  1. Hot dog what ? I dont get this pun. So what you want to say is that DB with Slitherwrack is insanely good, and so are regular Bullgors ? But I thought people here said they arent good at all for those points, though at "ideal" they can output high dmg. I am still waiting for my book to arrive at my LGS so that I can dust my beasties off hence I had no chance to test anything yet.
  2. I do wonder if Jabberslythe suddenly and out of nowhere loosing Fly is an oversight or actual intent. Hope its the former and they ammend it with an Errata asap, since the unit is not exactly appealing if it has to walk to where you need it to be (they still seems unsure how or what to do with this critter looking at the changes to its profile).
  3. What about the Drag Ogs, how do those fare with the power of math ?
  4. So about cockatrices: The rules says enemy unit can be affected only once. Is this for the "hits on 6" or for the Mortal Wounds part as well ? Or can you still attempt to nuke things with multiple of them rolling for those MW ? The change to hit for enemies doesnt stack I know. Hell it might be too good regardless. It would be fine even if it was just on 5+ instead of 6+. Hope when/if they nerf this they dont completely remove or neuter it.
  5. Agree. The entire way the army is played has been changed into something untested yet, and then they slapped massive price increases on almost all existing stuff, while nerfing a lot and improving little. Frankly all of this is because how stupidly OP they made Herdstone in that WD update. But instead of fine tuning it to be less powerful they not only nerfed herdstone itself, they also nerfed global rend for many of our units as well as jumped the prices up. Not saying the new book is all bad, but its a far cry from what I was hoping for. Funny enough, ranged attack on Centigors is one of the small things I was hoping for and we got that haha. To bad they completely gave us the middle finger as far as new miniatures go. The Centigors, Shaggoth and Razorgors are way overdue, and the rest of the sculpts while still holding strong could use some dynamic reposing and uplifting like what they did with STD basic warriors.
  6. I am anxious to see how the book turned out. If a competent person got to write it (please be the one who did Ogres...) we can be in for a treat. Coz the herdstone WD buff was nice and all, but I want better units, better army synergy, some new multi kits (Gors and Centigors with throwing weapons for example). Anything to make the army flow better. But not once in my 12 years with Beastmen have I seen that. The current book was "ok" but got guickly out performed by the later releases. We`ll see if its gonna bejust a copy pasta with new pictures and cover art when we look at the Dragon Ogors and whether those have been updated to be in line with the current Ogor stat line (so minimum dmg 2 on their weapon profiles). New model for Shaggoth with updated profile is well over due by this point as well. Wishful thinking but it would be nice if they re introduced Kolek Sun Eater to BoC. New, big beefy model with a greater deamon like profile.
  7. Sounds good. Any changes to either of the mounted versions ? Still hoping Skyfires drop in price, or that there will be a dismounted (and thus cheaper) version of them.
  8. Just hope we are not loosing the Tzaangor units that we currently have. I think by this point a lot of BoC players invested good chunk of money into Tzaangor units, so removing them would be rather scummy move by GW, since they would then be relegated to simply proxi regular Gors and Bestigors. In fact we should be getting all the god marked "gors and bulls" present or future, since it makes sense from both business standpoint and lore as well.
  9. Been out of the game for a while (half a year before of 2.0 ended) and have been gettin ready to get back into it lately. So how are you guys feeling about CoS in the current climate? Have some things become better or worse ? From what I saw the shift to 3.0 and how units work and such has not been as catastrophic as for some other factions, though it did invalidate some battlescroll rules for units that relly on huge numbers for them to be active. I`ve already checked the price changes and seems most of our stuff might`ve gotten more expensive, at least at first glance. Looks like the CoS warmachines are still poop. Hoped those get massive drop in points considering how bad they are. I heard our infantry got hit hard since they depend on big numbers, but msu units like Pistolers and such got better. Not sure about if its true or not.
  10. Here is the direct GW link to all the PDF with all the price changes in case anyone wants it at better quality https://www.warhammer-community.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/a3rMwrniHgbY3n3H.pdf
  11. New and I mean NEW, as in completely new, scaled up, beefed up cool looking Shaggoth on a big base with beefy stat line and uptick in points would certainly be nice. These things are supposed to be ancient and extremely powerful. We are talking Greater Demons of Chaos power levels, yet the models are horrendously outdated, and their unit profile is pretty pathetic. What I want is a 250-300 point Shaggoth on 120mm oval base the size of a Carnosaur or whats its name. All beefy, badass and scary looking with profile that actually puts some fear into your opponent. Hard to kill, heavy hitting and can cast magic. Let it be a centerpiece, similarly how the Ogor mammoths are. And as other have mentioned, accompany that release with brand new Centigor double kit (introduce a new type of Centigors. One combat oriented shock cavalry, the other skirmish range of 12" with throwing weapons). New Beastlord thats also up to date, with chariot option as well. And harpies. I could also add Razorgors, but by this point I think everyone already has a much better looking proxi so who cares about them. That ship has sailed long ago. Granted most of our units are from model kits that are 10 years+ old so there is a lot that could use visual uplifting,
  12. With a small unit count list like this I`d be worried about armies with extremely high kill potential like DoK for example. As the number of units and models in those units with this list is rather small small all it takes is one strong enemy turn (not even double turn) and its GG. I think at the very minimum your friend should add in few fast chaff units like Centigors to shield all those DO.
  13. Shaggoth doesnt have the same damage output as a Gorghon. On the other side he doesnt suffer from Wound degradation either and can be upgraded with artifact while as you mentioned do the usual mage and hero stuff. But on the other hand Gorghon can wipe entire unit on its own by devouring a single model and break coherency if your enemy doesnt pay perfect attention to it after every move. I guess the only way to know for sure is to extensively test them against the same enemy list and see how they perform in a controled enviroment with more or less the same enemies.
  14. And also I believe it was capped at Jabbers max Wounds no ? I cant remember, because I havent used this thing for years.
  15. Before the DO and Bullgor price adjustments I would say they are, since they are able to dish lot of attacks with good offensive values thanks to a close by shaman. However with the current prices I think the DO overtook them in that regard, especially when Wound per Points per Attack is considered. I was hoping there is a bit more in the WD update but... thats it... Sigh. My main opponent has Nighthaunt army so all this fancy table wide rend does absolutely nothing for me in those games *crying goat noises* (will just take my CoS against his ghosts instead and reserve BoC against armies that actually can suffer from our improved rending).
  16. Jabber would be pretty solid piece if only its basic attacks were Damage 2. Even while its abilities are still pretty .... poop right now compared to how they used to be, just scaling up its damage would make it that much more useful. Especially with the new Herdstone adding an additional rend. Because when I look at the Jabber I dont see a unit worth 160pts. The current Jabber would be hard sell to me even for 120-100, thats how bad that thing is in my eyes. And I used to love it when BoC for AoS 2 first came out. It was a mostly useless unit but I liked it and it was fun in friendly games despite being really bad for a short time before the post BoC armybook power creep really picked up.
  17. I still remember when I started this hobby. Beastmen were my OG army and I was like "Woah army made of all sorts of Monsters and beastly gribblies?! Cool" ....little did I know that the Beastmen army had less beastly monsters than the Tomb Kings which got updated some time after and more than half of their army roster composed of monsters and monstrous units of all types. *disgruntled snort*
  18. @Lord Krungharr Have you considered 3D printing as a option ? Unless you or the store you play at is "GW only", then you can find some amazing sculpts on sites that showcase STL files. And if you have a friend with a printer (or you can just pay for it online, there are many services that will do it for you) you can get both nice looking and much cheaper proxi instead. And the most important thing is: Its not ilegal like recasting. If thats something that might bother you Example of pretty cool cockatrice STL;
  19. Cygors might not be so bad rn actually. Their shooting is unreliable at best with hitting on 4*, but the fact they can help you generate extra summoning points while also chugging boulders, and scaring of small chaff with that -1 rend in cc as well, they seems like decent option. 2 of them dont cost so much to become to big of a liability I think.
  20. Not sure about that. I dont think they are as viable option as before, when put next to Bullgors and Dragon Ogors. Those two on the other hand have gotten pretty great with their current price tag. Though I still wish Drag Ogs would become a proper 180/200 tanky, scary elite unit their fluff makes them out to be. Kinda sucks for me personally, since they were my favorite "elite" unit and I loved using bunch of them (and I have only 9 bulls and 6 drag ogs build so yeah ). Edit: But I might be completely wrong here, since Brayherd units are really fast, and that extra rend does lend quite a power spike against certain targets. I think MSU bestigors with this will be even scarier since they essentially become possible character/elite/monster assassins. The big blobs though I still think wont stand up next to the other two options.
  21. Ah I thought it was just a neutral -1 Rend to all attacks. Sad goat noises 🙃
  22. I think "overkill" is exactly what we need against garbage like Kragnos with two Ogor tyrants on mammoth lists. That once scary 2+ save turns into butter when Minotaurs get in there. DA will finally feel like a somewhat scary unit with this. But big boys aside.... the small things will benefit greatly from this. Centigors ? Yes please! Angry pigs ? Oink Oink. Ungor Raiders ?! Pew Pew I say! Funny thing will be moments when something big and expensive with high save gets killed by a Warhound pack due to that one point of rend ^^
  23. Well... that herdstone update by its own just helped us level the field a little, so yes, I would say we can be cautiously optimistic about the rest ? Lets see if the update will be substantial enough to bring us up a notch in the current edition without the "overbalanced" stigma that our current armybook has.
  24. Appreciate the pictures but Would you be willing to redo them under better light and instead of the entire page, just a close up on the text itself ? Its nigh impossible to make out anything from them.
  25. February 18th huh... well I guess once I get my dose of dissapointment from that WD BoC release I can go wash it off with the global launch of Lost Ark heh... joking, the servers will be so pack It`ll be a miracle to even get into the game in the first place. Yeah refreshing the line would be nice. Its funny how BoC minis for the most part managed to hold up consistently over a decade and a half. Just shows you how well designed those sculpts were. Now if only they did us justice and we got properly scaled Centigors, new pumbagors, etc (though I think at best we can expect maybe two updated unit model lines and maybe finally a proper BoC Chariot lord ?). Update for the goatboys to be more wild, skirmishy looking in order to loose up on the rank and file look carried over from Old Hammer. And I would really like to get some proper Harpies... although, then again unless we got a proper rules overhaul so that the army can actually be good without resorting to several post launch massive price decreases, I am not really interested in miniatures. But I can see painters and collectors who would love that so for their sake I hope we can get something nice looking that also plays well.
