  1. There are some pretty solid combos and units in the book. -Nurgle banner on anything with a 3+ save (which is conveniently all the things that take the banners) gives a 3+ ignore rend -1. Put it on 20 warriors on an objective and I'm not sure what can get them off it. -legion of the first prince + demon prince gets you whichever demon prince ability you need that turn? Turn off wards to fight the Phoenix guard, get the teleport spell to save something, or the khorne one to heal up. -khorne knights+sorc lord. Unit of 5 gets 20 attacks at 3+/2+/-2/2, for an average of 10ish damage into even a 2+ save. Could also give them the 6+ ward and mystic shield if you'd prefer them to be very tanks - archeon. By himself. Just archeon. A 1 man army. With his new wounds and saves and healing he'll be so hard to bring down -battleline furies. These guys are already very annoying and if they don't change much battleline 12 wounds for 90pts is a steal. Several units of expert conquerers will be everywhere to take objectives while your hammers go hammering. I think one type of list will be a few units if cultists or furies or marauder horsemen to do objectives and then 2-3 bigger units to go do the fighting, maybe knights or warriors or varanguard, plus a few little heroes to support.
  2. The hammerers seem like they have legs. 3+ save ignore up to tend 2 is very sturdy. How many points are they again? Maybe supported by some of the wind chargers to take out threats and add some mobility
  3. I wish they released new infantry or models instead of heroes. Like nighthaunt is a great army but have a glut of infantry size heroes and infantry. They needed a monster or big cavalry. What did they get? A new infantry hero. Idoneth also have many infantry heros but randomly got another one. Storm cast is like 50% infantry heroes. In contrast the sylvaneth bug riders were perfect, filling a hole that the army had in a thematic and interesting way. I think these kits are more to produce (bigger, more plastic, harder to ship) but at the same time, ppl also buy more than one so hopefully it evens out.
  4. Making it more expensive may make it balanced, but it won't get rid of the NPE of feeling like you can't do your thing. In some ways it makes it worse because now the lumineth player has a negative play experience where their spells don't work and they can't do their thing! Not saying it wasn't a good change though.
  5. How did the leadbelchers do for you? I've been wondering about them with the unleash hell ability, with d6 attacks per. I cant' wait for the new tome... I feel like ogors especially have been a bit lackluster. They basically gave their best thing (2 on objectives, monsters count more) to everyone, for free, while simultaneously destroying the ability to get big units into combat AND giving everyone +1 damage against them. It has seemed pretty punishing.
  6. What have people found is the correct number for the bug riders? On one hand a bigger unit is more likely to be alive for resurrecting and to kill it's target or to make better use of strike and fade. On the other hand, with the giant bases getting all of them into contact and the cost adds up. You also can't then be in multiple places Is it different for the lancers vs. seekers?
  7. I guess I'm pondering alongside alarielle. She is just so many points that it feels harder to justify, and as a 3 cast wizard herself, i don't need the warsong to do all the heavy lifting. Like she can summon the woods for example, or maybe the endless spell since she's at least somewhat up front.
  8. Can you explain this more? That's a ton of points for +1 to cast. You could get almost 3 branchwyches for that cost. It's true they don't +1 to cast, but in either gnarlroot or dwindling they get each a reroll for a total of 3 casts all with rerollsblockquote widget
  9. Just played my first.game with the new tome yesterday. What a much better book! It plays like sylvaneth! I have a lot to learn though about positioning. Some questions 1- why do so many lists use the warding revenant over the branchwych. Their spell is the same. The only perk for the revenant is 2 casts and +1 to casting, but she is also 175 points more.... I used a branchwych with the tome and spell singer and she was my MVP. 2- alarielle seems great but also expensive. I really want to fit in 3 hammers to my list but with her costing so much, it doesn't really seem possible. Any thoughts on this? 3- can hunters always strike and fade if they are on an objective? It seems like yes since they are within range of themselves and count as overgrown? 4- can revenants teleport out of combat? Thanks!
  10. They all look beautiful, but I think you might want to work on the readability before committing. The multiple colors and spots already on the bottom 3 make them pretty hard to read at a glance. I can imagine that being pretty annoying to do if you are rolling a lot of dice.
  11. I think he means actual skeletons. They are so cheap and frail they will die if attacked anyway by any real units, bounty hunter or no, at least if you only buy 10
  12. Hey everyone, How are you all finding soulblight now? They seem to do great in a save stacking meta, which maybe still exists, and if desired can avoid the problem of bounty hunters if desired with blood knights or wolves for battleline while having several units to benefit themselves. They can even have a pretty good casting game with the rerolls, and maybe an incarnate, although the lore is pretty bad. On the other hand they don't do any one thing super well. I seldom see them written up. Maybe just not that popular from a modelling perspective.
  13. Without doing the double ironclad what does one want? The ironclad seems like the best thing in the book along with just basic dudes for bodies.
  14. How does something like this look? - Army Faction: Kharadron Overlords LEADERS Aetheric Navigator (85) - Artefacts of Power: Arcane Tome - Bonding: Krondspine Incarnate of Ghur Aether-Khemist (90) - General - Command Traits: Collector - Artefacts of Power: Spell in a Bottle BATTLELINE Arkanaut Company (90) - Light Skyhook and Gun Butt - Skypike - Aethermatic Volley Gun and Gun Butt Arkanaut Company (90) - Skypike - Light Skyhook and Gun Butt - Aethermatic Volley Gun and Gun Butt - Volley Pistol Arkanaut Company (180) - Aethermatic Volley Gun and Gun Butt - 2 x Light Skyhook and Gun Butt - 2 x Skypike BEHEMOTH Arkanaut Ironclad (490) - Great Volley Cannon Krondspine Incarnate of Ghur (400) Arkanaut Ironclad (490) - Great Volley Cannon - Great Endrinworks: Ebullient Buoyancy Aid ENDLESS SPELLS & INVOCATIONS 1 x Purple Sun of Shyish (70) TOTAL POINTS: 1985/2000 Created with Warhammer Age of Sigmar: The App
  15. It might seem to me like Galatian veterans helps a lot? Ships full of veteran Arkonauts ramming into objectives brings a lot of capture power yes? And they aren't then themselves vulnerable to bounty hunters. Maybe with spell in a bottle+purple sun to reduce rend. Maybe with the incarnate+ wizard book to give you a monster+ anchor?
  16. While i think the bounty hunters is interesting, i think building too much around it is a mistake- Manythings you want to kill won't be battle line etc. Dragons, Fulminators, Kragnos, megagargants, long strikes, bastilidons, stegadons. Basically none of the strongest targets does it help you against. And against many targets, you'd murder them anyway. 6 kurnoths charging a 10 model battle line screen will overkill it even without the +1 dmg. And mist importantly, the existence of that battalion will push people away from running things that it is good against. Nurgle will run pusgoyle blightlords instead of blight kings for example. I think bounty hunters may be a nice battalion to include but I don't think it will be as game breaking as ppl think. Everyone is building lists as if they will always be getting the +damage instead of it being very situational.
  17. I think seekers are 2 damage, with 3 attacks, yes? This actually makes them out damage the lancers. 3*1/2*2/3*2= 2 damage per seeker, at rend -2. 4*2/3*2/3*1= 1.77 dmg at rend -2 for the lancers. Given the similar price points, the slight difference in pts i think still leaves the seekers more dmg per point. It gets even more favorable with all out attack which grants the seekers +33% more damage but only +25% more to the lancers. Tldr seekers do more damage per point with and without all out attack.
  18. Some observations- Seekers ressurection themselves seems very strong. They also seem just better than lancers... They actually do plausibly more damage than lance For the warsong bomb, is it just me in or no is the branchwych spell identical? It seems a lot lot cheaper. Goes great with the artifact to cast through wildwoods and another reliable caster to put it out there. Allarielle seems actually pretty good now, i hadn't seen that you could save the ressurect and it's +1/turn. Using it on t4 goes off on a 2+, which is pretty reliable. Gives her a nice failsafe. If taking allarielle, i think you would definitely want one of the + casting seasons/wargroves. 3 casts without anything to buff them seems insufficient. Is there value to units of 6 seekers? Keeps them around long enough to be ressurected, and they hit pretty darn hard on their own, about as much as hunters.
  19. Can someone clarify for me- the seekers. Can they ressurect themselves? Can they ressurect the lancers?
  20. The new infantry rules seem like a breath of fresh air. Gluttons are back on the menu!
  21. Ok. Maybe just a bunch of freestanding bladegeists or a warlord or something. What about the IDEA of the list? It's al theory for me at this point
  22. What about something like this? Maximum MSU bladegheists to take advantage of the charge stuff, but with massive ability to spam CPS to keep them defensive/offensive as appropriate. This list is going for consistency and reliability above all else. If desired, could drop a unit of bladegheists for more utility like spirit hosts or more hexwraiths. Just trying to start with the core of the idea and then can dilute it more. - Army Faction: Nighthaunt - Subfaction: The Scarlet Doom LEADERS Lady Olynder (340)* - Spells: Soul Cage Guardian of Souls (150)* - General - Spells: Shademist Dreadblade Harrow (145)* - Artefacts of Power: Arcane Tome Dreadblade Harrow (145)* - Artefacts of Power: Pendant of the Fell Wind BATTLELINE Bladegheist Revenants (175)* Bladegheist Revenants (175)** Bladegheist Revenants (175)** Bladegheist Revenants (175)** Bladegheist Revenants (175)*** Bladegheist Revenants (175)*** Hexwraiths (160)*** CORE BATTALIONS - *Warlord - **Hunters of the Heartlands - ***Hunters of the Heartlands TOTAL POINTS: 1990/2000 Created with Warhammer Age of Sigmar: The App
  23. Bladegeists come in units of 10, so should be 30 attacks. Now obviously it can be hard to get all into contact, but that would adjust your math substantially, and makes the Bladegeists look a lot better. Still there is a reasonable tradeoff, with the reaped like corn pushing back toward the grimghasts along with the 2'' reach.
  24. What i like about shadow stalkers is they can do it all. They aren't as good a screen as witch elves, nor as good a deep strike as khinari, but they can do it both-eat a charge and then still teleport around later. For some missions, being able to hold a backfield objective while simultaneously threatening theirs is also worth a lot- indeed it's worth as much as 2 units in a different list. I think ppl are underestimating their durability. Trading -1 to hit for a 4+ save is equivalent against something that hits on a 3+ with no rend. All out attack on the attacker or defence (or mystic shield/blood shield) on the stalkers both push the balance toward the new warscroll. Even against rend 1, with blood shield, i think the new profile is sturdier and can be boosted further with all out defence if needed. They are also way killer than khinari- they could reasonably take a backfield objective from 10 opponents. 5 Khinari would struggle. They did go up in points though. I wish they were battletome in things besides kailborn. They really don't need it what with their other teleports but in a different sub faction they'd be great.
  25. Why not drop neave and the 2x heartrending for 2x shadow stalkers? Way more bodies, more damage and they can be used as screens T1 to protect you from an alpha, which you currently lack.
