  1. This spell says you select a visible objective at 12" to deal the effect.

Can you block the line of view to the objective? Some people say yes, you can, and some people say no, you can't. Both have nice arguments.

For example, if the is a wall between the wizard and the objective, it isn't visible because the terrain feature blocks the visibility. However, you can hide a miniature behind a GUO and you can't shoot that miniature or you can't try to disperse an endless spell wich is behing a GUO because you can't see it. The great question is, can you hide the objetive with a miniature or with it's base?

Sadly it's not true. There is only 1 battleshock each turn, so you must wait for the one in your turn. Battleshock is exactly like combat phase, each player do a battleshock test and the players who have the turn do it first. Soulrender in IDK have the same issue, he can only bring back model in his battleshock phase.

That's rights, there's only 1 battleshock phase per turn, so we can only try to resurrect at the end of our turn.

One question regarding Endless Legions where I guess we need some answer: "At end of your battleshock phase ..." Does it mean it only works at the end of the battleshock phase from your turn on also in the battleshock phase of the opponent turn?

There are two battleshock phases in each turn, one for you and one for your enemie, so you can use that ability once per turn.

  4. The "Endless Legions" allegiance ability currently seems to allow for the perpetual resurrection of one unit that was slain. Even if it has been resurrected before. Even if the replacement is still on the field.

There is a direct reference about what "reinforcements" are, so I assume a destroyed unit can only come back (at 50%) one per battle.

    Look at Gorslav command abilitie:

I'd argue that yes, you can. The funny thing is, reading the wording for Retreat, it doesn't state a real requirement, just a categorization (i.e. if you make a normal move and were in melee range, then that move is considered a retreat). So since Parting Shot simply states "you must retreat," the only requirement to comply with the rules is "If a unit retreats, it can move within 3" of an enemy, but must end the move more than 3" from all enemy units."

That's correct. So they can retrear anyway. Thanks for the answer!

I'd argue that it can still move, as the ruling simply says they must retreat, which is a type of move that's only really restricted by the standard "can't end within 3" of enemy units." Even if it's no longer a retreat per se, as there are no enemy units within 3", the Parting Shot ability nevertheless says you must make the movement, so it'll happen even if the normal condition for it (if it was the Movement Phase) wouldn't apply.

I talked about this with a friend. However, can you retrear if you aren't at 3" or less fron another unit? My opinion is No, because you can't retrear if you aren't in combat, doesn't it?

  7. The rule says:

Page 65 – Fangs of Sotek, Parting Shot
    Change the rule to:
‘You can use this command ability when an enemy  unit ends a charge move within 3" of a friendly Fangs of Sotek unit from the Skinks or Chameleon Skinks warscroll that is  wholly within 18" of a friendly Fangs of Sotek Hero. If you do so, that unit can shoot. After you have resolved all of that unit’s shooting attacks, roll a dice. On a 4+, that unit must retreat but cannot run. A unit cannot benefit from this command ability more than once per phase.’

The question is. If I charge a unit of skins with idoneyh and my opponent uses the command ability, then he shoots and at 4+ he retreats. If i put only 1 miniature at 0,5" during the charge and the other ones at 3.1", and then he kills 1 miniature (i retire the closest one), can he still retrear with the skins unit even if he isn't in combat because I retired the miniature which charged? Because I can still pile in 3" after that.

    fMgCqzR.jpg

The problem is about the correct secuence.

1 - Attack, retreat at 4+ and finally retire miniatures.

2 - Attack, retire miniatures and finally retreat at 4+ if there are still miniatures at 3" or less (can't retreat if you are not in combat).

    What's the correct order, 1 or 2?

    Greetings

  8. The ability "Ranks of Mischievous Mirages" (Tzeentch subfaction THE HOSTS DUPLICITOUS) says " Enemy units within 3" of a HOSTS DUPLICITOUS unit cannot retreat."

The ability "Rally Back" (Ossiarch Bonereapers subfaction STALLIARCH LORDS) says " You can use this command ability in your movement phase. If you do so, pick 1 friendly STALLIARCH LORDS unit that has a mount and either is wholly within 6" of a friendly Mortek Hekatos or is wholly within 12" of a friendly STALLIARCH LORDS HERO. That unit  can retreat in that phase and still charge later in the same turn, as long as it did not run."

So, if I play Tzeench versus an Ossiarch player with Stalliarch Lords subfaction, can he reatreat using 1 CP because his ability says he can retreat even if my rul says he can't?

    Greetings

  9. Just a quick question. If I move an Ironjawz unit in my hero phase using 1 CP, I can run with that unit. So the question is, can that unit charge later? I know if you run in the movement phase, that unit can't charge, but does that rule apply at the hero phase?

    Greetings

  10. I played a 4kVs4k match yesterday between Slaanesh and Ossiarch Bonereapers. We played with what we had (I only proxed 15 Black Knights as Deathriders). The lists were the following ones:

    Hedonitas de Slaanesh

    • 1x Syll'Esske - General
    • 1x Shalaxy Helbane
    • 2x Keeper of Secrets
    • 5x Infernal Enrapturess
    • 1x Bladebringer on Exalted Chariot
    • 1x Contorted Epitome
    • 1x30 Daemonetes
    • 1x20 Daemonetes
    • 1x6 Fiends
    • 2x5 Seekers
    • 1x20 Chaos Warriors
    • 1x5x Chaos Knights
    • 1 Extra Command Point

    Ossiarch Bonereapers

    • 1x Katakros - General
    • 1x Arch-Kavalos Zandtos
    • 1x Liege-Kavalos
    • 1x Mortisan Soulmanson
    • 2x Mortisan Boneshapper
    • 1x Gothizzar Harvester
    • 1x Mortek Crawler
    • 1x6 Necropolis Stalkers
    • 2x10 Kavalos Deathriders
    • 1x40 Mortek Guards
    • 2x20 Mortek Guards
    • 2 Batalions

    3o8wD0c.jpg

I used to have between 14-20 command points per turn and Katakros negated my opponent 1 CP every turn, very nice against Slaanesh. Zandtos was very valuable letting my units to repeat all to wound in addition of the +1 to save and +1 to hit from Katakros.

Finaly Slaanesh managed to kill 1340 points and Ossiarch 3090 + 980 (summoned). It's clear that OB are good against melee armies with low MW output.

  11. If you want a low drop army, you can take a mortisan, 10 Morteks and the batalion Shield Corps. A lot of CPs and low drops.

If the enemy has bloodthirsters, Gothizzar can be usless because of the  MW 8" area, but it can be very powerful against other CaC armies.

I think double Crawler isn't very good at this moment. The opponent can take Ulgu and it would be difficult to shoot down enemies.

Maybe Zandtos is a nice pick thanks to the bonuses (repeat 1s or all to wound).

Okay, so this is might be a weird/silly question so I apologise in advance.

I've seen people running Katakros as general in MP armies and I've been using the Azyr app to do army building but when I do, it says I need to assign the MP command trait to a general when I put a second hero on the list? Do you have to do that or is it being weird

You can't, because Katakros can't have a command and you want him to be your general.

I have rarely seen anything but huge blocks of mortek guard used. Honestly i've only really seen the same core build used.

This is a problem GW have though. Too many newer releases have seen people zero in on almost singular builds

Yes, a lot of Mortek Guards because they had resilience and damage output thanks to Petrifex, but there were lists with Katakros, Nagash or Liege-Kavalos. There were a nice Deathriders list too. The new lists will be probably less different between them.

Is this a rule? Hexwraiths in the GHB 2020 profiles for legions are 140, whislt in the same book they are 130 for nighthaunt, so I assume they can have different profiles (I hope I'm wrong).

It's faqed that the LoN Hexwraith warscroll is not valid and use the Nighthaunts one instead. Does it apply for points too?

Oh, what I wouldn't give for mortek archers & chariots, plus maybe infantry & monster-riding Liege variants, and of course the bone fortress walls & gate house that were featured in the release promotions...

The OBR release felt important when it first happened, like a big setting change that AoS had been building up to narratively, like something we were just seeing the start of.  It's still too soon to be antsy about an expansion to their range, but I've got high, high hopes that we've only seen the start of the ossiarchs.

I don't think they will realease new models soon, so time to change the lists and adpt the new meta.

Nice list, but sadly Katakros can´t be Petrifex, so some of his abilities won´t work on your units. And I´m not sure if any other units has to take the artifact.

There's no problem about that. He uses his own skill to get the +1 save himself and +1 to hit for everybody, so he will save at 2+ in petrifex after the first ossiarch bonereapers turno. He can´t use the command hability of Petrifex Elite too, but that's not a big problem.

    Greetings.

  17. I was thinking about new lists using Katakros (I don't have the miniature to play with it yet) and I thought about this list:

    Allegiance: Ossiarch Bonereapers
    - Legion: Petrifex Elite

    Leaders
Katakros, Mortarch of the Necropolis (500)
    - General
    Mortisan Soulmason (140)
    - Artefact: Godbone Armour
    - Lore of Mortisans: Empower Nadirite Weapons
    Mortisan Soulmason (140)
    - Artefact: Throne of Dzendt
    - Lore of Mortisans: Drain Vitality

    Battleline
    20 x Mortek Guard (260)
    - Nadirite Blade and Shield
    20 x Mortek Guard (260)
    - Nadirite Blade and Shield
    10 x Mortek Guard (130)
    - Nadirite Blade and Shield

    Artillery
    Mortek Crawler (200)
    Mortek Crawler (200)

    Battalions
    Mortek Shield-corps (120)

    Total: 1950 / 2000
    Extra Command Points: 1
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds: 104
    5 Drops
    8 Command Points per turn
    4 cast/dispel

It's focused in getting a lof ot Command Points (8+ and 2 extra of the batalion skill) and heavy shooting (2x Mortek Crawler). However, I feel I lack bodies on the table. Should I drop 1 Crawler for more Morteks of 5 Deathriders? What do you think about it?

Firstly, people who were disappointed Grimghasts didn’t drop in points? Legions Of Nagash is at fault, it’s the reason they were increased in the first place, they simply perform better in Legions than in Nighthaunt and as such will probably always be punished because of this until/unless Legions goes away.

secondly, with the discussion on Dreadscythes and the points drop, does anyone else think Bladegheists should have dropped too?

Anyways, they were a good unit one year ago, but they aren't so good for they point cost at this moment.

    Greetings.

  19. I don't think he has the batalion for the extra relic, it's about the extra command point (1-3 per round).

I'm working in some different builds, but I'm a bit stuck because Morteks are so good that it's difficult to drop Morteks for any other unit hahaha.

    Greetings

  20. I'm not sure they will touch Petrifex after the changes in the General's (no stacking especial saves). Anyway, if they change Petrifex, I think they will touch or the +1 save and make it in a different way (ignores rend -1 for example) or they will modify the the extra rend for 1 CP. If they modify one of those things, Petrifex will still be probably the best subfaction. The other Option would be Praetorians with Katakros, but there are a lot of people arguing about him in the lists (they dislike him a lot), so I'm not sure what GW is going to do.
