a little tone deaf considering the times we're currently living in. But I don't think they purposefully decided to reference ******. Black, red, and white have been Skaven primary colors since old Fantasy.
