  1. I’ve been reading this forum and looking online but am struggling to find out if the Thricefold battalion is a good start for someone newer to AOS. I’ve been playing 40k and have a good collection of Daemons which I now want to try and move over to AOS. I’ve always been interested in the big beasties and have the following Nurgle available:

GUO x2 (1 bell and blade, 1 sword and flail)

    Rotigus

    Sloppity Bilepiper

    Poxbringer

    Daemon Prince

    60 Plaguebearers

    6 Nurglings

    Feculent Gnarlmaw

Would I be able to make a list or start to with these models and not be stomped every time I play? Thanks

I haven´t done the math, I think they compete with Marauders when it comes down to the unit with the best damage to cost ratio in Nurgle.

Though in almost all of my games I wished I had something that is able to threaten enemy support charakters. Either something fast with good melee capabilities or some shooting / reliable ranged damage.

What type of unit/s would be able to offer that which could be used in a Nurgle army?

Well, that´s kind of the classic list. There is also the possibility to run

    Thricefold Befoulment

    30; 10; 10 Plaguebearers

    Spellportal

and use that remaining 290 points for something different, ie a unit of Plague Drones (200) or some Plague Monks (a block of 30 will cost you 240 points) or something different.

Although it seems to be the most competetive Nurgle Daemon build it is far from being a tournament winning list. Therefore you can run whatever you like and try to get the best results out of it.

I´m not sure that Spellportal is still a good idea because there are many lists out there that gain bonuses on dispeling or auto dispel your Spellportal.

This is an interesting idea, do Plague Monks work well outside of the Skaven Battletome without support etc? Thanks

  4. Hi one and all, I have been currently playing and collecting Nurgle for a while and I am wanting to start a second army. The question I have is, what would be a good low model count, simple to use faction. I appreciate it is going to be subjective and dependant on several factors but any help would be great. Thanks in advance

  5. Hi all, I posted in a previous forum and someone suggested to me that I should post in here. I have been playing for a short while (a few weeks really) and find that the list I have been using, Thricefold, isn’t for me. I want to try something more ‘fighty and hitty’ but not too sure where or what to do. Any help or advise would be great. I can get my hands on Plague Drones, Blightkings and a few other Nurgly bits. Thanks

  7. Hi, the title says it all really. The Maggotkin army I have hasn’t been doing it for me and i thought it might be down to how I want to play. Ideally, run/fly/teleport/charge across the board and fight. Based on this what do you think would be the faction that could do this the best/well? Thanks

  8. Hopefully I’ll be ok posting this here.... I’ve just started to near completion of a painted Maggotkin army with GUO’s and Drones and really want to start playing  and learning the game now so need to work out how to transport the army. If anyone can suggest some good ways to do so, I’ve not heard good things about the Citadel cases and so far these are the only way I know of, I would be eternally grateful. Thanks

  9. Hi, I’ll preface this post by saying that I collected Citadel/Warhammer miniatures back in ‘93/94 and loved Necromunda/Blood Bowl. A few years later and I realised that girls weren’t into GW as much as I was so I put them all in my parents loft and there they stayed.

Fast forward, I tried to get back into the hobby in my mid to late twenties and couldn’t find local people to help ease me in. Then GW opened a local store a few years back, I held off as long as I could but recently jumped back in. I picked up some Nurgle daemons and have just finished a Great Unclean One and 15 Plaguebearers. I am still looking for a local club or other gamers who can help me learn the rules and start to play more regularly, the local shop is great but being 35 years old I feel a bit awkward with all the younger gamers there.

Anyway, enough rambling. Hopefully I can get some more stuff painted and start playing soon.

    Cheers
