  1. At a first glance the army seems strong, but I don't think they are anywhere near "Hideously overpowered" The units and army can do a lot, but it makes you pay for it. Putting together a list is pretty tough, you really can't fit in as much as you think you can.
  2. I think Katakros has to be in Mortis Pratoerians, since he has the Keyword right?
  3. Nighthaunt is a pretty great example of power creep, IMO. The army was pretty good when I got into it about a year ago, but now a days it's clearly one of the weakest, if not the weakest, 2.0 tome army. We are now getting a special rule for an army that completely invalidates NH as well.
  4. I said that Destruction is the least popular grand alliance, and I don't think you can objectively dispute that. Ironjawz is popular, but bonesplittaz was not, and nothing else in the range until Gloomspite was popular in AoS either. I also played WHFB, and Orcs and Gobbos were never one of the most popular factions either. Daemons, High Elves, Dark Elves, Vampire Counts were always at the top of popularity. When the new Ogre tome came out, it easily eclipsed O&G as well. Orcs and Gobbos were not a fringe army like Wood elves and Tomb Kings, but they were not one of the most popular either. They were solidly in the middle of the pack.
  5. This is still Orruks with a twist or a theme though, and again I don't really think GW would think it's worth the investment over a new destruction concept or expanding the exiting Orruk range. We have to be realistic here, and understand that destruction is the least popular grand alliance, likely by a significant margin, and it's going to affect GW's risk appetite for expansions. While Gloomspite and soon to be Warclans and Mawtribes has breathed new life into the grand alliance and brought in lots of new blood, it is still the most risky of the ranges to work on. With that in mind, another Orruk faction is likely a non-starter for the moment. We also know from several retailer sources that most of the revenue from the factions is the initial launch. With all this taken into account, It is much more likely we will see a brand new concept for a destruction rather than another version of the Orruks.
  6. I just don't see this happening. I don't see why GW would take the risk of this, when they could expand the IJ, which are already incredibly popular or the bonesplittaz. I honestly don't really think a regular Greenskinz style with a small twist being all that popular when we already have IJ and bonesplittaz. While I can accept Gloomspite as a counterpoint, I would add that Gloomspite was pretty unique, and it was also a medley of combining many old units together. It also focused more on Goblins rather than Orruks. Since all the regular greenskinz stuff is no longer sold and likely squatted, it's even less likely we see something. I think it is far more likely that we will see a new destruction faction and updates to the existing lines rather than seeing a generic greenskinz style with a small theme. I could be wrong here, but logically I think this is the most likely outcome.
  7. I would not bet on this. GW really seems to be moving away from the "Normal" style units. If normal Greenskins were going to be added back, it would be in the Orruk tome.
  8. Yeah me too. My gut feeling is we won't start getting stuff until halfway through October though
  9. Looks like it. I have to admit that Salamander character is Ace though!
  10. Anyone else not a fan of the Kurnothi models? I have a Sylvaneth army, and these guys just really don't do it for me. Which is unusual, as I have liked most everything that AoS and Shadespire has put out.
  11. I am curious myself how they are going to change up the Morghasts warscrolls with the new tome. While they are somewhat effective now, they are a bit boring. I am of the opinion that they are going to get a major warscroll change in the new book. I at least hope so. I would not advise anyone to purchase them until after the new tome is out, for sure. Right now the superior configuration seems to always be the Harbingers+halberds. The 5+ mortal wound save isn't enough to really keep them around. You have to make use of them quickly, and they need to do a lot of damage so it's always the Harbingers. The extra reach is also preferred because these are pretty big models and bases. it's not worth the risk of not getting in your attacks. TLDR: Halberds and Harbingers, because they are a glass cannon and you want to get them in fast and deal as much damage as possible.
  12. Yeah, I don't think anyone here is complaining. I just didn't know if there was a reason he had not updated in a while. This makes a lot of sense. I hope LLV comes back, as this was a huge resource for tracking the meta and lists!
  13. All, Sorry if this is the wrong place for this, but as anyone noticed that the honest wargamer hasn't updated it's stats section for a few months now? Did something happen, or am I missing something? It feels like the site hasn't been updated in a while.
  14. This actually makes a ton of sense, and I could totally see this being the case.
  15. I agree, I think the only thing we are getting from the main LoN tome is going to be Morghats, Arkhan and maybe Nagash.
  16. I imagine Morghasts will be available as a choice no matter what the army composition. The only characters I see affected by that could be Arkhan and maybe nagash. I am hoping this tome goes more the FEC and 2.0 tome route with the various Courts or whatever they will be called in this case, and does not follow the NH style where you are stuck with just one.
  17. I am guessing that the Halberd version will have a longer reach, since they have halberds. I am hoping the shields also do more than just something static. It would be nice to have something static+ maybe adding a bonus to LoS or something? That would be cool. I am curious if the blender version will have the two armed option for the whole squad as well. I would like that, as more options are always welcome!
  18. I really like the Halberd variation, but I wonder if it is going to be worth it over taking the sword variation. I really want to get a look at some of the rules!
  19. I think something Blood focused would be the way to go. Blood endless Spells, Crimsion Knights, and mechanics revolving around lifestealing would be really cool, I think, as well as maybe a t heme of darkness and night. Could Incorporate Nightmares and other style Night horrors. In tradtional GW naming, we could call this the Sanguinic Blood Nox Tribunal
  20. I am a bit surprised nobody has translated up the Bonetithe Nexus rules. Granted, it may just be too difficult to make out anything.
  21. I tend to flit from army to army, so what I do is make sure that I come back to an army multiple times before I decide that I actually really want it. As of right now that put me at Nighthaunt, Stormcast, Tzeentch and Sylvaneth. Tzeentch was an easy choice, since I have an extensive collection of Thousand Sons and Tzeentch Daemons. It did not take much to get them AoS ready. That being said, I am pretty sold on the Bonereapers. I also have a Necron and Tyranid 40k army, so the aesthetic hits home for me. I also enjoy the overall look of the Death armies, and how everything endtimes forward fits together really well. I will probably take my time with this army though. I rushed into Nighthaunt when I should have waited a bit, because I loved the look of the army. This led to some poor purchasing decisions, that I'd like to avoid this round.
  22. I am going to be picking them up as my second Death army anyway, so it would be nice if allies is available. They will likely be my standin for Death until our Ghosts get fixed anyway, which may be a long time. The nice thing is I am a big fan of the models. I have a Necron 40k Army, and these guys fit right in there. It sucks, but it's pretty clear at this point that we have the worst 2.0 battletome. I also don't think things are going to get fixed until Nighthaunt units are only allies to the other Death factions. LoN being able to take Grimghasts really hurt our most viable unit in the most recent round of points changes.
