  1. Might not do much (probably wont... coz GW is out of touch with their players), but there is a petition going on for saving BoC in AoS that you guys might wanna take a look at. https://www.change.org/p/prevent-the-cancellation-of-beasts-of-chaos-faction-in-age-of-sigmar-4e?recruiter=false&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=facebook&utm_campaign=psf_combo_share_initial&utm_term=psf_combo_share_initial&recruited_by_id=cfce2360-f66f-11ee-b89b-11ca09bd65e4&share_bandit_exp=initial-37964685-en-US&utm_content=fht-37964685-en-us%3A8
  2. Sigh.... Why not keep them both ffs... I had to rebase that army once already, and frankly I am not interested in the Old World game mechanics in the slightest to do it all again back to squares. Rank and file square formations and what not. And just when BoC was finally doing good, with a book that was actually competitive for once >__>
  3. So, with Warhammer Old World being back and running, I heard some rumors that BoC will be nuked from future AoS ? Not sure if that is to be believed but what say you ?
  4. Feels like its been inspired by the Hobbit dwarves design. Would also make for a great Dwarven Cleric in D&D
  5. Is this the official confirmation we have been waiting for? If so then phew thank god its 28mm and not 32mm after all.
  6. If the mounted casters at least had the benefits of their foot slogging counterparts, then they might be considered viable. Dragon Sorc with 4+ ward when close to her bodyguards, and Birb Mage being able to take one of the free battlemage upgrades would certainly improve them somewhat. Considering they are 250 and 270 single cast, single dispel preset chosen spell, pseudo fighty but not really models thats the least they could have done for them. Now if they dropped to 180-200 points I guess an argument for including them in a list could be made despite all these limitations. Its baffling that whoever wrote this book didnt consider that these two units had zero play in competitive and probably very little in casual games. Because if clearly nobody is picking them for their games then either the warscroll is lacking, or the price is too high. And to ignore both these issues when moving onto a new book which is the best time to amend any unit as necessary just reeks of lazyness and lack of care.
  7. If we consider that many of the new human infantry type characters are on 32mm, I think its safe to assume the 32mm for most of them and 40mm for the shepard. But yeah I would wait with that. Just as I am already waiting for the Fussiliers... srsly GW should start adding base sizes to the pitched profile page at the end of the book or somewhere on the Warscroll itself. For the Herald I think its one of the many oversights, and probably should be reported to the FAQ team.
  8. Unless you are playing at official GW store, or plan to go to official GW tournaments, then I would suggest looking into 3D printing. Just the price itself makes it worth, plus you`ll often times than not find amazing looking minis, that are great supplement to your existing army to add more spark of flavor. I saw some pretty sick looking steam tank variants. One of which was the old style Estalia...or Tilea ? No idea but it was basically a ship hull with giant wheels. Lot of details on it as well. 3D printing has come such a long way in those last few years you can hardly believe the quality some 3D artists are able to produce. Edit: Just to show few examples of the best looking ones (including a Ctulhu themed one)
  9. Yeah I remember that one. I believe in the old Warhammer Fantasy The Empire battletome they even had a mechanical pidgeon bomb as a hero artifact. "Hrrrkuuu Hrrrkuuu Hrrrkuuu BOOOM!" I dont know what they were thinking with the Gyro nerf. Taking away 1 weapon profile so its one or the other, and then also nerfing their speed so they no longer even work as objective grabbers, very uncalled for. No idea who made these decisions and why. As they are now they should be 50pts a piece honeslty. Gyrobombers should be 80pts to be viable (and maybe somewhat fun).
  10. Would be interesting. Reminds me of "Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends" PC game, where the human faction had arcano-steam tech. Clockwork soldiers, Steam golems, etc. But seeing how with the Dawnbringers CoS got a technological downgrade I wouldnt bet much on it tbh. But how cool would it be to have a steam golem carry the Fussil Major instead of an Ogor!
  11. That makes the unit that much better in my eyes. I was worried about this aspect and planned to ask once the book is out, but I guess I got my answer before that The negative of this though is they will have to keep coherency, so no putting individual members where they are needed the most. Bummer. But it was clear they were going for that 40K IG Commander with retinue thing here so I should have expected that.
  12. Wait, but they are single entities. That means for wound distribution each of them has their own 3W pool no ? Because if thats the case then its not correct to look at them as a 18W unit, since you cant just remove which ever one of them once wounds start comming in to preserve the more important members. Or am I getting it confused here ?
  13. Yep yep! Only downside I see is you cant attach them to units so that they become a bit more survivable, since they are single entities with 3W only. Agent and Arch Knight both could make use of that to contribute some damage without getting insta killed right back. The rest is fine just shuffling around as needed. Also... lets not talk about the Fusil Major
  14. Its highly probable its gonna be more than 25mm. Though I hope not 32mm. The footprint it takes is a lot with horde style units, which Fussiliers will no doubt be played as. My reasoning for 28mm was that looking at the assembly sheet I think it was the resupply model, or maybe the one with Marshal that was on 28mm. Neither of which are a unit, rather just a "extra" to show the unit is using a special rule. I guess we`ll see soon enough. Though its annoying that I cant base these guys already so I can start painting them. (I dont wanna glue them to something just to paint and then cut them off to base them later). Anyone recall when was the release for this scheduled on ? End of September or smthn ?
  15. Aaah, good choice! 👍 Majority of my Beast of Chaos Ungors are composed of Frostgrave gnolls!. Double the miniatures in the box for same price. Yes the details are lacking, but good painter can do marvels even without them, and people like me who are fine with just table top level for their horde style units dont really worry about that anyway.
  16. Regimented looks have a charm to them. But mixed regimented looks have their own charm making the army look "alive" on the table. Having a army that looks like its mixed from different clans/tribsr/families/regions makes perfect sense for certain periods. All my infantry units are also visually broken into clans by having 3 different color schemes for armor, and the varried color for the clothing. I encourage anyone who wants to enjoy painting their army in different styles to go for it. It also makes the batch painting far less tedious haha~
  17. Seems like I finally found myself a "Hydra" proxi XD Till now I`ve been using the old LotR Cave Dragon (really nice sculpt), for it, instead of the regular DE Hydra (though I do have one un assembled as well). I wanted something more akin to Yamata no Orochi the Eight Headed Snake. but didnt find a nice or "lean enough" model to fit the bill (and the base). Then I saw this cute critter and was like "Eh, if I cant have eight headed snake, I`ll take the nine tailed fox instead!" ...I can already tell storing and transporting this thing should I get one, will be a chore in and of itself. Edit: Sleeping on it, this might make for a unexpectedly good Tahlia Verda model. Just tinker up a seating and a rider. Hmm choices, choices
  18. You guys being all hype and getting your units ready for some righteous crusading against enemies of Sigmar actually infected me as well. Got 30 Fussiliers primed and drying out. Still unsure what base size they`ll be on release. One of my buddies think they`ll go up to 28mm. Hopefully we`ll find out soon for all the new units. Seeing as characters went up to 32, it very well might be the case, since those shields (og. Fussiliers) are rather bulky.
  19. What about wings ? Do you have some specific in mind for this ? Coz... I am not gonna lie, this thing reminds me of Chocobo for some reason and thats hilarious, so maybe a nice pair of feathered wings as a friendly nod to dinosaur>birds evolution ?
  20. And importantly: Has an inbuilt 18" aura giving charge reroll to all Ordo Serpentis units. Be it knights, Hydras or himself. Not having to spend a CP on that makes it very very nice. The reduction of the dmg to D3 is silly though. And yes its an ugly model in my oppinion too. But there are people who like these classic looking old miniatures so I am not gonna take it away from them. When I was still trying to build up my DoK army, I wanted a Dreadlord ally, and instead opted for that Forge World one, since I got it fairly cheap (considering regular FW prices) second hand. Warpfire Dragon or something like that. My DoK never got finished since then they re introduced BoC and CoS with proper AoS battletomes and thats where my desert themed snek girls (and the dragon) project ended.
  21. Yeah I was looking at him as well. Love that "definitely not anime" model greatly, and it supplements my already Nippon-Cathay themed army. Just a great model to have if you are into that aesthetic. Not sure about the performance since I heard it got nerfed to a degree though. One thing I migh or might not do, depending if I can get a good piece, is replacing the goat-fox helmet head with a actual kitsune head, but at the same time I dont really mind this one either. Maybe just shaving off the horns would be enough. After all I have 3 other Kitsune models that have been patiently waiting their time. Two of which would make for a hilarious Ogre + Fussil Major count as and thus finally see some table (hence one of the reasons why I am so dissapointed just how utterly meh that things warscroll is).
  22. My solution to second shooting block is via allies. 3 Starshard Balistas (Lumineth) are individually very strong, and taking multiple you are getting the 36" range buff. Combined with the reliable profile and low cost at 120 you can easily bring 3 and let them have a go at lonesome priority targets turn 1 without even needing to move. Since they dont require any buffs and even offer a single turn debuff, I believe you should be able to get your points worth back. For those planning to run Greywater this might be a serious pick to consider since our own cannon is overpriced, short ranged and really not that impressive.
  23. Yeah hammerers. That -2 Rend 2 dmg is pretty nice in fact. But they lack command group (not even a unit champion) and dont have any usefull ability on their lonesome, besides the one that requires the Warden King. But I think they could work as a unexpected small hammer (...ah the unintentional pun ) unit. Heck you might use the Soulscream Bridge to get them in there if need to be. At least until we get a Human replacement for Greatswords. I was in fact considering a full squadrom of copters and a Rune Priest with that +1 to hit for missile units. But copters loosing that 4" move did hurt their usability quite a lot. And not being able to take 2 (same with Scourge runners) but either 1-3 is also kinda weird.
  24. Reason why Irondrakes and some other stuff got fundamentally worse is very simple: Its to "gently force" the players away from these old models and subfactions. Eventually phase them out completely, but before that ensure people start using them less and less. I mean the push for HUMAN only keyworded Cities is clear to anyone is willing to look. I`ll just repost this from my last post since now with the discussion about Irondrakes on this makes even more sense and points towards what I just said. Look at the orders where its very obvious: The Castelite one is universal oder and the Counterfire a Human only. That make NO SENSE! In fact it would make perfect sense for the Castelite one to be Human specific and the Counterfire one to be universal, since both the Dark Elves and the Dwarves have plenty of shooting of their own. THAT would make all the sense in fact. But since its not that way you can tell it was either a huge oversight (it would change the dynamic of the 2 subfacitons a lot if they could use this order) or intention to clamp down on them, and make sure people slowly phase them out. Sure it could be an oversight but I believe this is intentional. Just think about the utility of Counter Fire if it was a universal order instead of purely human one. And vice versa, the fact the Castelite one is unusable by anything other than specific human units. I just hope we get ample model replacements. I have good chunk of Dark Elf counts as for my army and would hate to simply shelf them and never use those miniatures again. Keeping my hopes for return of Greatswords, Demis and Pistollers with new models, and some prep for those Dwarf/Delf replacements.
  25. I fail to see why you are quoting me, since I have almost zero contribution to the Blissbarbs-Fussiliers discussion. Hell my very first line in the comment you quoted says that. And no we do not discuss Irondrakes here, because clearly this new books is going back to being a single race focus, in this case HUMAN centric, unlike the preivous one that I enjoyed greatly for being a mixed race "typical Fantasy city". Trust me, I hate it greatly, that all the new stuff is that way here. I was hoping CoS will be the one unique faction in this entire game that has mixed raced mortals fighting against the evils of the world. But as that is clearly not the case you can see how the non human stuff has been treated compared to the humans one. Less orders, less traits, less spells, no new units, and those units got changed, some for better some for worse. Irondrakes before were basically the dwarven version of the Sisters of the Watch. Now they are worse in every aspect than Fussiliers once we factor in all the variable buffs, stat line and what not. If the buffs the new book can do were not all keyworded under "HUMAN" I would be much less salty about the affair of loosing bunch of the units I enjoyed using, since I would still have some fun combos left to do, instead of the very railroaded ones that all revolve around race specific keyword. Hence I dont wish to discuss them. It makes me sad the way the book is going. Edit: Still miffed I cant take bunch of Copters and turn them into Dakkajets with Alchemite and Hurricanum xd A tiny bit of a rant, but with very logical reasoning below Edit 2, this is just a general thing I wanted to talk about before in general: I HATE the inept fool who wrote the orders and made the Castelite one a universal oder and the Counterfire a Human only. That make NO SENSE! In fact it would make perfect sense for the Castelite one to be Human specific and the Counterfire one to be universal, since both the Dark Elves and the Dwarves have plenty of shooting of their own. THAT would make all the sense in fact. But since its not that way you can tell it was either a huge oversight (it would change the dynamic of the 2 subfacitons a lot if they could use this order) or intention to clamp down on them, and make sure people slowly phase them out of their armies, before after loosing Wood and High elves we can sure as hell expect the Dwarves and DElves to go the way of the buffalo in the next book as well. Dwarves might rolled into one huge Duardin coalition while DElves can hope that Malarions faction will be a thing by that point.
