  1. I thought it might be Necromunda Squats. But whatever the case, like KO it looks not!
  2. Let’s not forget, that StD could come in like January. It is entirely possible for us to get a new starter box with the horns vs „something something order because order“ & get those legionaries and a destruction warband as an addition.
  3. I don't want to judge its strength, but I do have to say I love the implications. The whole rule basically forces DoK to play aggressive. Let's hope the rest of the book is finely tuned.
  4. Don’t forget that Dreadblades can only copy the General‘s command. You’re probably aware and are only mentioning that for the free commands, but I wanna highlight it a bit.
  5. Well, if it helps, you got me into NH as well.
  6. What I would love is elves, dwarves and other races sprinkled across ab otherwise human faction. To show the other races are there, they‘re just way less common. A bit like the *really* old empire books worked. If they could translate that spirit into a better themed book (aka Dawnbringer Crusades) it would be aces!
  7. So far the discussion seems to somewhat ignore conditional battlelines. So I want to put that back on the menu. Scarlet Doom & Quicksilver Dead let you do things you otherwise couldn’t do, by filling your battleline with (potential) hammers. So we‘re free to play more glaivewraiths for example >.< . No, but seriously, I think that’s another layer to our otherwise very solid roster of troops. When you have units that are that close together in terms of output and durability, everything counts.
  8. I think we‘ll get epitome noble dark, as you put it. To be precise, I expect a weird but potentially wonderful combination of the old empire look combined with a very breton noblehood. Heroes with squires, Crusading houses, knighthood, chivalry in the face of monstrous death. But also logistics, an advance that doesn’t want to raze & raid but conquer & pacify an otherwise harmful, hostile & chaotic world. Edit: I‘ll claim one character name just for fun: The Liegelord, a sort of high commander of a new settlement/outpost.
  9. Vampire & dwarf were amazing and something I‘d very much love to have more of. Superb! Aaaand… I couldn’t care less for the rest. Okay, that’s not true. I do care for the StD stuff, but it was leaked beforehand. I would care for the skaven but they got only one new model. And I just don’t like the bug elves - even though I do appreciate the poses and stuff. They’re just not for me. So, in that sense it‘s all in all pretty underwhelming. But, *but* Nighthaunt got leaked a few days before, so I couldn’t care less about today! Now my only hope is, that the DoK get an equally cool book.
  10. It could very well be, that you’re right. That‘s one part of the fun of this book. There‘s a lot going on and things want to get figured out. I come from the perspective that you want to maximise gheists in scarlet doom (with them being battleline and maybe skip reapers and chainghasts. But even that could be wrong or not be the only working approach. Fun times!
  11. I‘d firmly ignore the banshees as hammers. They‘re far too easily killed. I do however think they could be great to distract, soak up a good bit of damage (and die) in the process - of, if ignored, will do a good bit of damage next to our fighting units. But all in all it‘s not just about how hard you it, but also how much of a beating you can endure. And even with msu I think we need some fix point on the battlefield. 20 Bladegheist units for example.
  12. I‘ve also come to the conclusion that hexwraith might be the glue that keeps our units together. Which, in turn, baffles me, as their sculpts are just *that* ugly. I had hopes that the glaives would fill that role, but it doesn’t look like it. Meh.
  13. How would you get 90 of them, when reinforcements cap at 4?
  14. They basically got their own subfaction. If that turns out to be good (or good enough), then they‘ll be good, too. From reading through it, it looks strong. Bladegheists do mortals on the charge in that subfaction.
  15. The Fimir have quite a bit of baggage to carry around. Granted, most people don’t remember their lore, but I‘m pretty sure GW has no need for even the slightest controversy. So they’re probably dead for good.
  16. Well said. If we ignore any endless spells we should be somewhat able to starve it. Still a potential problem to look out for. Do we have any good charge bonuses?
  17. As the Krondspine got mentioned. The timing isn’t excellent, but we have to ask outselves, what we do *against* it, as it blocks retreats, which are a staple of ours. At least the Bladegheist faction should take a hard look at Awlrach. For that exact reason.
  18. The Bladegheist Subfaction looks very cool. I think a KoS + Dreadblade will not only look cool and be flavorful, but issuing all out attack or our new improved ward save to two units of bladegheists sounds good. Pair that with a black coach and we'll surely pack some hefty punch. By charging alongside the respective units they'll also increase the chance for those sweet debuffs we all long for. The strongest build? I have no idea. Probably not. Emerald Host looks to be more flexible and probably better as of now. But I think it'll be strong enough to play in earnest - while looking formidable.
  19. I‘m not completely sure if they didn’t leak the hype themselves (and then published the Warcom Article).
  20. Ignoring a few outliers (mainly SCE) I think that all the 3.0 books are pretty good in that sense. I‘m super happy that the trend continues or seems to continue.
  21. Right? Well… it’s fine either way, but yeah. Reads like a last minute change.
  22. I just realized I‘m like ages behind on my Kruleboys. And with the Nighthaunt leaks so far & what’s brewing on the horizon for StD I‘m probably in trouble should Warhammer Fest reveal some Kurnothi or one of the destruction books be Ogors (with more than just one new hero).
  23. I haven’t even started to process everything but so far, I like what I see. Very much so. Most 3.0 books have done a good job at incorporating the feel of an army (essentially the fluff) into its actual gameplay. It looks like NH are no exception. An army of Bladegheists with the right heroes and a coach or two will look and feel amazing. And and so will a more complex cast of units.
  24. I literally made the same mistake when reading it.
  25. 150 new posts, what is thi- oh, OH! We got actual leaks! And what leaks... man, that roadmap is on fire! I'm amazed. So cool. Gonna let it sit for a while. But boy, does that look good.
