  1. Copy pasting from my channel's latest Facebook post: I'm back to testing out Mortals, and last night I took this spin out for a spin against Grand Host of Nagash! His list (from memory, don't remember what his last 40 points...maybe another endless spell? He didn't cast any of them during the game though): Allegiance: Grand Host of Nagash Leaders Wight King with Black Axe (120) - General - Trait: Lord of Nagashizzar - Artefact: Balefire Lantern Vampire Lord on Zombie Dragon (440) - Deathlance & Shield & Chalice - Lore of the Vampires: Vile Transference Mannfred Mortarch of Night (380) - Lore of the Dead: Amaranthine Orb (Vampires) Vampire Lord (140) - Mount: Nightmare - Lore of the Vampires: Vile Transference Battleline 10 x Dire Wolves (140) 40 x Skeleton Warriors (280) - Ancient Spears 30 x Grave Guard (360) - Wight Blades & Crypt Shields Endless Spells / Terrain / CPs Suffocating Gravetide (20) Prismatic Palisade (30) Extra Command Point (50) Total: 1960 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 1 My List: Allegiance: Khorne - Slaughterhost: The Goretide Mortal Realm: Aqshy Leaders Daemon Prince of Khorne (160) - General - Trait: Hew the Foe - Artefact: Thronebreaker's Torc Bloodstoker (80) Bloodsecrator (120) - Artefact: Thermalrider Cloak Slaughterpriest (100) - Blood Blessing: Killing Frenzy Slaughterpriest (100) - Blood Blessing: Bronzed Flesh Aspiring Deathbringer (80) - Goreaxe and Skullhammer Battleline 10 x Blood Warriors (200) - Goreaxe & Gorefist - 1x Goreglaives 10 x Blood Warriors (200) - Goreaxes - 1x Goreglaives 5 x Blood Warriors (100) - Goreaxe & Gorefist 20 x Bloodreavers (140) - Meatripper Axes 10 x Bloodreavers (70) - Meatripper Axes Units 5 x Skullreapers (180) - Daemonblades - 1x Soultearers 1 x Chaos Warshrine (160) - Blood Blessing: Brazen Fury Battalions Bloodmad Warband (160) Endless Spells / Terrain / CPs Hexgorger Skulls (40) Wrath-Axe (60) Extra Command Point (50) Total: 2000 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 2 Notice how the Daemon Prince has popped up in here? He's definitely part of the experiment here, and man am I pleased with what he does! There's also a few things other modules in here, with my favorite being the SUPER FIRE AND FORGET SLEDGEHAMMER that is 20 Meatripper Axe Bloodreavers. With this battalion and wholly within 16" of the Thermalrider Cloak Bloodsecrator, each Bloodreaver is putting out 4 attacks, re-rolling everything, thanks to the Warshrine warscroll prayer and being whipped by the Bloodstoker. I had them deal 45 WOUNDS to a blob of 40 Skeleton Warriors at the start of the game. See the attached pic. I demonstrated how you can have "2nd rank" fighting capabilities for 32mm models which requires finesse placement in my using the Murderhost video, but the second pic is a quick example of the type of placement required. The other things I've learned from this game are: - The Daemon Prince is absolutely staying. He does exactly what I expected he would and he does so much damage it's incredible. His Malefic Talon being a flat 3 damage is so scary to characters that it's incredible. - Knowing how to use your Blood Tithe is INCREDIBLY crucial. Misusing Blood Tithe cost me the game, see below: At the top of 3, the option for Brass Skull Meteor was actually here. I could have used it to finish off his Wight King that was behind the Grave Guard, he was on 1 after being Blood Boiled. The Wight King was his General who he needs on the table in order to bring back his skeleton mob. Instead of using the Meteor, I opted to have the Skullreapers fight in his hero phase...but there was only 2 left, and they were only doing 8 attacks. It wasn't worth it. If I used the Meteor, that would have most likely killed his Wight King, shut down a lot of the offensive output of the Grave Guard, remove their Deathless save, and prevent him from bringing back the 40 man Skeleton Warrior blob (This is my 3rd game against Legions of Nagash, so the importance of their Heroes hasn't completely sunk in yet). This is why we play practice games! I also have some script rewriting to do on the Blood Tithe table video after learning this about the Meteor. - I'm normally not too sure what Blood Blessing to give the Warshrine, but for this game I opted to test out Brazen Fury as in the past I've had issues with Bravery before. Putting this on the SUPER FIRE AND FORGET SLEDGEHAMMER brought back memories of the previous book's Bloodreavers. It also came into play to hold down the Vampire Lord on Zombie Dragon with Gorefist Blood Warriors. This Blood Blessing is staying!
  2. I started playing WHFB with Warriors of Chaos when that was still a thing, I still have that army. Then these resculpts pop up, I am INSTANTLY in love. Looks like my second army has been chosen for me!
  3. @Troll.exe Did you space out the Wrathmongers at max coherency? I hadn't thought about stringing them out in a straight line perpendicular, it feels strange too since it's a weird congo line lol.
  4. For those of you that use Bloodcrushers/Skullcrushers consistently, how are you deploying/using them? Are you using them as a second wave to ensure that you have the unit not lose any models to maximize the mortal wounds on the charge? Or are you using them as a first wave to shove straight in immediately and to let the rest of the army catch up to the unit? I'm having issues using either unit and I feel it might be because I'm too hesitant on getting them into combat too early, so I'm curious on how others are using these units.
  5. @Agent of Chaos It sounds like you used the Bloodhost to be a catch-all battalion just to ensure getting down to 2 drops and no other reasoning, is that right? What Slaughterhost did you use?
  6. Great to hear! There's a crazy amount of cross references required but it's amazing to see all of it work within the rules. For the curious, I compiled my breakdown on how I believed we were playing Reapers of Vengeance wrong because we were playing the Slaughterhost’s command ability, Leave None Alive, as if only Heroes were allowed to use it, which you can find on my YouTube channel's Facebook page here:
  7. I totally get that, as the following from the core rules from pg 228 of the big rulebook: Can be read in such a way. What's great about this specific clause is it's essentially a list check. The term "army" is actually defined on pg 226 of the big rulebook, I bolded the specific part I'm referring to:
  8. Because all Daemon models in a Reapers of Vengeance Slaughterhost get the command ability when they get the Reapers of Vengeance keyword. From pg 70 of the battletome (bolded for emphasis by me): Leave None Alive also does not check for a Daemon Hero, only a Daemon model (bolded for emphasis by me): Saying that you must measure all command abilities from a Hero is not correct. The Command Ability itself states whether or not it needs a Hero to be "the source" (meaning when the command ability is used, to measure from a specific Hero), otherwise the Gavespawn command ability from Beasts of Chaos wouldn't work as from my understanding Gavespawn Chaos Spawns have no way of gaining the Hero keyword, or the Hammers of Sigmar command ability to bring back units on a 5+ wouldn't work, or the Sylvaneth Ironbark command ability would not work.
  9. @Blisterfeet It really depends on the unit. Small units (ie 5 models) of Blood Warriors don't really do much, 10 models is a lot better since you'll get access to the Goreglaive. The main issue is that our infantry units are on 32mm's or larger, which hurts a lot with all of the wholly within buff bubbles that we have. This is what I follow as a rule of thumb: - No more than 10 models in a Blood Warriors unit. - No more than 20 models in a Bloodreavers unit. 10 is ideal as a fire and forget missile. - No more than 20 models in a Bloodletters unit (although there are some reasons why you'd want to go to 30). - No more than 6 models for Skullcrushers/Bloodcrushers. - No more than 5 models for Flesh Hounds, Skullreapers or Wrathmongers.
  10. @Troll.exe I've been digging through other battletomes and I found that Beasts of Chaos Gavespawn and Sylvaneth Ironbark have command abilities tied to their equivalent of Slaughterhosts with the same exact wording as how our Slaughterhosts work (ie all units gain the associated keyword and therefore gain all the abilities tied to the Slaughterhost). I'm comfortable with saying this is legal." EDIT: Also keep in mind that Blood Warriors do damage when they die too (well, only in the combat phase), which will definitely skew the math in their favor.
  11. Let me make a clarification: I am not suggesting that you don't need a Hero in your list period to use command abilities, that's very clear cut (besides, that'd be a rather weak list). What I'm saying is that you don't need to measure Leave None Alive from a Daemon Hero, only a Daemon model.
  12. I have a feeling I might have been playing Reapers of Vengeance wrong this entire time. Specifically, with Leave None Alive and it not requiring to measure from a Hero in order to use it. Here's my reasoning: There is no restriction that only Heroes can use command abilities, only where you check the source of the command ability. This is covered with: Designer's Commentary, pg 4, right column, first question. Q: Some command abilities refer to a model ‘using’ a command ability. What does this mean exactly? A: It means that when you use the command ability, you must pick that model as the one that the command ability is measured from. In the core rules, the model that a command ability is measured from is the model that is using that command ability pg 228 of the core rules. Under Command Abilities, first sentence. "If you have any HEROES in your army, you can use command abilities." What are considered the "core command abilities" are also all listed and clearly state they must be measured from a HERO. Leave None Alive has no condition that you measure from a HERO, only a DAEMON model. pg 80 of the Blades of Khorne battletome, under Command Ability. Leave None Alive: Fluff text removed "You can use this command ability at the start of the combat phase. If you do so, pick 1 friendly REAPERS OF VENGEANCE DAEMON unit wholly within 8" of a friendly DAEMON model with this command ability. After that unit has fought in the combat phase for the first time, if it is within 3" of an enemy unit it can immediately make a pile-in move and then attack with all of the melee weapons it is armed with for a second time." Please help me find a restriction because if it's legal, this is absolutely game changing for us. EDIT: Added clarification written after @Troll.exe's post.
  13. He does 7, not 8. Copy pasting from: pg 8 of the Core Rules Designer's Commentary ( https://www.warhammer-community.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/age_of_sigmar_core_rules_designers_commentary_en-1.pdf ) states:"ABILITIES1. Q: If two abilities affect a value, and one adds a modifier to the value and the other either multiplies or divides the value, do you apply the modifiers before or after multiplying or dividing the value?A: Apply the modifiers after multiplying or dividing the value."And also on the same page:2. "Q: If several abilities are triggered at the same time (at the start of a hero phase, for example), how do you determine the order in which they are used?A: If several abilities can be used at the same time, the player whose turn is taking place uses their abilities first, one after the other, in any order they desire; then the player whose turn is not taking place uses their abilities, one after another, in any order they desire. The same principle applies to any other things – such as command traits or artefacts of power – that can be used simultaneously. Note that abilities used at the start or the end of a phase still count as being used in the phase in question."The second question here is the key one as Daemonforged Axe and Gorecleaver proc at the same time.So you can choose to have Daemonforged Axe go off first, which sets the damage value of that attack to 3. Gorecleaver then goes off, which doubles the damage value to 6. You then finally add 1 to this damage as following the first question.
  14. If you do go with Bloodglaives I highly recommend that you list build around them as they desperately need an accuracy buff of sorts. Killing Frenzy would be the easiest to apply to them since it's coming on Slaughterpriests who we already take, and the buff range is huge. Bloodglaives are really sad when they have to hit on 4's. EDIT: Also keep in mind other units that require the same buffs that Skullcrushers want. I had a list where multiple units wanted the same Blood Blessings going on the Skullcrushers (I was taking Bronzed Flesh and Killing Frenzy), and they weren't doing that well without the Blessings. For example, don't take a lot of Bloodreavers in the same list ( 1 unit of 10 to fulfill a battalion should be all you should take), or anything else that natively hits on 4's.
  15. I just uploaded my overview on General's Handbook 2019 and why I believe this year's battleplans allow us to score much easier than before. Check it out here:

  17. In between videos I do a lot of painting, last night I revisited Skulltaker and finished him. Tried a few new things and dig the end result
  18. @CommissarRotke Is right on the money. Only you, yourself, can determine if the time spent on the production process for videos and being consistent about it is right for you. I'm on my second channel for wargaming, first being during Warmachine and Hordes's peak, and the other is focused on Blades of Khorne. I've learned that you spend a lot of time getting videos ready than you do actually recording the video itself.
  19. And that's exactly what I covered in the latest Storm of Blood: EDIT: Also, @kozokus, I played a test Bloodmad Warband list, this time with 2x5 Wrathmongers and deployed them aggressively; they were one of the first units I deployed and then formed the rest of the army around them. This was much, much more noticeable and they were relevant most of the game. I suggest trying that next time you play.
  20. Thanks for the feedback! I put in Karanak for the reasons mentioned in the video and the fact that I don't have a second unit of Wrathmongers....yet. Finally ordered a second unit just yesterday. I also personally have issues with deploying my Wrathmongers properly and they hang too far back as a result. How did you deploy yours? I do agree that Rejoice in the Slaughter with Leave None Alive is crazy against Slaanesh since with you being able to dictate the order of who fights who, the Locus of Diversion doesn't really matter since the Keepers can't strike first as they're not within 3" when they'd want to do so! I keep Bronzed Flesh for the Skulltaker craziness also mentioned in the video. He has no business staying around for that long with that combo, but he totally does XD
  21. Part 2 of looking at the Murderhost is now live! Check it out here:
  22. Hello everyone! Part 2 of the Murderhost on Storm of Blood, my YouTube channel, is LIVE! Check it out here:
  23. Hello everyone! I have thrown my hat back into the wargaming YouTube world and have launched my new channel, Storm of Blood, yesterday afternoon. It's focused completely on Blades of Khorne and will have tacticas and battle reports. The first video is up, which you can watch here: Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated.
  24. Hey everyone, After simmering in the background and not posting as much as I usually do, I finally launched my YouTube channel focused on our favorite bloodthirsty madmen. The channel is called Storm of Blood; I released the first video yesterday afternoon, which you can check out here:
