  1. Yes, absolutely. But if almost all military actions happen via realm gates (and as far as I'm aware, there aren't all that many), they'd all be fortified positions (think Cadia in 40k) and pretty much them (or the garrisons) and their surroundings would be the "hot spots" of the setting, with the vast rest of the realms (something I find worse than properly defined, smaller realms - the main point I'm actually arguing) being more or less uninteresting on a global scale unless an invasion bears fruit and army X just rampages through another realm (then they wouldn't care for those locations either though). I'm not sure if dividing realms between major factions is all that practical either. It isn't all that logical in my sight and frankly only supports gigantic forces clashing into each other, as a smaller raiding party would - in a setting where they thought about the consequences - simply be destroyed on the other side of the realm gate thus making travel via realm gates uninteresting. I just don't see how gigantic realms are a tangible bonus and as far as I'm aware, people like the already well-defined spots in AoS best. But to each their own, it's not like it stops me from enjoying AoS, I just think that narratively it's not a strong choice and only sounds cool on paper. I just see a couple of gigantic realms that each should house lots of locations not really comparable to the idea of stars in 40k, where they can cherry-pick destinations much easier which in a way that reduces the overall vastness (emptiness) and thus make the setting compelling. But in time these things will be better defined too, AoS is still young.
  2. Yeah, if their writing is up to it (so far it really isn't). Two times our Earth is gigantic enough for everything to be in there. Hell, pretty much all of WHFB fit into Europe and the setting was much better (to be fair, it had 20+ years to become better though, AoS will have much a better setting in 20 years too...). I don't see the point in having a few significant places and lots of undefined fluff (not the background info kind this time) around them in a fantasy setting TBH. Usually a proximity in location leads to war and unlike futuristic settings where space travel is an easy option, most factions can't just beam themselves where they want to. So yeah, the current setting is a better base for hiking than war. Personally I think less is more.... especially if less is made to be more. I have no doubt it'll get there one day but I'd rather have a couple The Old World's "Europe"-sized realms with a bit of undefined territory to let those that really need to be so creative their stuff can't fit into the rest of the game have room for it.
  3. Agreed, I'd totally like to see some factions changing GAs (I also like the Idoneth suggestion for Death). I find the whole Grand Alliance thing a dumb oversimplification anyways. I mean, Grand Alliance Chaos? Sounds already weird and they and Death arguably make the most sense. Yes, they can form alliances, even grand ones but it's not happening often usually. And Nagash might be cool and all but they really need more driving forces than just him IMO. Order has factions in it that don't really feel all that similar and Destruction feels like the "other" GA, added cause they already had 3. I like when forces operate independently but I figure it's down to the somewhat endless realms (they already went a bit back on that idea, it was a bad starting point for the narrative in a very particular way IMO, really - I do like the interconnected realms but ultimately it would've been much better to make them smaller - all of them equaling two times the size of Earth would already be gigantic) and thus the need to have some kind of overall driving forces... Personally I believe the endless realms will become "smaller and smaller" in time so that more locations and characters gain significance and the big bads will enforce less of their will (e.g. Death gaining more dramatis personae than basically just Nagash). Perhaps then the Grand Alliances will be slowly done away with too.
  4. It's funny, not even their grand alliance wants those two. Gotta sting.
  5. That's just Chaos Beastmen with extra steps!
  6. Yeah of course we all can wait.... and obviously we have to keep the realities behind producing them also in mind. I fully agree with you.... BUT at this point it feels strange that Skaven (Seraphon, Beastmen, Cities of Sigmar and a smattering of others) so far got pretty much nothing and they really need it since the day AoS got first introduced - I know they might get their time to shine in the Old World but frankly that feels way too late when other armies (even completely new ones) got a couple of waves at that point. It might just reveal my age but I liked how back when i was a teenager, every month had unit releases for different armies instead of bigger waves. It feels like right now the whole self-fulfilling prophecy mechanic is becoming more tangible than ever - of course almost nobody new right now buys into Skaven or Seraphon. Or a tiny new force like Fyreslayers that consists of a couple of kits. And obviously people will buy armies that got lots of new kits. But it's far from an ideal state. I'm really thankful for the new Curseling (I love the old one (love the new one too!) but only got him in Finecast and I hate Finecast with a passion, Khorne and Palpatine would be proud of such hatred) but it would be better if T and L got no new box and instead they tried to bring other forces closer to their selection... if not bring out something for the armies that got nothing so far. These boxes with a single new model are very annoying, it would be cooler to make more stuff like the Start Collecting Salves to Darkness one. Imagine how Fyreslayers, Skaven, Seraphon, Ogors would eat those up!
  7. The only Lumineth I want are casualties for my bases/scenery! 😈 Anyways, I hope huge waves at this point are finally reserved for armies that desperately need them.
  8. Most trolling - I’d be takING this personal - they could do is bring out more Lumineth while getting Tzeentch fans‘ hopes up with the flame and „bird“ skull… might just be fire lumineth and the skull is maybe a dragon skull for said fire temple. But you know, then it would be settled, the only armies in AoS that need lots of new kits regularly are apparently Lumineth and SC… 😝
  9. We already got that though Cypher Lords are from Hysh and in the White Dwarf article they were in clearly stated them to be Tzeentchians... (I mean, just take a look at them).
  10. The pillar looks very much like the ones that used to imprison Slaanesh. So Hysh-ian in nature. Also, I clearly see Tzeentchian symbols there but I really can't be taken for full when it comes to that, I'll be happy to praise a salt shaker if it's got the right shape. It might be some form of geometric tactical "rock" that a new Fatemaster's disc is attached to? That's my first guess for it... Could also be dedicated army terrain.
  11. You’re a genius! 😂 It fits so well… Nagash would be a whail. You know, perhaps you should shill your idea to GW. Even HODL gets a new meaning. Ok, I‘m done, I‘ve used all the terms I know.
  12. Well, looks like it‘s very late payback for them stealing so much from 40k…. Erm, I mean taking so much inspiration from it. It‘s kinda fair. I really like Protoss though, way more than Eldar, so they‘ve at least done some cool things with it and I enjoy both 40k and SC. I think that they‘ve put a dwarf into that suit‘s design makes it look even more like something from Blizz than if they would‘ve put a GW human in it. Anyways, I like the new stuff. It is generic but so are Stormcast for example and yet there are quite a few cool minis in that range. I hope that fans of stunties will find more stuff they like in future reveals.
  13. Picking one is impossible, it's like picking a favorite song. Edit: But, if I get to name a couple, I'd say Rockgut Troggoths, Eltharion, the Crimson Court, the new skeletons and Bastian Carthalos. If I go by my own guys, then Gaunt Summoner on foot. He's probably my favorite AoS mini. Lord of Change and both old and new Curselings are up there as well. And I probably forgot like 10 I'd like to name too.
  14. Oh, what a cute little friend! 🥰 My top 3 kits would also be something out of Skaven or Seraphon. Two really cool armies that have waited waaaaaaaaaay too long for cool updates.
  15. Well, the Egyptian look is definitely cool, don't get me wrong, I got an army of Thousand Sons after all and the first rubric Marine made me fall for Tzeentch - I'm just saying that it was never really a part of Fantasy's Tzeentch look (or Tzeentch in general, the only Tzeentch worshippers in 40k to be Egyptian-influenced were 1k Sons). I do like how they keep mixing all these various influences over the years together though, although I guess the overtly Persian/ME design cues got snatched up by Slaanesh now. I really hope we'll get a mortal elite unit in the style of the Curseling. i know that cool Chosen are coming for STD but seeing how all other Gods got their own variant of Mortal elites, I hope we'll follow as that is frankly the only thing that's really missing from our army. The Old World will definitely bring forth some cool stuff, I hope some new Tomb Kings for you as well.
  16. The Egyptian look used to be something entirely Thousand Sons-specific, it never really was Tzeentch-specific as the older Tzeentch sculpts had none of it before Jes Goodwin's first Rubric Marine. Tzeentch usually had huge horns (often irregular, like much of the armor albeit the first Tzeentch marines were truly weird anyways, looked a lot more random than what came later) and bunny ears like Khorne (more curved and slender though and mostly in the artwork). I was surprised that the adept from the Silver Tower Kairic Acolytes or the Cypher Lords went a bit into the 1k Sons territory/design language to be honest. Not even the curved details were there from the start on Tzeentch armor (e.g. Egrimm Van Horstmann). I think it very slowly grew in that direction when they repurposed the dark elf champion to become Aekold Helbrass, who I think was the first "Tzeentch" sculpt with very curved trim. The Tzeentch designs mostly lost the fish details, scales/scale-mail were a big part, although there are still remnants (e.g. the loincloth).
  17. Perhaps there's a Warhammer discord group in your region? I just found someone to split the box in mine. It's worth a try I figure.
  18. What's extremely lame however is that once again the mini is locked behind buying a ton of minis I don't want/need, especially another army. Can't they just charge more for the hero and be done with it? It's really annoying having to wait for ages... Funnily enough, that helmet is quite similar to my own design. I couldn't be happier with it although i love the old Curseling design as well. Sorry, I'm hyped right now.
  19. Well, the Fatemaster would've been a decent choice as well but I hoped more for a plastic Curseling so I'm happy. Now if only we got a mortal elite unit in that style. I'm greedy. And don't even feel bad for it.
  20. And to add to the discussion: I really don't like that the rules get more complicated, it IMO scares off casual players that still want to use the comp rules.
  21. Don‘t remind me - I hate that Skaven get literally nothing outside of a single mini. I was pleasantly surprised by the cool Slyvaneth stuff but frankly, I can‘t think of many armies that deserve a bigger update like right now… oh well, I‘d only repeat myself at this point but I seriously don‘t get it why some of the most important and iconic(that might actually be a reason) things get treated like trash. Let‘s try to see it in a positive light: at least Cities are being worked on right now and I guess Skaven will drop at the latest with the Old Word… until then, you have my sympathy.
  22. I‘ve already seen people complain about her warscroll, maybe we can preemptively call her „lady of whines“. I‘ve also got some unrelated material to contribute! 😎👍🏻
  23. I think this closer look at the Archaon throwback/CL on daemonic mount wasn't posted... if one gave him the sword of the lord on karkadrak, he'd be very close to the second Archaon mini. I was hoping for a mortal Chosen variant specifically for Tzeentch as all 3 others got them but oh well, the new Chosen will be a decent placeholder indeed. And since they got no capes that would only make Nurgle proud, they'll look fine too. Very thrilled...
  24. I feel likey‘ve reused those Lumineth sculpts in a really good way for the new terrain… I‘d really like to own the temple and beast (that got the swirl from the fox-things)… I really hope they‘ll release those by themselves. Took them like 2 years to finally release the infernal master though, so i‘m not too optimistic.
  25. My favorite thing about the reveals is the unofficial name for the new NH unit… Crossboos
