  1. And yet it seems it was the right choice for 40k. Game is much better than that end of 9th ******.
  2. On the same note, I'm in favor of Nagash dying btw. He's a relic of Ages past. Let the "Council of Mortarchs" rule death for a while, before some new God of Death emerges.
  3. I think we can all agree that *new* named characters won't get killed off just yet. I'm all for killing them off at certain points in time and their models becoming generic versions of themselves, but basically within the same release cycle? Never gonna happen. They first have to actually *do* something in the world, the living story, so to speak.
  4. Feedback is good, solutions in general are not. Even if they'd be good, they would get drowned besides others that would not be. The best feedback one can probably give is detailed, specific and shows all the problems with a unit or a combination of units. Even specifics, like, how points drops of X would enable a specific build or a specific type of build etc. can be super valuable. That way the devs get all the information they need in an understandable way and can do their work. If you send them some feedback on why a unit isn't good, probably without specifics and then add tons of solutions (maybe even across multiple emails) you're just very likely to get ignored. Not out of malice, but because your feedback would have to be deciphered - and usually there is no time for that.
  5. I'm not sure if that's the right strategy to achieve anything, though.
  6. Maybe one Command Corps per Marshal on Foot? That would sound about right imo.
  7. Sounds good. And another character is what I'd like to paint anyway. I'll start with the battlemage then!
  8. I think I'll just paint "all of the above". A battlemage (probably one of the two from cursed city), some allies, those two father & daughter witch hunters... and vary it a bit. Thanks for all the advice so far! That gives me some confidence to proceed. Edit: I wanted to field 10 knights for better synergy with the marshal & to have a solid/grindy hammer, but cavaliers have only 1“ range, so… maybe 2x5 are the way to go.
  9. Nice to hear. Right now it seems I have just about 170 points left. Cities humans were more expensive than I thought. But that’s not a bad thing necessarily, less models to spend a lot of time on sounds good. List so far consists of: - A Mashall on foot - A warforger - A marshal on horseback - The ogre dude — - 2x 10 steelhelms - 20 or 2x10 Fusiliers - 10 knights - 10 wildcorps hunters - 1 cannon - command squad with 170 points left I could add another 10 fusiliers or a command squad, but some more magic sounds good as well. Just makes those points really awkward. I‘ve also considered dropping 5 knights but haven’t given it more thoughts than that.
  10. I feel like I need to look up the current season as well. Last time I played that crazy magic was not a thing xD. Anyway, I think I'll start with what I want to paint and go from there. My core (from what I own and like so far) will be the FoMo box, a command squad & some fusiliers. I'll probably get the marshal on horseback as well. Two units I really like (to paint and play with) but am pretty sure are not that good are the dude with the ogre and the cannon. Any tips on making those two work?
  11. Okay, folks... after a little AoS hiatus (I had to finish some Votann), I'm back on track and got myself some of the new Cities stuff. I must say, I'm a bit overwhelmed =D. Can one of you nice folks give me a compact (really doesn't have to be long or detailed) overview of the new book and the new units? Just a few sentences really. It's not a diehard project for me (I'd rather build and paint a cool city with some allies), but as of right now, I have only a general understanding of how the new version of the cities works. I'm definitely going for a human core, but am not above some Kharadron allies or something like that. Bonus question, how good is the poster child of the cities, Hammerhall Asqua?
  12. I really like the look of Greywater Fastness, but the story of & behind Misthavn. In terms of experiencing the story of the world I also like Hammerhall quite a bit. So I consider that my third option.
  13. I just realised that ardboys boss, 10 ardboys and one of the new boars are 500 points on the nose. Sounds like a vanguard box right there
  14. True, they are really pushing the envelope with some.
  15. AoS Design team is on a roll... how great are those stunties??
  16. That's my take as well: Chorfs as the big release, Kurnothi accompanying them, as a Sylvaneth supplement. But ofc that's wild guessing on my part.
  17. You know who would really fit with a Chorfs release? Some Sylvaneth fighting the destruction of their woods. Kurnothi maybe?? I like your narrative!
  18. Just for your info, the pdf will be free! So no cash grab supplement
  19. Great reveal. I even like the Marines. But let’s cut to the case. Those Ironjaws look like real winners to me. What a range… . Ardboys successfully distinguish themselves from brutes and looks absolutely stunning doing so! Now. If only one could swap the grunta pigs into ones that look like the big pig. Trogg makes me wanna play troggs is all I can say to that marvelous beast. Warcry Box doesn’t have a single bad model, which is also chef‘s kiss! what else? Fulgrim is a banger! And those underworld demons are a treat!
  20. That Big Boss looks perfect. Hopefully that will cement the Ardboys as the rank & file of Iron Jaws, with Brutes and those weirdos looking special rather than common. Now, if *only* we would get new Goregruntas. Or more specifically, new pigs besides the big piggy. The riders all look mighty fine, but gosh those boars... . Especially now that the magnificent super-pig was teased.
  21. I think whatever they do, they should do it with more courage. I'm fine with shelving Bonesplitters & making Ironjaws & Kruleboys their own thing (Brutal but Kunnin' vs Kunnin' but Brutal). But I'd also be fine with an actual "Orruks Warclans" book that has *no* split anymore but rather the warlord decides the direction the army goes (again brutal but... etc. see above). So the warlord lets you chose a set of special rules that are then your army rules but you can actually mix and match your dudes as you see fit. That could leave some Bonesplitters in the book, albeit without a proper general. So no third army rules option. Personally I'd like them to take route number 2, but given how different Kruleboyz and Ironjaws look, I expect it to be route number one.
  22. My guess is that they will split Ironjaws & Kruleboys come 4th Ed, and jusr forget to upgrade Bonesplitters ;).
