  1. Removing the warscrolls has been a good way to put a full stop on any of my future purchases. I have enough of a backlog that the only thing GW could release at this point that I would want to spend money on is a giant screamer behemoth of some variety. Ever since killing off Azyr, I've found myself pulling away to more agnostic style games anyhow. The only benefit that I can see for digitizing the warscrolls would be that they can be actively updated. But even then it doesn't matter unless they aren't hidden behind a paywall.
  2. Well, I am immensely glad that I started magnetizing my dracothian guard. Looks like I won't need to pick up anything but dragons going forward, which is exactly what I wanted.
  3. More dragons!! I need so many...for reasons both SCE abd Tzeentch flavored...yes.
  4. These are most likely being reboxed for 3.0. If they were going to get rid of these they would also have to rewrite the profile for the Stardrake, or remove it too since since it's part of the Extremis chamber/there wouldn't be any dracothian to give bonuses to. That, and I believe Kragnos' warscroll mentions bonuses vs. Dracothian and Draconith units. This is at least what I am going to tell myself as I just bought a box; but it does not seem likely that they are just flat out removing them.
  5. With regards to the Kruleboyz and their limited battleline along with the focus on monsters with 3.0, is it at all possible that the Marshcrawla Sloggoth might be treated as a battleline/conditional battleline chariot? It seems a little odd that they have so few battleline but I do understand that they are just 1/3 of a battletome.
  6. I have to admit, I'm a little surprised about the reaction to the new dragons. I've been waiting on the edge of my seat since they showed off the vulture mounts for the Kruleboys. I do apologize if my observations are in the wrong place. Looking at the sculpts for Krondys/Karazai, it feels like dragons have come a very long way since the release of AOS. The Stardrake is blocky and rectangular, with a compact silhouette that hides truncated limbs with little maneuverability under heavy armor plates and closed wings that are only slightly askew. You have the Khorne dragon, whose pose is unusually top heavy. The back feet have no motion, the forelimbs are too short to support the upper body, and it appears to be resting on a ruined building to try and hide that fact. The wings are too small and heavy to ever support it in the air. In both cases, the poses are very restrained and seem to square up. The new dragons however, are so very different. If I have one complaint about the sculpt, it's that their necks seem a little short. But the mantled wings and the upward pose gives the impression of having just landed on the battlefield. The closest comparison I could make here is Dorghar, and even then they're a little stiff and almost symmetrical. With the new characters, there's weight, motion, and a physical presence here that I don't see in earlier models. The faces are expressive and have supple, flexible features that for lack of a better example, suggests a talkative race akin to Copper dragons in DnD, particularly referencing Todd Lockwood's work. It makes sense for these prominent, sapient characters. I can only hope that these two are just the start of something more exciting, whether it's just smaller cavalry units, or a full on expansion into a full Draconith faction that can span across every faction, which is what I would love to see. As far as faction related gripes, I'm a little disappointed that, despite not having riders, Behemoths for Stormcast still appear to be locked to only leader spots. It's going to make it harder to shove as many dragons into my list as possible.
  7. I am so happy with these two I could cry. Finally, some decent dragons for the table. Rip my whole wallet.
  8. Stormcast helmets make them look like Cybermen from Dr. Who. I cannot take them seriously. The fact that they change radically in appeal with a simple headswap is the only reason besides dragons that I have any at all. I really want to see a Beasts of Chaos refresh; GW has done them dirty since I started them back before Chaos was split into three separate groups. I would appreciate even a little revamp. At least update the Shaggoth to his proper mountainous size.
  9. Sure thing, just let me hide all of these screamers in the back room real quick. In all seriousness though, not a fan and trying for some grimdark hullabaloo. So far I have them off the pauldrons and some of the shields so i can do shredded cloth and fail at freehand, and replaced the flag on the vexillor with a less impressive one. Not sure what I will do if this rumor engine is something like a throne or a chair for a mounted unit.
  10. I certainly hope it's not a giant, wierd Sigmar face. I'm already carving all of them off my dominion units as it is.
  11. Someone rummaged through a bits box and found a ton of spare skink tails and metal scraps. I have no idea what that might be other than maybe the back of a chair or throne? On the right there's a small portion that seems to curve backwards, but it looks to be all one smooth piece and not something like a tusk.
  12. Why did they repost the story? Did it go up in error from last week?
  13. I would sell most of my other armies to bankroll a pure dragon army, but have settled for fielding Stormcast until GW does that. I really wish they would give dragons the Gargant treatment so i could throw some in every faction I have.
  14. Reading the coalition rules for Disciples of Tzeentch, I see nothing that prevents them from being Battleline units. Am I reading this wrong?
  15. I have absolutely no idea what is going on in that preview picture, but I am pretty sure the model will look fantastic on top my gf's pile of shame. Hopefully we get one tomorrow to add to mine.
  16. Trawling through the internet and talking with my LFGS, it seems that there was something up with customs and delays? I have seen three dates for boxes now; July 3rd, August 7th, and I think, November 6th. Not sure about mto, but possibly?
  17. Nice to see that every unit I actually enjoy was jacked up in price. Really swell there GW. I understand the changes were necessary under the new rules but they're really hampering my army of screamers with both a points increase and the reinforcement rules. Would have appreciated them going up in size, or something. At least there will be more monsters this edition. No idea what my Tzaangor did. Still trucking through 60 Kairic acolytes and they probably won't hit the table entirely either. Don't mind me. Just entirely bummed about screamers and the fact that it will be hard to justify running as many as I usually do...I have about...42, last I counted.
  18. New dragons for SCE in the style of the new Thunderstrike models? No need to necessarily buy Liberators? I am just the sucker that GW wants. The slimmer models and polearms ticked all if my boxes and I've been toying with an excuse to grab dracothians for ages for at least a small force. Wish they would do a two headed chaos dragon but I will take what I can get at this point. Crossing my fingers that the rumors pan out.
  19. I know it's just a rumor, but I'm not sure I care much for the reinforcement rules, unless they change the unit sizes on several models or rework unitl size bonuses. Either way, it's going to be much harder to toss 42 screamers on the table, just because.
  20. Seeing the mounts in context makes them look much better. Desert tauntauns it is. I am still not a huge fan of them but that mounted lord is fantastic and I am sure I will be able to find a way to add it into my Tzeentch in the future...for reasons.
  21. Well, I can honestly say I didn't expect the Lumineth to also be responsible for a Warriors of Virtue revival. Not a huge fan of the mount and archer combo. Even if they do run, kangaroo is the first thing that registers for me and the logistics of a hopping mount is odd outside of squigs.
  22. Price increases all around I guess. It affects my hobby spending, but not as much as it should. Mostly I just need a bubble to vent about the changes. I find myself mostly frustrated that Tzaangor are getting hit twice in a row. When I started the Enlightened were 35; they're probably going to be 45-50 starting in June; same with the regular ones; which I always need to grab more. I can't even begin to justify the tree revenants; they're already ridiculous in comparison to the rest of the army.
  23. Beasts of Chaos called. They want their cow back.
