Legion might be the best designed wargame on the market. I would always be up for a game of Legion, and I don't think I could say that about any other game, even AoS. And I'm not even that much of a Star Wars nerd.

As someone who runs a lot of introductory games for new players, AoS' current #1 issue is overcomplexity. Too many things to pick from lists, too many sub-phases. And launch Battle Tactics into the sun--I never want to see them again in their current iteration.

This is what I'm hoping for. As a DoK player, I think the one-note Khainite worshippers being bamboozled theme has passed its prime. With Morathi becoming a true god, it no longer makes sense that she would hide it, and a combined force of Khainites and Umbral elves would be sick. DoK are already basically shadow elves.

Putting aside the fact that the dude is almost always wrong and/or just trolling his audience... What an easy "prediction" to make. So if Chorfs come out anytime in the next 3 years he can claim success. I have info too! My uncle at Nintendo told me Malerion is coming back in 4th edition! Be sure to remember I said this in two years or don't if it never happens!

From my point of view, the Jedi are evil.

If I were GW, I would release a series of three or four Fyreslayer units (golems, droth cavalry, valkyries, pyroslayers, etc) that can potentially be played as their own army (like all IJ pigs). And then in 3-5 years redo the original dwarf sculpts.

Let's get this Old World stuff out of the way, then we can get to the real meaty business of 2024, Dawnbringer books 4+5, and AoS 4th edition.

It's amusing to look retrospectively at the year's models and see which ones people enjoyed. Nobody (I hope) actually cares about what wins; it's just for fun. But there's literally no reason they can't separate 40k from AoS in the voting, which would lift up even more great models that deserve to be recognized.

I find it interesting that we haven't heard any rumors about HOW 4th edition will change the game. Even if it isn't a total revamp, almost all edition shifts drastically change the way we play. Will we get new generic commands? Will army construction change? Will we finally get rid of the god awful battle tactic system?

Absolutely not. I'm saying that instead of a dual box, you get a box with about 1200-1500 points of a single army and the rulebook. They're still always going to sell the battle tomes and GHBs separately. Assuming the price is the same, I'd much rather have the single army, and it saves me the trouble of having to pawn off the half I don't want.

How would everyone feel if AoS edition launches offered two army boxes for each premiered faction instead of the time-honored split dual box? That's the single thing I actually like about this whole Old World thing.

That's my take as well. Now give us badass Ogre women proper, GW.

New editions also mean they get to resell every army's battletome all over again.

Nurgle is also one of those factions that already has five thousand heroes to choose from. They need units, not another single model sorcerer or whatever. I would like to see something akin to Plague Toads reimagined and in plastic.

With only a few months remaining before the drums of 4th edition start rumbling, I'm curious if we'll see any indications of future changes with the final Dawnbringer books.

99% chance we don't get alternating activations, but I'll keep arguing for it until we do. At some point in the future we'll get a rotten edition of the game, it's inevitable, but the total revamp after that might induct alternating activations.

For those who end up disappointed with Old World... Conquest is pretty cool...just saying.

40k models always win "model of the year" simply because it has way more players. More players means more votes. The voting process should definitely separate the two games. You'd of course align sub-games with the appropriate system (e.g., Warcry for AoS, Killteam for 40K, etc.).

I don't see any bad rules here. A good sign for FEC players.
