  1. I like the idea of mixed faction battalions better for representing that kind of thing. Like the sylvaneth and stormbros ones.
  2. I always thought it would be cool if you could upgrade regular units using the Underworlds warbands. Like, this unit of skeletons gets upgraded to become the Sepulchral Guard, and the Sepulchral Warden replaces the usual unit champion and can resurrect any of them. Or this unit of thirty Bloodreavers is now Garrek's Reavers, and when he claims trophies he buffs the whole lot. Wouldn't work for all of them, but most of them have a corresponding "regular" unit in AoS. Might be a fun idea for open/narrative play if nothing else.
  3. I don't think as many people would have been interested in a two-army box when one of the factions didn't even have GHB rules. They had to do the Gitz tome first or people would have been buying into the army blind.
  4. Sure, if you want to be all sensible about it, but I thought we were going for rampant speculation here. Besides what if that warband is actually LED BY THE LICHEMASTER? 😮
  5. You know who else wears flayed skin with a face on it? Heinrich Kemmler. He died in the End Times, but not before pledging allegiance to Chaos over Nagash, and there's a few Chaos champions from the World That Was who've turned up in the Mortal Realms... I for one would love a Death faction led by the Lichemaster in defiance of Nagash.
  6. If they've showed off minis in the trailer, I could see them being put out on display in a cabinet at Adepticon and some better static pics put up online. My money's on more Forbidden Powers info.
  7. The one on the left looks like a flayed face, and I'm pretty sure the one on the right is Thulsa Doom. 😉
  8. Bolded that last bit for emphasis. I've seen a few people on FB making complaints about the lack of variety compared to Mordheim; they're either forgetting or are ignorant of how narrow the focus of those initial warbands was. At launch, we had humans, hairy humans, rich humans, religious humans, differently religious humans, Chaos humans, undead humans, and Skaven. All of those Empire factions made sense, because the game was set in the ruins of an Empire city, just like Warcry is set in a Chaos wasteland. It was through Town Cryer that we eventually got rules for so many warbands in Mordheim, and there's a good chance we'll see the same for Warcry in White Dwarf.
  9. I think the least likely part of that rumour is new plastic dwarf warriors. Much more likely they'll retire the current kit and leave Hammerers and Ironbreakers kits as the sole troops boxes.
  10. You're making a big assumption about what they mean by "races". Could just as easily be taking about human ethnicity.
  11. I think the interesting thing to take away from the Stormvault game is that it's clearly something to do with all four of the Chaos gods judging by the cards at the front of the picture - which gives some indication that Chaos may play a big part in the Forbidden Powers expansion, probably tying in with Warcry and a Darkoath and/or Slaanesh release.
  12. I could actually see this being way more focused on narrative play. Consider that Underworlds is 100% focused on competitive, matched play - it's already there for people who want a tight, balanced, tournament-friendly game - meanwhile Path to Glory is no longer in print, and out of date with the new edition of AoS, so this could be the perfect thing to replace it as an entry-level narrative campaign system.
  13. Honestly I could see them just dropping the warriors and thunderers/quarrelers. Longbeards, Hammerers, and Ironbreakers already look great as the basis for an army of armoured Dwarf infantry, just the same as the Irondrakes are an impressive-looking missile unit. Most battletomes don't have more than that many options for infantry. I think purely from a design standpoint, there's not much to be added to the look of the army by making new kits for the basic Dwarf grunts.
